Lighting, power points, ceiling fans, switchboard and safety switch upgrades, smoke alarms, rewiring and fault finding – we look after every part of a home’s electrical system. Epping changed shape fast. Separate houses fell from 55.5 per cent of dwellings in 2016 to 42.6 per cent in 2021 while apartments rose from 32.2 to 47.4 per cent, so Federation and interwar homes now sit alongside new towers around the station. We work on both.

Rawson Street, Bridge Street and Beecroft Road on one side of the line, and Oxford Street and Langston Place on the other, carry the town centre: supermarkets, cafes, medical suites, tutoring colleges and offices above the shops. We cover fit-outs, three-phase supply, data cabling, emergency and exit lighting, and maintenance planned around your trading hours.

We provide same-day service across Epping, East Epping, the Essex Street and Rosebank Avenue areas and the town centre. Failed switchboards, dead common-property lighting, tripping circuits and water-affected wiring all get the same response: we make the site safe first, then quote.
At Olympic Electrical, we are proud to be the electricians Epping families, strata committees and business owners trust. Every job is handled by fully licensed tradespeople with years of experience behind them and a standard of work we stand by.
Whether it is a straightforward installation, a switchboard upgrade, power out to a shed or studio, or an emergency electrician at short notice, we are equipped for it. We are more than just electricians – we are the local electrician experts across the Northern Suburbs, for every job big and small.
We are just a call away – wherever you are in Epping, from the Rawson Street and Oxford Street town centre through East Epping, Essex Street, Rosebank Avenue, Dence Park and West Epping, we get an electrician to you fast.

Almost half of Epping dwellings are now flats, most of them built since the 2013 town centre rezoning. We trace faults across shared switchboards, rising mains, basement and common-area lighting, then write it up for your strata manager.
Homes in the East Epping, Essex Street and Rosebank Avenue conservation areas often still run early cabling on ceramic fuses. We rewire, fit a modern board with safety switches and keep the street frontage untouched.
A cafe, clinic or college on Rawson Street or Oxford Street trips out when everything starts at once. We assess the supply, split the load across dedicated circuits and install compliant lighting, power and exit signage.
Around 42 per cent of Epping homes are rented, so alarm callouts are constant. We repair or replace hard-wired alarms inside the legal window, check one is fitted on every storey and leave dated records.

All our electricians are fully licensed, insured, and continuously trained to stay current with industry standards. We bring years of hands-on experience to every project, making sure your electrical work is done safely and to the highest possible standard.

From the first quote to the final invoice, you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for. Our clear communication and honest approach help you plan your project with complete confidence.

When something goes wrong, it goes to the front of the queue. Our electricians respond quickly and offer same-day service, so power and safety are restored without a long wait.

We’re proud to be a top-rated Sydney electrician, with 250+ happy customers and a long list of five-star reviews behind us. That reputation is built on turning up, doing the job properly and standing behind it.

We back the quality of our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee. This means you can have total confidence knowing that if any issues arise due to our work, we’ll return promptly to make it right — no extra cost, no hassle.

Booking us is easy — call, send an email, or fill out our quick online form, and we will find a time that works around your day. Our friendly team responds promptly and takes the time to understand exactly what you need.

Once we understand the scope of your project, we’ll provide a detailed and transparent quote outlining all costs upfront. We believe in honesty and clear communication, ensuring there are no hidden fees or last-minute surprises.

We turn up inside the window we promised, and if anything changes you hear from us first. Our electricians are punctual, prepared and respectful of your home or business from the moment they arrive.

Our electricians treat every property — whether it’s a home or business — with the utmost respect. We work efficiently, maintain a tidy workspace, and thoroughly clean up after the job is completed.

Olympic Electrical started in 2017 with one van, a licence and a simple promise: turn up when we say we will, and charge what we quoted. Spyro still runs the business the same way today, and the team has grown to five-plus licensed electricians working across Sydney and through Epping and the Northern Suburbs every week.
You deal with tradespeople, not a call centre. The electrician who quotes your job is the electrician who does it, the site is left clean, and the workmanship is backed by a lifetime labour guarantee. That is how we have built a base of more than 250 happy customers and thousands of completed jobs.

The railway reached Epping in 1886 and the suburb filled in from there: Federation homes, then interwar bungalows through the 1920s and 30s, then post-war brick. A lot of that housing is still running on its original board, and three heritage conservation areas mean the work has to be done without leaving marks on the street frontage.

Every job we complete is covered by a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, as New South Wales requires. Where we replace or alter a switchboard, AS/NZS 3000 requires RCD protection on the final subcircuits, so that work is brought up to standard rather than patched around. Type AC safety switches have not been permitted in new electrical work since 1 May 2023, so we fit Type A or Type B as the circuit demands.
We quote the job, and the fixed price is agreed before work starts. Published rates mean little in Epping, because a lighting circuit in a new tower off Rawson Street and the same job in an interwar bungalow on Essex Street involve very different access, cable runs and making good. So we look at the property, explain what the work involves, and put the figure in writing.
Whether it is a switchboard upgrade, new lighting or a full rewire at home, or a fit-out, three-phase supply and planned maintenance for your business, our licensed electricians handle it end to end. You get a fixed price agreed before we start, a tidy site when we leave, and a lifetime labour guarantee on every job across Epping and the Northern Suburbs.
The questions we hear most from Epping homeowners, apartment residents and strata committees. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Yes, in most cases. We work Monday to Friday from 7am to 5:30pm and Saturday from 7am to 2pm, and Epping is a short run for our vans. Call 02 8999 3691 early and we will usually get someone to you the same day. If the fault is a safety risk, such as a burning smell or a dead switchboard, it goes to the front of the list.
We do not publish prices, because no two Epping jobs are the same. A power point in a new tower off Rawson Street and a rewire in an interwar bungalow near Essex Street carry very different labour, access and making good. We attend, look at the actual work, and give you a fixed price agreed before anything starts. The quote covers materials, labour, testing and the compliance certificate.
Ageing switchboards in the older housing, and overloaded shared boards in the newer blocks. Federation and interwar homes around Essex Street and Rosebank Avenue often still run ceramic rewireable fuses with no safety switches, while apartments wired to a base spec now carry induction cooktops, dryers and split systems. We replace the board, test every circuit and fit RCD protection where the standard requires it.
Almost half of Epping dwellings are now flats, so we field this constantly. As a rough guide, wiring inside your lot from the point it branches off common property is usually the owner responsibility, while the shared switchboard, rising mains, meter panels, stairwell lighting and car park lighting are common property. We attend, identify which side of that line the fault sits on, and write it up so your strata manager has something clear to act on.
Yes. Type AC safety switches have not been allowed in new electrical work since 1 May 2023, and an EV charger needs Type A or Type B protection depending on the charger and the installation. We check the existing supply, the switchboard capacity and the cable route from the board to the bay or garage, then quote a compliant install. In the town centre towers that usually means a basement bay, so owners corporation approval is normally needed first.
Less than most people expect, and we plan it around you. We work room by room and stage the changeover so the house is not left without power overnight. Cable runs go through roof and subfloor spaces wherever they can, which keeps wall damage to small patches at switch and outlet positions. Before we start you get a written scope covering the circuits, the board, the making good and the compliance certificate.
It affects how, not whether. The East Epping, Essex Street and Rosebank Avenue areas were identified as heritage conservation areas in the Epping Town Centre Heritage Review, and the area moved from Hornsby Shire to the City of Parramatta in the 2016 boundary change. Internal rewiring and switchboard work generally proceed normally. We plan routes so nothing new is surface-mounted on a street-facing elevation, and anything visible from the street is worth checking with council first.
In New South Wales a rented home needs a working smoke alarm on every storey. Landlords must repair or replace a faulty alarm within two business days of being told about it, and alarms must be replaced within ten years of the manufacture date. Hard-wired alarms must be worked on by a licensed electrician. With around 42 per cent of Epping homes rented we do this work constantly, and we leave you dated records.
When we are already on site for a booked job, the safety check costs nothing. We look over the switchboard, test the safety switches, check the smoke alarms and look for obvious hazards such as scorched outlets, loose fittings or perished cabling. You get a plain summary of what we found, what is urgent and what can wait. There is no obligation to book any of it.
Every electrician on the team is licensed and insured. We have been trading since 2017 under founder Spyro, with more than five licensed electricians on the tools, over 250 customers and more than 7,000 projects behind us. We back our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee, so if something we installed fails because of our work, we come back and fix it.
