Limited-time offers for homes, apartments and businesses across North Sydney, the Miller Street and Walker Street commercial core, Victoria Cross and the streets around St Leonards Park. Mention the offer when you book and we will apply it to your quote.

Lighting, power points, ceiling fans, switchboard and safety switch upgrades, smoke alarms, rewiring and fault finding – we look after every part of a home’s electrical system. North Sydney is an apartment suburb before it is anything else, with flats and apartments making up 84.4 per cent of occupied private dwellings at the 2021 Census and separate houses only 6.0 per cent. We work in lot switchboards, kitchen and bathroom circuits, downlights, exhaust fans and rangehoods across towers, walk-ups and the small pocket of houses off Walker and Ridge Streets.

The North Sydney CBD holds roughly 941,214 square metres of office stock, with vacancy recorded at 23.7 per cent in January 2025, so tenancies are constantly being fitted out, subdivided, made good and re-let. We handle office lighting and power, data rough-in, tenancy metering, exit and emergency lighting, and after-hours work. We cover fit-outs, three-phase supply, data cabling, emergency and exit lighting, and maintenance planned around your trading hours.

Faults do not wait for a strata meeting or a lease renewal. We answer the phone from 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday, and we attend dead circuits, tripping safety switches, burning smells and lost power in a single unit, isolating and making safe before anything else.
At Olympic Electrical, we are proud to be the electricians North Sydney families, strata committees and business owners trust. Every job is handled by fully licensed tradespeople with years of experience behind them and a standard of work we stand by.
Whether it is a straightforward installation, a switchboard upgrade, power out to a shed or studio, or an emergency electrician at short notice, we are equipped for it. We are more than just electricians – we are the local electrician experts across the lower North Shore, for every job big and small.
We are just a call away – wherever you are in North Sydney, from the commercial core along Miller, Walker, Berry and Mount Streets through Victoria Cross and Greenwood Plaza to the residential streets around St Leonards Park and McLaren Street, we get an electrician to you fast.

Half the lights in the unit die but the neighbours are fine, or the lot board trips every time the dryer runs. We trace the fault back through the riser to your own switchboard, replace failed breakers and RCDs, and label the board properly.
A tenancy is being split, relet or handed back and the lighting grid, outlets and data no longer match the floor plan. We move circuits, install new lighting and power, decommission redundant cabling and return the space to a compliant, documented state.
In the Walker and Ridge Street and McLaren Street conservation areas you find lath and plaster, no cavity access and brittle old rubber cabling. We rewire with minimal chasing and use discreet surface runs where the fabric cannot be cut.
Six in ten North Sydney homes are rented, and agents need proof rather than promises. We install and replace hard-wired smoke alarms, add RCD protection where the board allows, and hand over written records for the tenancy file.

All our electricians are fully licensed, insured, and continuously trained to stay current with industry standards. We bring years of hands-on experience to every project, making sure your electrical work is done safely and to the highest possible standard.

From the first quote to the final invoice, you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for. Our clear communication and honest approach help you plan your project with complete confidence.

When something goes wrong, it goes to the front of the queue. Our electricians respond quickly and offer same-day service, so power and safety are restored without a long wait.

We’re proud to be a top-rated Sydney electrician, with 250+ happy customers and a long list of five-star reviews behind us. That reputation is built on turning up, doing the job properly and standing behind it.

We back the quality of our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee. This means you can have total confidence knowing that if any issues arise due to our work, we’ll return promptly to make it right — no extra cost, no hassle.

Booking us is easy — call, send an email, or fill out our quick online form, and we will find a time that works around your day. Our friendly team responds promptly and takes the time to understand exactly what you need.

Once we understand the scope of your project, we’ll provide a detailed and transparent quote outlining all costs upfront. We believe in honesty and clear communication, ensuring there are no hidden fees or last-minute surprises.

We turn up inside the window we promised, and if anything changes you hear from us first. Our electricians are punctual, prepared and respectful of your home or business from the moment they arrive.

Our electricians treat every property — whether it’s a home or business — with the utmost respect. We work efficiently, maintain a tidy workspace, and thoroughly clean up after the job is completed.

Olympic Electrical started in 2017 with one van, a licence and a simple promise: turn up when we say we will, and charge what we quoted. Spyro still runs the business the same way today, and the team has grown to five-plus licensed electricians working across Sydney and through North Sydney and the lower North Shore every week.
You deal with tradespeople, not a call centre. The electrician who quotes your job is the electrician who does it, the site is left clean, and the workmanship is backed by a lifetime labour guarantee. That is how we have built a base of more than 250 happy customers and thousands of completed jobs.

The switchboard is where almost every recurring electrical complaint in a North Sydney unit or office ends up. Nuisance tripping, scorched neutrals, ceramic rewireable fuses and boards with no room left for another circuit are all switchboard problems dressed up as something else.

Every job finishes the same way. We test the circuit, confirm earthing and RCD operation, and issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, which NSW requires. In strata buildings we photograph the board before and after so the owners corporation and the managing agent have a record. If we find something unsafe outside the booked job, we tell you and quote it separately rather than adding it quietly to the invoice.
We quote the job, not the hour. An electrician attends, looks at the actual switchboard, ceiling space or tenancy, and gives you a fixed price in writing before any work starts. If the scope genuinely changes once a wall or a board is open, we stop, explain what changed and agree a new price with you first. No meter running in the background, and no surprise invoice at the end.
Whether it is a switchboard upgrade, new lighting or a full rewire at home, or a fit-out, three-phase supply and planned maintenance for your business, our licensed electricians handle it end to end. You get a fixed price agreed before we start, a tidy site when we leave, and a lifetime labour guarantee on every job across North Sydney and the lower North Shore.
The questions we hear most from North Sydney homeowners, apartment residents and strata committees. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often yes. We take calls from 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday, and North Sydney sits inside our core lower North Shore run, so a van is usually already nearby in Crows Nest, Neutral Bay or Milsons Point. Ring 02 8999 3691 early and tell us whether power is off completely, because dead circuits and burning smells get moved to the front of the day.
We do not publish prices, because a downlight swap in a Miller Street tower and a full board upgrade in an interwar walk-up are not the same job. An electrician attends, inspects the actual site, and gives you a fixed price in writing before any work begins. You approve that figure first. If the scope changes once a board or ceiling is open, we stop and agree a revised price rather than billing the difference afterwards.
Switchboards. With 84.4 per cent of occupied dwellings being flats or apartments at the 2021 Census, most calls come from lot boards sized for a much smaller electrical load than a modern unit carries. It shows up as nuisance tripping, lights dimming when the kettle runs, or one dead circuit while the rest of the block is fine. The fix is almost always upgrading the board and adding proper RCD protection.
That is the first thing we establish, and it decides who pays. Anything from your lot switchboard inward is normally your responsibility as the owner. Risers, submains, common lighting, car park and lobby circuits and the main intake generally sit with the owners corporation. We test to find where the fault actually is, then give you a written finding you can hand to the strata manager so the right party is billed.
Usually, subject to available supply and owners corporation approval. We assess the existing load, check what the lot submain can carry, and confirm the cable route from the board to the car space. EV charging circuits require a Type A or Type B RCD, and Type AC devices cannot be installed in new electrical work in NSW since 1 May 2023. Where the building supply itself is the constraint, we tell you plainly before quoting.
Yes. AS/NZS 3000 requires RCD protection on final subcircuits when a switchboard is replaced or altered, so an upgrade is not simply a like-for-like swap of the old fuses. We also fit the correct device type for each circuit, because Type AC devices cannot be installed in new electrical work in NSW since 1 May 2023. You receive a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work when the board is finished.
Yes, and it is a steady part of our work here. North Sydney office vacancy sat at 23.7 per cent in January 2025 across roughly 941,214 square metres of stock, so floors are constantly being vacated, stripped and re-let. We remove tenant lighting and power additions, make redundant cabling safe, reinstate the base building layout, and provide compliance paperwork for the landlord and the outgoing lease file.
In NSW a rented property needs at least one working smoke alarm on every storey. Repairs or replacements must be carried out within two business days of becoming aware of the problem, hard-wired alarms must be worked on by a licensed electrician, and alarms must be replaced within ten years. We install, replace and test hard-wired alarms across North Sydney units and provide written records for your agent.
Yes, when we are already on site for a booked job. While the electrician is there we look over the switchboard, test RCD operation, check visible cabling and accessible fittings, and point out anything that is unsafe or heading that way. You receive a plain summary of what we found. There is no charge for the check, and no obligation to book any remedial work we identify.
Olympic Electrical has been trading since 2017 under founder Spyro, with a team of five or more licensed electricians who have completed over 7,000 projects for more than 250 customers. We are fully licensed and insured, and every job carries our lifetime labour guarantee. If our workmanship fails, we return and put it right. You also receive a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work for the job.
