Box Hill has gone from farmland to one of Sydney’s largest new-housing releases in under a decade, and most of our work here reflects that. Homes in The Gables and the estates around it are handed over with the electrical minimum the builder had to install – enough power points to pass, no outdoor lighting, no data cabling, no fans. The jobs that follow are almost always the same: extra points in the garage and alfresco, security and landscape lighting once the yard is finished, ceiling fans before the first summer, and a dedicated circuit for a pool, shed or EV charger.

Because these estates are all-electric, switchboard capacity matters more here than in older suburbs. An induction cooktop, heat-pump hot water, ducted air conditioning and a car charger on the same supply add up quickly, so we check what the board and mains can actually carry before quoting rather than after. Out towards Nelson and Maraylya the picture flips: older acreage properties on overhead supply, shed and pump circuits, and switchboards that predate the estates entirely.
