Running a warehouse north of Prospect Creek, a shop on The Horsley Drive or a family home near Brenan Park? Our Smithfield specials also reach Rosford Park, Kaluna Avenue and the Smithfield RSL end of town. Just name the offer when you ring and we credit it.

Smithfield was laid out on a grid in 1838, but most houses date from the long suburban growth that followed. The 2021 Census records 77.3 per cent separate houses, 10.7 per cent semis and townhouses and 10.2 per cent flats, with 43 per cent of homes rented. We rewire older cottages, replace worn boards, add extra power points to crowded kitchens and lay out circuits for villa and duplex builds on subdivided blocks.

Part of the Smithfield-Wetherill Park Industrial Estate, described as the largest in the southern hemisphere, sits inside this suburb, and everything north of Prospect Creek is industrial. For factories, depots and workshops we add three-phase circuits, upgrade high-bay lighting and handle commercial electrical maintenance, plus shopfront work along The Horsley Drive.

Smithfield gets same-day service from us on both sides of Prospect Creek. Urgent jobs we often see: a factory machine circuit dropping out mid-shift, a rental with half its lights out, water in outdoor fittings after a downpour, or a smoking power point in an older cottage.
Smithfield has two very different customer groups. South of Prospect Creek, landlords, tenants and owner-occupiers call us about ageing boards, rental smoke alarm compliance and extra circuits for split systems and new kitchens. North of the creek, factory managers and logistics operators need machine feeds, warehouse lighting and quick repairs when production stops. As a Smithfield electrician we are comfortable moving between a brick cottage on Chifley Street and a busy loading dock the same afternoon.
The suburb has deep roots: it was the first major settlement in what is now Fairfield City, its national school building dates from 1851 and an 1880 slab hut still stands. Newer duplexes now sit beside those early reminders. From the Horsley Drive shops to Dublin Street and the Brenan Park fringe, we handle planned upgrades and urgent electrical faults as part of our regular work across South-West Sydney.

Plenty of Smithfield's separate houses have been rewired only in parts. We test old circuits, replace brittle cable and ceramic fuses, and fit new switchboards with RCD protection so the whole house meets current standards.
The industrial land north of Prospect Creek holds factories, distribution centres and workshops. We run three-phase supply to machinery, install high-bay LEDs and trace faults that trip production lines.
Semis and townhouses make up 10.7 per cent of Smithfield dwellings. We wire new duplex builds, separate metering arrangements where needed and sort common area lighting for small strata schemes.
Council studies record Prospect Creek floods, including February 1990, the worst in Smithfield's history. We check outdoor fittings, raise vulnerable outlets and test circuits once water has gone down.

Our licensed team works across Smithfield’s mix of older cottages, newer duplexes and heavy industrial units, so we arrive knowing what each kind of building usually hides.

A factory lighting upgrade near Prospect Creek and a kitchen circuit in a Dublin Street house are priced separately after inspection, each with a written figure you approve.

If a production line stops in the industrial estate or a Smithfield rental loses power, we move bookings around to get an electrician there as soon as possible.

Among our 250+ customers are Smithfield landlords, shop owners on The Horsley Drive and warehouse managers, many of whom call us back for their next job.

Everything we install in a Smithfield home, shop or factory carries our lifetime guarantee on labour, including machine feeds and high-bay lighting in industrial buildings.

Let us know if it is a home, shop or factory, where to park and any site induction rules. Industrial jobs can be booked around shift changes or shutdown periods.

Once we have inspected the board and the work area, we lay out the scope clearly and send a fixed price in writing for your approval.

Our vans reach Smithfield via The Horsley Drive and Smithfield Road and arrive inside the agreed window. If traffic holds us up, we phone ahead with an update.

We clean up dust, remove old fittings and packaging, and provide the compliance certificate. Industrial clients also receive circuit schedules for their maintenance files.

Spyro set up the business in 2017, and today our team counts five-plus licensed electricians. Smithfield keeps us busy on two fronts: the residential streets south of Prospect Creek and the industrial estate to the north. We rewire cottages, update switchboards for landlords, fit new lighting for shops and handle machine circuits in factories. Whichever side of the creek the job is on, the same electricians carry it through from quote to certificate.

Part of the Smithfield-Wetherill Park Industrial Estate, which is called the largest industrial estate in the southern hemisphere, lies within Smithfield. Road freight transport employs 2.7 per cent of local workers, against 1.0 per cent statewide, so many residents work in the buildings we maintain.

Every Smithfield job, from a cottage to a factory beside Prospect Creek, finishes with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work as NSW law demands. In homes rewired only in parts, any old wiring we disturb is tested and problems are noted in writing. Once a board is changed, AS/NZS 3000 calls for residual current protection across its final subcircuits, and we never fit Type AC devices, which new installations have excluded since 1 May 2023.
Smithfield jobs are priced in writing before work begins. Adding a power point in a brick cottage near Brenan Park is a straightforward visit, while running a three-phase feed to a new machine in the industrial estate involves load calculations, cable runs and scheduled shutdowns. We inspect the site properly, then give one firm figure.
Old fuses in your Smithfield home, a machine circuit that keeps tripping, or a shop on The Horsley Drive needing better lighting? Phone 02 8999 3691. One of our licensed electricians inspects the site, writes up a firm figure and our lifetime labour guarantee covers the finished work.
Smithfield home owners, landlords, shopkeepers and factory managers most often ask us the following. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
In most cases, yes. Our electricians are out from 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm on Saturday, and Smithfield is on routes we cover daily between Fairfield and Wetherill Park. Call 02 8999 3691 early. Sparking, smoke or a factory line that has stopped are treated as priority.
We inspect before we quote. A lighting repair in a townhouse and a machine feed in a warehouse differ enormously in time, parts and planning. After seeing the work, we put one fixed figure in writing. It stays the same unless you ask for additional work partway through.
Yes. Everything north of Prospect Creek in Smithfield is industrial land, part of the huge Smithfield-Wetherill Park estate. We handle three-phase circuits, machine connections, high-bay lighting, exit and emergency lights, and fault finding. We follow site induction and safety procedures and schedule disruptive work around shifts.
Probably. Many Smithfield homes have been extended over decades and still run from boards with ceramic fuses and no safety switches. Those boards cannot protect people from electric shock the way modern RCDs do. We inspect it, test the circuits and quote a new board sized for today’s appliances, air conditioning and any future EV charger.
Keep away from water near any electrical fittings, and switch off the main only if you can reach it safely while standing somewhere dry. Smithfield has a recorded history of Prospect Creek flooding, including February 1990. After water drops, do not restore power yourself. We test every affected circuit, replace wet fittings and confirm the installation is safe.
With 43 per cent of Smithfield homes rented, many landlords ask this. Each level needs a working smoke alarm, repairs must happen within two business days of the tenant reporting a fault, and alarms older than ten years from manufacture need replacing. A licensed electrician must fit hard-wired alarms. We handle the work and provide dated records.
Yes. When an older Smithfield house makes way for a duplex or villas, the new build needs a proper electrical plan. We work with builders from rough-in to final fit-off, plan separate boards and metering where required, and install lighting, power and data. For granny flats we check whether the existing supply can handle the extra load before starting.
We do. Smithfield’s town centre runs along The Horsley Drive, with shops, takeaway outlets and offices. We handle lighting upgrades, extra circuits for commercial kitchens and refrigeration, signage connections and data cabling for point-of-sale systems, arranging noisy work outside trading hours when possible.
Yes. Smithfield averages 1.8 vehicles per dwelling, and most separate houses have a garage or driveway. We check your board capacity, install a dedicated circuit and mount the charger where the car parks. In townhouse complexes, we also help owners work through strata approval for a charger in a shared car park.
All of Smithfield 2164, including The Horsley Drive, Smithfield Road, Dublin, Chifley, Victoria, Brenan and Hassall Streets, Kaluna Avenue, Brenan Park, Rosford Park and the industrial estate north of Prospect Creek. We also work regularly in Wetherill Park, Fairfield West, Fairfield Heights, Yennora, Prairiewood, Fairfield, Old Guildford and Greenfield Park.
