Glen Alpine owners can claim a short-run special this month, whether your block backs onto a fairway of Campbelltown Golf Course, sits near the tennis complex, faces Heritage Park or lies in Macarthur Gardens off Menangle Road. Bring up the offer when you book.

Glen Alpine began in 1986 as a golf course estate, with homes built mostly inside the loop of the 18-hole course, then spread outward from the late 1990s. The 2021 Census found 98.3 per cent separate houses, 92.5 per cent with four or more bedrooms and blocks of roughly 800 to 1,900 square metres. The oldest homes now carry boards close to 40 years old, so we do switchboard replacements, garden and pool lighting, and power runs to detached sheds.

Business here is limited to the local shops, the tennis complex and Campbelltown Golf Course with its clubhouse, while Macarthur Square sits just beyond the suburb edge. We look after small commercial electrical jobs for these venues and for home-based businesses on the larger blocks.

Same-day service covers every Glen Alpine street, inside the golf course loop and out toward Menangle Road. Typical urgent jobs: a 1980s fuse board failing in a heatwave, a pool pump circuit shorting after rain, or a burnt outlet in a home office.
Most of the people who call us from Glen Alpine own their homes outright or are well into the loan, since 41.1 per cent own outright and only 8.0 per cent rent. With a median age of 43, many households have teenagers or grown children at home, and the houses are big: an average of 4.3 bedrooms each. Requests lean toward upgrades rather than repairs, such as new LED downlights through a formal lounge, outdoor lights along long driveways and a proper circuit for the backyard entertaining area. We are the Glen Alpine electrician these families call back year after year.
The oldest streets around the course date from the late 1980s, while Macarthur Gardens near Menangle Road is much newer. That age gap shows up in the switchboards. We also deal with electrical emergencies for homes here and across Macarthur.

The first Glen Alpine homes went up from 1986. Many still have boards with rewireable fuses or only partial RCD protection, which struggle under modern air conditioning and induction cooking.
Blocks of 800 to 1,900 square metres leave room for sheds, workshops and long gardens. We run buried supply to outbuildings, add outlets for tools and fit weatherproof lighting to back fences.
Thomas Reddall built the first Glen Alpine house in the 1820s, and James Sheil's later home still stands in Bell Tree Close. For older structures like these we plan rewiring that respects original fabric.
Big backyards here often hold pools, spas and covered patios. We fit dedicated pump circuits, outdoor outlets with proper protection and lighting that makes evening entertaining safer.

Late-1980s Glen Alpine switchboards are familiar ground for our licensed team, and we know which original fittings and cable types need attention before new circuits go on.

After looking over your board and roof void, we set one price in writing. A fairway-side home inside the loop and a smaller Macarthur Gardens block often need very different amounts of work.

A home by the golf course without power, or a board smelling hot, moves ahead of booked upgrades, and we tell you honestly when the van can reach Glen Alpine.

Long-time owners across Glen Alpine are among our 250+ customers, and many heard about us over the fence or at the tennis courts rather than from an advertisement.

Whatever we wire in a Glen Alpine home carries lifetime labour cover, which matters to owners who plan to stay in their large houses for decades.

Choose a time that suits your household and let us know if the board sits in the garage or on an external wall facing the golf course, so we bring the right gear.

Our electrician walks through the house, checks the board and roof space, then emails a single fixed figure before touching anything. The job stays at that price unless you add to it.

Glen Alpine driveways are generous, so parking is simple, and we arrive inside the agreed window. If Menangle Road traffic delays us, you will get a call before the time passes.

Dust gets swept, offcuts go with us, and power comes back on while you watch. The CCEW and a short summary of the work then reach you by email.

Our story starts in 2017, when Spyro went out on his own; the crew now numbers five-plus licensed electricians. Glen Alpine suits the steady, careful work we enjoy: bringing older boards up to date, adding lighting in large rooms with high ceilings and sorting the outdoor wiring that big blocks tend to accumulate. Owners here often stay for decades, so we explain what we find and give straight advice on what can wait and what cannot.

Glen Alpine was established in 1986, so its first homes are now nearing 40 years old, and 98.3 per cent of dwellings are separate houses averaging 4.3 bedrooms. Large homes built around that era often carry boards never designed for today’s appliance loads.

NSW requires a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work after each job, and every Glen Alpine visit of ours ends with one. In homes built from the late 1980s, work near the board often reveals old fuses, earthing that needs improving or circuits added over the years without protection. When the board is changed, we bring RCD protection onto all final subcircuits, as the wiring rules require, and anything we disturb is either corrected or noted in writing.
We never price Glen Alpine work blind. A lighting job in a single-level home inside the golf course loop, with a roomy roof void, can be quick, while the same lighting in a two-storey Macarthur Gardens house with a tight ceiling space takes more time. We inspect first, then give you one written figure that holds unless you choose to add work.
Thinking about replacing that original board, lighting up a long driveway, or running power out to the shed at the bottom of your Glen Alpine block? Call 02 8999 3691. We will inspect it, explain your options plainly and provide a fixed written price.
Glen Alpine owners, from the golf course loop to Macarthur Gardens, tend to ask us these questions. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Frequently on the same day. Vans head out at 7am and finish at 5:30pm on weekdays, while Saturdays wrap up at 2pm and Sundays are off. Glen Alpine is part of our regular Campbelltown area runs. Calling 02 8999 3691 early improves your chances, and anything involving smoke, sparks or a hot board gets top priority.
That depends on what we find, which is why we inspect before quoting. A Glen Alpine home with easy roof access and a modern board is quicker to work on than an original 1980s house with a crowded fuse panel. After our visit you receive a written fixed figure covering the job, and it does not change unless you ask for more.
Not always, but it is worth checking. Boards from that era may still have rewireable fuses, lack RCD protection on lighting circuits or have no spare room for new circuits. We test the board and the wiring behind it and tell you honestly if it can stay, needs a partial upgrade or should be replaced.
Yes. With Glen Alpine blocks ranging up to about 1,900 square metres, many homes have sheds or workshops well away from the house. We size the cable for the distance and the tools you plan to use, bury it at the correct depth with protection, and fit a small sub-board in the shed if needed.
We do. Large backyards here often include a pool, spa or both. We provide a dedicated circuit with its own RCD, weatherproof outdoor power points at the equipment pad and lighting for the pool area. If an existing pump keeps tripping the safety switch, we find the cause rather than just resetting it.
There is some. The name dates to Thomas Reddall’s 1820s house, whose site is now Heritage Park on Abington Crescent, and James Sheil’s later Glen Alpine house still stands in Bell Tree Close. Most homes are modern, but for older buildings we plan concealed cable routes and discuss any approvals with the owner first.
Yes. The Census recorded 2.4 vehicles per dwelling in Glen Alpine, above the 2.1 counted in neighbouring Gledswood Hills, and most homes have a double garage. We measure the spare capacity at your board, give the charger its own protected circuit and place it on the garage wall nearest your parking spot. An ageing board may need upgrading before the charger goes in.
In big homes with long cable runs, a large motor starting can cause a brief dip, but frequent or heavy flicker can point to loose connections at the board, an ageing main switch or an overloaded circuit. We test voltage at the board and at the affected lights, then tighten, repair or rebalance as needed.
Yes. Many Glen Alpine homes from the 1980s and 1990s still have halogen downlights with transformers in the ceiling. We swap them for LED fittings that run cooler, use less power and suit the existing holes where possible, and we check the insulation clearances in the roof as we go.
