Electrical Services We Offer

Residential Electrical Services

Residential Electrician

Flats make up 46.0 per cent of Fairfield dwellings, more than double the 21.7 per cent NSW figure, while 40.0 per cent are separate houses and 13.4 per cent are townhouses or villas. Many walk-ups form the three-storey ring around the town centre, and plenty of the older cottages trace back to the 1950s Housing Commission push. Our work here covers switchboard replacements for tired meter panels, extra circuits for split systems, and rewiring where old rubber cable still feeds bedrooms.

Commercial Electrical Services

Commercial Electrician

Retail runs along Smart Street and Ware Street, with arcades feeding into Fairfield Forum, Fairfield City Central and the office floors of the Fairfield Chase tower. Bakeries, grills and grocers need freezers, ovens and display fridges kept alive. We provide commercial electrical repairs, tenancy upgrades and lighting changes timed around trading.

Emergency Electrical Services

Emergency Electrician

Our same-day service covers the station end of The Crescent as much as the quieter blocks near Prospect Creek. Typical urgent calls: an old unit board that trips every time the air conditioner starts, a scorched power point in a shop kitchen, or stairwell lights dead across a walk-up.

Licensed and Trusted Electricians Serving Fairfield

Landlords and tenants make up much of our Fairfield work, since the 2021 Census recorded 57.5 per cent of homes as rented. Agents book us between leases, owners corporations call about shared boards in the older walk-ups, and families in 1950s cottages ask for more power points once the kitchen fills with appliances. As a Fairfield local electrician, we also get calls from grocers and restaurants on Ware Street where a single overloaded circuit can shut down a cool room.

Jobs change street by street. Near the station and The Crescent it is shop-top units and small commercial tenancies; out towards Vine Street it is more detached homes with carports and sheds. Tracing a nuisance trip on a strata sub-main, relocating a meter panel during a kitchen remodel, or an emergency electrical callout to a blacked-out takeaway are all regular tasks for us across South-West Sydney.

What Fairfield Homes and Buildings Need From an Electrician

Nearly half of local dwellings are flats, many in three-storey blocks ringing the town centre. We sort out shared sub-mains, faded circuit labels and common lighting, and tell strata plainly which fault belongs to which lot.

With 57.5 per cent of homes leased, managers ask us to swap expired smoke alarms, test every RCD and hand over dated paperwork before the next tenant collects the keys.

Ware Street and Smart Street are lined with bakeries, grills and grocers. We give cool rooms, ovens and display fridges their own circuits so one tripping appliance stops taking down the whole shop.

The town centre sits on alluvial terrace and floodplain soil near Prospect Creek. After heavy rain we test for water in outdoor fittings and meter boxes, then lift or replace anything exposed to damp.

Licensed and Experienced Electrical Experts

Our licensed crew has pulled apart plenty of Fairfield walk-up meter panels and Housing Commission era boards, so we already know where the weak joints and undersized cables usually hide.

Fair Pricing

Clear, Upfront Pricing

Price is settled on paper after we inspect. A unit near Fairfield Forum and a detached home near Vine Street each get their own written figure, because access and cable runs differ.

Emergency Support

When a Smart Street shop loses power mid-morning or a rented flat has sparks at a socket, we shuffle the day’s bookings so a licensed electrician gets there quickly.

ABOUT OLYMPIC ELECTRICAL

A Family-Run Electrical Team, Serving Sydney Since 2017

Spyro started the business in 2017, and it has since grown to more than five licensed electricians who treat Fairfield as part of their regular run. The suburb keeps us sharp: blocks of flats with shared meter rooms, cottages from the post-war housing build, and a town centre full of food businesses that cannot sit in the dark. We handle each of those with the same crew from first visit to sign-off, and we explain the work clearly in plain terms.

Safety Switch Upgrades for Fairfield Units and Walk-Ups

Fairfield has 46.0 per cent of its dwellings as flats and 57.5 per cent rented, both well above the NSW average, so a large share of switchboards here sit in shared meter rooms that were wired decades ago. Many of those boards still protect only one or two circuits with an RCD, which is why safety switch work comes up so often in Fairfield.

Every circuit covered: when a board is altered or replaced, AS/NZS 3000 calls for RCD protection on the final subcircuits, so we fit safety switches of Type A or better across lights and power.

Nuisance trips traced: a combined RCD that drops the whole unit usually hides one leaking appliance or damp outdoor socket. We find the cause instead of simply swapping the device.

Strata access arranged: the meter room key usually sits with a building manager or committee member, so we book access and warn neighbouring lots before isolating anything.

Records for landlords: after testing, the owner or agent gets dated results for each device, which fits neatly with smoke alarm checks between tenancies.

Safety and Compliance

Each Fairfield job closes with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, the NSW record that proves the installation was tested. Much of the housing here went up during the post-war Housing Commission build, so when our work exposes brittle cable we either replace it or flag it in writing. Changing a board means AS/NZS 3000 RCD protection on each final subcircuit, and since 1 May 2023 Type AC units cannot go into new work.

Transparent Pricing

You get a written fixed figure once we have seen the job. Guessing by phone does not work well in Fairfield: adding a circuit to a newer shop-top unit near the station can be quick, while the same request in a 1950s cottage may mean crawling under the floor and replacing old cable first. So we inspect, explain, and then commit to one number.
