Gables is a suburb of brand-new family homes. The 2021 Census counted 96.9 per cent separate houses, and 91.4 per cent had four or more bedrooms, averaging 4.2 bedrooms per dwelling. Mortgaged owners make up 71.3 per cent, well above the NSW 32.5 per cent. Builder packages usually cover the basics only, so owners call us after handover to add outdoor power, pendant and LED downlights, alfresco fans, extra data points and circuits for home gyms or theatre rooms.
Commerce in Gables centres on Stockland Gables Town Centre at 4 Lakefront Crescent, anchored by a full-line Woolworths with medical, pharmacy, gym, childcare and cafe tenancies. With the metro and motorways a drive away, families here rely on their cars, which makes home charging a natural next step.
NSW requires a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work for each job, and every Gables visit ends with one. New homes are not automatically problem-free: we still find loose terminations and outdoor sockets without weather covers. When a board is replaced or altered, AS/NZS 3000 requires every final subcircuit to have RCD protection, and since 1 May 2023 Type AC devices cannot go into new work, so we fit Type A.
Every Gables quote is a written fixed figure given once we have seen the home. Two jobs that sound the same can differ: running power to an alfresco in a single-storey home with open roof access is quick, while the same outlet in a two-storey house with a concrete slab upstairs means careful cable routing. You approve the number first.

Quite often. We work Monday to Friday between 7am and 5:30pm and on Saturdays from 7am until 2pm, and the Box Hill growth area is on our regular north-west run. Ring 02 8999 3691 early and we can usually fit you in that day. A burning smell, sparking outlet or complete loss of power always takes priority over planned work.
We give no prices until we have inspected, because access varies so much between single and double-storey plans. Once we have checked the roof space, board and cable paths, you get a written fixed figure. That figure only changes if you decide to add more work while we are there.
Yes, and it is the most common request we get in Gables. Owners often want extra kitchen power, USB outlets, pendant lighting over the island, outdoor power for the alfresco, sensor lights, fans and wired data. We can usually do this through the roof space with minimal patching. If your home is still under builder warranty, we note what we touched so there is no confusion later.
Adding circuits or fittings does not cancel a structural warranty, but the builder will not cover our work, and we will not cover theirs. We document what we changed, leave existing builder circuits alone unless needed and hand over our compliance certificate. That way, if an issue appears, it is clear who is responsible for which part of your Gables home.
Yes. With 2.2 vehicles per dwelling on average, many Gables families are adding a charger. We confirm spare capacity on your board, run a dedicated circuit to the garage wall and install a charger to suit your car. If you already have rooftop solar, we can set it up to use more of your daytime generation.
We do not sell or install solar panels, but we can work on the switchboard side of an existing system. That includes making room for a battery, setting up a backup circuit for essentials such as the fridge and lights, and relabelling the board so everyone knows what is on backup. Your battery supplier and we can coordinate on the day.
