Electrical Services We Offer

Residential Electrical Services

Residential Electrician

Green Valley grew out of the Housing Commission estate built between 1961 and 1965, then the largest single housing scheme ever attempted, and its curved streets still follow the land’s contours. Today 82.1 per cent of dwellings are separate houses and 17.0 per cent are townhouses or villas, with an average of 3.6 bedrooms. Many original cottages have been extended or rebuilt, so we handle renovation wiring, full rewires of 1960s homes and switchboard swaps for families running bigger loads.

Commercial Electrical Services

Commercial Electrician

The Valley Plaza at 187 Wilson Road anchors local business, with Coles, Woolworths, a food court, a medical centre and around 36 specialty stores, beside the library and community hall. We handle commercial electrical work for shop tenancies, cool rooms, signage and lighting refits planned around centre hours.

Emergency Electrical Services

Emergency Electrician

Same-day service reaches every loop and crescent in Green Valley, from Falcon Circuit to the streets beside Busby West Public School. Common urgent jobs: a 1960s board failing under summer cooling loads, water in an outdoor outlet after a storm, or a renovation circuit tripping without warning.

Licensed and Trusted Electricians Serving Green Valley

Owner-occupiers drive most of our Green Valley work. The 2021 Census showed 38.1 per cent of homes held with a mortgage, above the NSW rate, and many of those owners are updating original Commission cottages room by room. That means new kitchens that need proper circuits, extensions tied into old boards, and outdoor areas wanting lights and power. When families here search for a Green Valley electrician, they usually want someone who understands how these 1960s homes were first wired.

The suburb’s winding layout means plenty of corner blocks and cul-de-sacs, with room for sheds and backyard studios. Upgrading a board before an air conditioning install, running power to a new rear room, or an emergency electrician visit after a storm trips the whole house are all part of our regular week across South-West Sydney.

What Green Valley Homes and Buildings Need From an Electrician

The estate went up between 1961 and 1965, and many homes still carry small original meter boxes. We replace old fuse panels and add RCD-protected circuits for today’s appliances.

About 17 per cent of dwellings are townhouses or villas. We sort out shared driveway lighting, common meter panels and faults that cross between lots, and report clearly to the owners corporation.

The Valley Plaza on Wilson Road holds two supermarkets, a food court and around 36 specialty shops. We look after tenancy circuits, cool rooms and lighting refits with minimal disruption to trade.

Large blocks on the curved streets leave room for sheds, studios and workshops. We run correctly sized cable, fit a small sub-board with safety switches and install weatherproof outlets outside.

Licensed and Experienced Electrical Experts

Our licensed electricians know the 1960s Housing Commission cottages here, including their original cable routes, small meter boxes and the add-on circuits later owners have hung off them.

Fair Pricing

Clear, Upfront Pricing

You get one fixed written figure after we inspect. A single-storey cottage on Arunta Avenue and a newer townhouse near Falcon Circuit are quoted separately because the work differs.

ABOUT OLYMPIC ELECTRICAL

A Family-Run Electrical Team, Serving Sydney Since 2017

Since Spyro started the business in 2017, the team has grown to more than five licensed electricians, and Green Valley has become a regular stop. The suburb’s 1960s origins shape the work: we spend a lot of time replacing original wiring, fitting larger boards for extended homes and wiring rebuilds on corner blocks. We also help Valley Plaza traders keep their tenancies running. The same electrician usually quotes, completes and signs off your job.

Renovation Electrical Work for Green Valley Homes

Most Green Valley houses date back to the 1961 to 1965 Housing Commission estate, and with 69.3 per cent of homes owned outright or with a mortgage, many owners are now extending or rebuilding them. Renovation wiring comes up constantly here, because the original circuits were never meant for modern kitchens and extensions.

Plan before the walls close: we walk through your plans with the builder, mark power, lighting and data points, and rough-in cable while the frame is open.

Old wiring replaced: where the renovation exposes original cable, we swap it out rather than joining new work onto old insulation that may be failing.

Board upgraded to suit: extensions, induction cooktops and ducted cooling usually need more circuits, so we quote a board replacement with Type A safety switches as part of the plan.

Lighting that fits: new rooms get LED downlights, pendants or fans placed to suit the layout, with switching that makes sense as you walk through.

Safety and Compliance

Every Green Valley job ends with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, which NSW requires once the installation is tested. Plenty of homes here still carry wiring from the 1960s estate build, so if our work uncovers aged or damaged cable we replace it or record it in writing. When a board is changed, AS/NZS 3000 calls for RCD protection on each final subcircuit, and Type AC devices have been ruled out for new work since 1 May 2023.

Transparent Pricing

We look first and then commit to a fixed figure in writing. Estimating by phone rarely works here: a new power point in a recent townhouse near Falcon Circuit may take under an hour, while the same request in an original 1960s cottage can mean replacing brittle cable in a tight roof space first. After we inspect, you get a single number that holds.
