Bradbury began as Sherwood Hills, a George Clarke plan built out by Lend Lease from the 1960s, and it was among the first Sydney suburbs laid out with underground power. The 2021 Census found 88.7 per cent separate houses, 7.9 per cent townhouses and 3.2 per cent flats, averaging 3.4 bedrooms. Many homes are now fifty years old, so we rewire older circuits, replace ceramic fuse boards and add outlets where families have long relied on double adaptors.

Bradbury Shopping Centre anchors local retail, and the suburb also has Bradbury Pools and several sports ovals used by rugby league and cricket clubs. For shops, clubs and community buildings we handle lighting upgrades, dedicated equipment circuits, commercial maintenance and exit light testing, planned around opening hours.

Bradbury households get same-day service from us for faults that cannot wait. Common ones here: a fifty-year-old fuse blowing again and again, power lost to the rear of the house after heavy rain, a ceiling rose crackling in a hallway, or a hot, discoloured outlet behind the fridge.
Bradbury is a real mix of owners and tenants. The Census counted 38.9 per cent of homes with a mortgage and 33.3 per cent rented, so we answer to young families, long-time owners and property managers in almost equal measure. As a Bradbury local electrician we know the tree-named streets, from Bottlebrush Avenue to Stringybark Place, and the layout George Clarke drew to slow traffic through them.
Our typical days here include board swaps in original Lend Lease homes, smoke alarm refits for rentals, extra circuits for kitchens that have finally been renovated, and outdoor lighting for backyards that back onto Fishers Ghost Creek. We are also on hand for an urgent electrical fault around Manooka Reserve or The Parkway, and cover the rest of Macarthur from the same base.

Large-scale building started here in the 1960s. Those houses often keep early cable, few circuits and no earth leakage protection. We test first and then modernise what the inspection shows needs attention.
A third of Bradbury homes are rented, slightly above the NSW figure. Agents rely on us to replace expired smoke alarms, test safety switches and keep records ready for each new lease.
Bradbury was one of the earliest suburbs to put power underground. We upgrade the private side from the meter box inward, and point you to the network when a fault sits in the street pillar.
Around 7.9 per cent of dwellings are semis or townhouses. We sort out which faults belong to each unit and which to common property, and brief the strata manager in plain language.

Our licensed team has opened plenty of 1960s and 1970s Lend Lease homes in Bradbury and understands the underground supply layout that makes this suburb different from its neighbours.

We look at the board and roof first, then write a single fixed amount. A townhouse near the shopping centre and a large family house on Jacaranda Avenue each get their own quote.

If a Bradbury rental loses power or an alarm keeps sounding, we slot the callout into that day’s run so tenants and managers are not left chasing an answer.

Our 250+ customers include Bradbury owners, tenants and agents, and many first called us after a neighbour on a nearby crescent recommended the team.

The labour on everything we install in a Bradbury home, from one new outlet to a complete rewire of an original house, is guaranteed for as long as you own it.

Tell us your street and whether a tenant or agent needs to arrange access. We then offer a booking that works around school runs, shifts or the property manager’s keys.

After we have tested the circuits and checked the ceiling space, you get the price in writing, with each item explained so you can decide what to do now or later.

Bradbury’s curving streets and cul-de-sacs are easy to park in, and we arrive within the agreed window. If we are delayed, we phone ahead with a fresh time.

We sweep up plaster dust, bag every offcut and leave the compliance certificate with a short summary, ready to forward to your agent or insurer if needed.

Spyro launched our business in 2017 and it has grown to five-plus licensed electricians and more than 7,000 projects. Bradbury suits us because its homes need exactly what we do well: careful upgrades of original installations and clear advice on what matters most. We spend a lot of time replacing Lend Lease era fuse boards, wiring renovated kitchens and helping landlords keep rentals compliant, always with the same electrician seeing the job through.

Bradbury was established in 1969, and many of its 3,506 private dwellings date from that first Lend Lease building wave. Fifty-plus years on, the original cable and fuse boards are the most common reason Bradbury owners call us.

Bradbury owners receive a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work for every job we do, which NSW law requires and your insurer may ask to see. Original 1970s boards often have rewireable fuses and no RCDs at all. Once we replace or alter one, AS/NZS 3000 means every final subcircuit gains RCD protection, and we use Type A devices because Type AC has been off limits for new work since 1 May 2023.
We price Bradbury jobs only after seeing them, then give you the fixed amount in writing. The spread is real: adding two outlets in a newer townhouse near the shopping centre is straightforward, while the same request in a 1970s brick house off The Parkway may involve tracing old cable, a crowded fuse panel and a low roof space. The written quote reflects what we found.
Ready to replace those old fuses or get a Bradbury rental compliant? Call 02 8999 3691 and a licensed electrician will inspect, explain the options and confirm the cost in writing. We can also attend faults the same day, and every job carries our lifetime labour guarantee.
Bradbury homeowners, tenants and the agents who manage local rentals ask these questions most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Usually. We work from 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday, and Bradbury sits right on our Campbelltown route. If you phone 02 8999 3691 before lunch we can often attend that afternoon. Burning smells, smoke or a board that will not reset are handled first.
We never guess a price over the phone. We visit, check the board and the roof space, and then send a written fixed price. In Bradbury the difference between an easy job in a townhouse and a harder one in an original 1970s house can be large, so seeing it first keeps the quote honest.
In most cases, yes. Many Bradbury homes were built in the late 1960s and 1970s with rewireable fuses and no RCDs. Fuses give no protection against electric shock, and old wire can be replaced with the wrong rating. A new board with RCDs is the biggest single safety improvement you can make. We test the cable at the same time and tell you whether any circuits need replacing.
It depends where the fault is. Bradbury was one of the earliest Sydney suburbs built with underground powerlines, so supply arrives through street pits and pillars. Anything in the street or the service cable is Endeavour Energy territory, and we do not work on network assets. From your meter box inward, including the board, submains and circuits, we can find and fix the problem.
Each level needs a working alarm, a fault the tenant reports must be repaired within two business days, and any alarm past ten years from its manufacture date must be replaced. Hard-wired alarms must be fitted by a licensed electrician. With about a third of local homes rented, we do a lot of this, plus alarm testing between tenancies with dated records.
Generally, wiring from your own unit’s board through your rooms belongs to you, while shared meter panels, driveway lighting and common area circuits belong to the owners corporation. Bradbury has a fair number of villa and townhouse groups. We trace the fault, tell you which side it falls on and provide a written report for the strata manager.
It can be. Many Bradbury homes have added split systems over the years, sometimes on circuits that also run kitchen outlets. On hot days the extra load can trip breakers or overheat tired connections. We give air conditioners their own circuits, tighten and check terminations at the board, and fit ceiling fans that help reduce reliance on cooling.
Yes, if the supply and board can carry it. Most Bradbury houses have a driveway or garage, which makes charging practical. We measure the spare capacity, run a dedicated circuit to the charger and add load management where the supply is tight. If your board is still fused, we quote the upgrade at the same time.
Yes. On any booked job we look over the board, test the RCDs and point out damaged outlets or scorched fittings, without charging extra for that look. For owners of original Bradbury homes it is a simple way to find out where the installation stands.
All of our electricians are licensed in NSW and fully insured. Spyro founded the business in 2017, and the team now numbers five-plus electricians with over 7,000 projects completed. Labour on every job has a lifetime guarantee, and each job is covered by the compliance certificate NSW requires.
