Leasing an office off Martin Place, trading in Pitt Street Mall or owning a unit near Hyde Park? For a limited time our Central Sydney specials also reach Wynyard Park, Macquarie Street and the George Street towers. Quote the special at booking and we take it off your job.

Homes in the heart of the city are high-rise almost without exception. The 2021 Census for the suburb of Sydney, which covers most of the city centre, found 99.2 per cent of dwellings were flats, 72.0 per cent of households rented, and 26.2 per cent of private dwellings were unoccupied on census night, many of them investor or short-stay units. Two-bedroom apartments made up 45.3 per cent. We handle LED lighting, extra outlets, oven circuits and lot switchboard faults.

Central Sydney is the City of Sydney’s name for the planning area around the CBD, taking in The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Ultimo, UTS and Central Station. Its planning strategy, published in December 2020, targets an extra 2.9 million square metres of commercial floor space. We wire office fit-outs, retail tenancies and suites across it.

Offices, shops and apartments across Central Sydney get same-day service for urgent faults. Common calls: a tenancy losing power to half its workstations, a server cupboard circuit tripping, emergency lights failing their test, or a scorched outlet in a Kent Street apartment.
Most of our Central Sydney work is for businesses: office managers moving a team to a new floor, retailers refreshing a Pitt Street Mall store, and facilities teams keeping lighting and exit signs compliant. Apartment owners and investors are the other group, often calling a city electrician to replace old fittings, add kitchen power or fix a tripping board before a new tenant moves in. The city’s financial core around Martin Place brings a steady run of workstation power, meeting room AV and data cabling jobs.
Working downtown means loading docks, security passes and building rules at every address. We handle the paperwork with building management, work outside peak office times where required, and send emergency electricians across the City of Sydney when a tenancy goes dark mid-morning.

Martin Place and the surrounding streets hold the country's financial core. We rewire tenancy distribution boards, add workstation power and install lighting controls that suit open-plan floors and meeting rooms.
The suburb of Sydney recorded 99.2 per cent flats in 2021, with one and two-bedroom units dominating. We work on lot boards, kitchen circuits and lighting while respecting each building's strata rules.
Pitt Street Mall holds more than 500 specialty stores. We fit display lighting, signage feeds and point-of-sale power, and plan noisy work with centre management outside peak trade.
Macquarie Street, Queens Square and Hyde Park Barracks anchor the historic precinct. In older sandstone and brick buildings we run new cabling carefully through existing pathways and protect original finishes.

Our licensed electricians regularly work inside city towers with base building rules, induction procedures and tenancy distribution boards, from Macquarie Street offices to George Street retail.

We walk the floor or inspect the unit first, then issue a written fixed figure. A Martin Place suite and a Hyde Park apartment are always priced as separate jobs.

A dead workstation row near Wynyard or a tripping kitchen in a city apartment gets fast attention, with the nearest licensed electrician rerouted to you the same day.

Our 250+ customers include Central Sydney office managers, shop operators, investors and strata managers, and many were referred by another tenant in their own building.

The labour on every city job we complete, from one new outlet in a Kent Street unit to a whole floor of office lighting, is guaranteed for life.

Tell us the building, floor and building manager, and whether a security pass or induction is needed. We then book a slot that fits your office hours or tenancy roster.

After inspecting the distribution board and cable routes, we explain what the job involves in plain words and email a fixed figure for approval before work starts.

City parking is scarce, so we book the loading dock in advance, carry tools up in one trip and arrive inside the agreed window, calling ahead if traffic intervenes.

Workstations and carpets are covered, every offcut goes with us, and building management receives the compliance certificate and test results for their records.

From power points and ceiling fans to full rewires and commercial fit-outs, we handle every job with care and turn up when we say we will. Book your free quote today.
The Central Sydney Planning Strategy aims for 2.9 million more square metres of commercial floor space, and the existing towers turn over tenants constantly. Every move, refurbishment or new lease brings a fit-out with power, lighting and data to plan.

Once a Central Sydney job is done, we lodge the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work that state rules call for and pass a copy to the tenant and building management. When a tenancy or apartment switchboard is replaced or altered, AS/NZS 3000 requires RCD protection on the final subcircuits. Type AC safety switches have been barred from new work since 1 May 2023, so we install Type A or Type B devices.
Your price is fixed in writing after we have seen the site. Two city examples explain why: fitting new lights in a modern Kent Street apartment with open ceiling access, compared with rewiring a heritage office on Macquarie Street where sandstone walls, base building rules and restricted hours all add time. Each job gets its own quote.
Moving into a new office near Martin Place, refreshing a Pitt Street Mall store or fixing a city apartment? Call 02 8999 3691 to book a licensed electrician. We coordinate with building management, confirm the fixed price in writing and guarantee our labour for life.
What Central Sydney office managers, retailers, facilities teams and apartment owners most often ask us. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
In most cases. Our hours are 7am to 5:30pm on weekdays and 7am to 2pm on Saturdays, and we do not work Sundays. The team is in the city most days, so phoning 02 8999 3691 in the morning usually gets someone to you that day. Let us know about security passes or dock bookings so we can arrange them before arriving.
We never guess prices over the phone. A single tenancy circuit in a modern tower and a rewire through a heritage building on Macquarie Street involve very different labour, access and building rules. We inspect, explain the scope, and provide a fixed price in writing. That figure holds unless you ask for extra work.
In many city tenancies, workstations, kitchen appliances and heaters have been added over several leases without the circuits being rebalanced. Damaged leads, faulty equipment and moisture in kitchenette outlets also trip safety switches. We test circuit loads, identify the faulty item or overloaded circuit, and redistribute power so staff are not losing work mid-morning.
Yes. Most city towers require contractor inductions, insurance certificates, permits for shutdowns and loading dock bookings. We submit the documentation in advance, follow the building manager’s rules on noise and access, and provide test results and certificates at completion so the tenancy file is complete.
Yes. Our team runs data and network cabling with the power fit-out, so workstation outlets, meeting rooms and wireless access points are all planned together. We label and test each run and leave a clear schedule for your IT provider.
Wiring and fittings inside your lot are usually the owner’s responsibility, while lobby lighting, risers, car parks and the main switchroom are generally common property. Strata plans and by-laws vary, so the lot line gets confirmed on the plan first. Should the fault turn out to be building-owned, we document it and send the details to your building manager.
In 2021, 72.0 per cent of households in the suburb of Sydney were renting, so many owners ask this. NSW landlords must keep a working alarm on each storey, get a reported faulty alarm fixed inside two business days, and swap out any alarm within ten years of its manufacture date. Hard-wired alarms need a licensed electrician; our smoke alarm team provides dated records for your agent.
Yes. Macquarie Street, Queens Square and the older laneway buildings contain sandstone and brick structures with heritage fabric. We use existing risers and ceiling voids, avoid cutting into original walls, and check any heritage conditions with the owner or building manager before we start.
Yes, at no extra charge when we are already attending for booked work. We trip-test safety switches, look for heat marks at the board, check for overloaded power boards under desks and note any expired emergency light batteries. Anything we find is explained and quoted separately.
Yes. Every electrician on our team is NSW-licensed and insured. Spyro founded the business in 2017, we now have 5+ licensed electricians and 7,000+ projects completed, every job carries its compliance certificate, and the labour on each city job comes with a lifetime guarantee.
