Living off Francis Greenway Drive, in the Benedictine Abbey Estate or near the Lakes of Cherrybrook? This season’s Cherrybrook specials also apply around Appletree Shops and the metro station car park streets. Mention it while booking and we knock it off the final invoice.

Cherrybrook was Sydney’s first project home village, subdivided in February 1959, and the rural leftovers filled quickly during the 1980s. Census 2021 found 81.5 per cent separate houses, 17.2 per cent townhouses or semis and just 1.2 per cent flats, while 71.8 per cent of homes have four or more bedrooms. Cut-and-fill blocks, split-level floor plans and original boards from those two building waves mean we do plenty of board replacements, ceiling fan installs and extra outlets for study nooks.

Business here is small scale: Cherrybrook Village Shopping Centre, opened in 1989 around a Woolworths, the Appletree Shops cafes and bakery, plus churches, preschools and medical rooms. We handle lighting refits, tenancy circuits and commercial maintenance timed so trading carries on.

Any Cherrybrook street can get same-day service, from Purchase Road to the edge of the Berowra bushland. Typical urgent calls: a split-level home losing its lower floor after a storm, a pool pump shorting, or a burnt smell from a light switch in an ageing 1980s board.
Families make up most of our Cherrybrook work, and the numbers explain why: 60.7 per cent of families here are couples with children, and the average home has 3.8 bedrooms. Parents book us as their Cherrybrook electrician for study desks that need more power, teenager retreats over the garage, outdoor lighting for the trampoline area and additional power points in kitchens that have outgrown their benches. With 5.9 per cent of workers in computer system design, home offices come up a lot too.
The Benedictine Abbey Estate, released from 1986, and the older 1959 streets near New Line Road each bring their own wiring habits. Townhouse groups add strata questions, and blocks backing onto bush reserves attract storm faults. If a circuit dies and will not reset, call an emergency electrician; Cherrybrook sits among our steady routes across the Hills District.

Exhibition homes went up on cut-and-fill sites from 1959. Stepped floors and half-buried lower rooms make cable runs tricky, so we plan routes that avoid chasing brick and damp lower walls.
About 17.2 per cent of Cherrybrook dwellings are townhouses or semis. We separate lot wiring from shared driveway lighting and supply, then report plainly to owners and the strata manager.
Fire trails of the Berowra Bushland Reserve run behind many streets. Storms bring down branches and moisture into outdoor fittings, so we fit sealed lights and check safety switch coverage outside.
Large backyards here often hold a pool or spa. We run dedicated pump and heater supply, fit weatherproof outlets clear of splash zones and keep every wet-area circuit behind RCD protection.

Our licensed electricians have been inside Cherrybrook homes from both the 1959 project village and the 1980s release, so split levels and cut-and-fill slabs do not surprise us.

We look first, then put a fixed amount on paper. A Tallowwood Avenue townhouse and a five-bedroom house near Greenway Park receive separate quotes built on what we actually see.

When a Cherrybrook family loses power to the fridge and study before a work-from-home day, we shuffle our route to reach them the same day wherever possible.

Among our 250+ customers are Cherrybrook parents, retirees who own outright and townhouse committees, many referred by neighbours from school gates at John Purchase or Cherrybrook Public.

If our workmanship on a Cherrybrook circuit ever fails, we come back and repair it under our lifetime labour guarantee, including cable pulled through split-level cavities and under tiled floors where access is hard.

Send your address and describe the fault. We can steer clear of the school rush near Cherrybrook Technology High, the state’s biggest government high school, when choosing your arrival time.

Once the board and roof access are checked, you get a plain explanation and a written fixed figure. Nothing is started until you have agreed to that number.

Where your driveway has room, the van parks there rather than on the kerb. We arrive in the agreed slot, and if New Line Road traffic slows us we ring before the window closes.

Floors are protected, ceiling offcuts collected and rubbish removed. Before leaving we test every circuit touched and hand over the compliance paperwork with a list of changes.

Nearby suburbs we also serve

From Spyro’s first jobs in 2017 we have grown into a five-plus team of licensed electricians, with Cherrybrook one of the Hornsby Shire suburbs we visit most. The work suits us: established family homes needing more capacity, townhouse groups wanting clear strata advice, and small shops at the village centre that need things fixed before opening. We explain, quote once in writing and guarantee our labour, which is why Cherrybrook referrals keep arriving.

Spyro speaking. If your Cherrybrook board still has old rewireable fuses, or the study keeps tripping when the heater runs, tell me about it on 02 8999 3691 and we will lock in a time to come round.

Cherrybrook homes average 3.8 bedrooms and 38.3 per cent of working residents are professionals, so spare rooms have become offices while kids need their own study spaces. Original circuits laid out for a 1960s or 1980s household rarely have enough outlets or capacity for that.

Cherrybrook customers receive a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work at the end of every job, confirming that what we installed was tested and meets NSW rules. Homes from the 1959 village or the 1980s release often carry decades of owner additions, so anything unsafe that we uncover is repaired or written up. Replacing or altering a board triggers AS/NZS 3000 RCD cover for every final subcircuit, and the Type AC ban that started on 1 May 2023 keeps those devices out of anything new we install.
Our Cherrybrook quotes are a single fixed price, written down after an inspection. Estimates by phone rarely hold here, because swapping lights in a single-storey townhouse off Tallowwood Avenue is simple, while the same job in a split-level house on a sloping block may mean crawling under floors and tracing cable across two levels. We look, explain the work and then stand by that amount.
Need power for a new home office, lights for the pool area or a safer board in your Macquarie Drive home? Ring 02 8999 3691. We inspect in person, send one written fixed price and back the workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee.
Cherrybrook parents, townhouse owners, retirees and village shop tenants tend to bring up. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often the same day. Monday to Friday our hours are 7am to 5:30pm, Saturday 7am to 2pm, and 2126 falls on a route we drive constantly. An early ring on 02 8999 3691 gives the best odds of seeing us that afternoon. Sparking, a hot switch or a smell of burning plastic is treated as urgent.
After a look, not before. Adding a circuit to a single-level townhouse is quick, but a split-level home on a cut-and-fill block can hide cable behind retaining walls and under suspended floors. We inspect, walk you through what the job involves and send a fixed written price. It stays put unless you decide to add something.
In Cherrybrook split levels the lower floor is often partly below ground, so damp, water entry after heavy rain and older outdoor connections can trip one circuit. It can also be an overloaded or failing safety switch. We test insulation, find the faulty section and repair it, and if the board is past its best we quote a replacement at the same time.
Not always, but boards from the 1980s building wave can have only one or two RCDs, or none, and some still carry rewireable fuses. That offers limited protection for a household running ducted air, pool gear and several computers. We test what you have and tell you straight whether a partial fix or a full safety switch upgrade makes sense.
Driveway lights, letterbox lighting and the main supply to the complex are generally common property, so the owners corporation looks after them. Wiring from your own board through your home is yours. Townhouses and semis make up about 17.2 per cent of Cherrybrook dwellings, so we sort this out often and give both sides a clear written report.
For many households, yes. Cherrybrook averages two vehicles per dwelling and 81.5 per cent of homes are separate houses, so garage charging is usually possible. First we measure how much headroom the board has left, then lay a new feed into the garage and fix the charger at a height that suits your car. Townhouse owners need the committee’s sign-off before we start.
Storms and wildlife cause most of the trouble. Falling branches damage outdoor lights, water gets into poorly sealed junction boxes and possums chew roof cabling. We fit sealed fittings, replace damaged cable and make sure outdoor circuits have their own RCD, so a wet garden light does not knock out the whole home.
Yes. We run a dedicated supply for pumps, chlorinators and heaters, place outlets away from splash zones and add garden and deck lighting on protected circuits. If your board is already full, we tell you before quoting and include any extra work in the one fixed price, so the pool season starts without surprises.
We do. For cafes, bakeries, medical rooms and small retailers we install lighting, add circuits for equipment, fit exit and emergency lights and handle ongoing maintenance. We plan disruptive work before opening so trading is not affected, and liaise with centre management when shared switch rooms need access.
They are. Each one carries a current NSW electrical licence, and the business holds full insurance cover. Founded by Spyro in 2017, the business has now completed 7,000+ projects for 250+ customers. Paperwork for compliance follows each visit, and a lifetime promise on our labour means a faulty joint of ours is fixed at no charge.
