Orchards, poultry sheds and piggeries covered this ridge until rezoning around 1958 opened estates such as Lynwood. Today 78.1 per cent of dwellings are detached houses, 7.8 per cent townhouses and 14.1 per cent units, per the 2021 Census. Owners are settled: 35.6 per cent own outright against 31.5 per cent statewide. Many homes from those early estates still run original cabling, so we handle partial and full rewires, extra kitchen circuits and lighting upgrades room by room.

North Rocks Shopping Centre on North Rocks Road holds Coles, Kmart and over 70 specialty stores, and the light industrial estates around Loyalty Road host manufacturers and warehouses. For shops, factories and offices we provide three-phase circuits, machine isolation, data cabling and planned maintenance.

Same-day service reaches all of North Rocks, from Barclay Road down to the Loyalty Road estates. Common urgent jobs here: a storm-soaked outdoor light tripping the house, an old rewireable fuse blowing again, or a factory machine circuit failing mid-shift.
Long-term owners make up much of our North Rocks client list. The Census puts the median age at 40, and plenty of homes have had the same family since the estates went in. They call us to replace tired fuse boards, add outlets to rooms that once had one, fit energy-saving downlights and prepare houses for sale or for adult children moving back. As a North Rocks electrician we also look after units and townhouse complexes off North Rocks Road.
The work varies with the terrain. Streets backing onto Bidjigal Reserve and Hunts Creek bring storm faults and wet outdoor fittings, while the Loyalty Road side is mostly machinery and warehouse lighting. When something fails badly, such as a smoking switch or a total loss of power, an emergency electrician is sent out, as we do elsewhere across the Hills District.

Bidjigal Reserve wraps the north and west of the suburb. Wind, rain and falling branches damage outdoor lights and garden outlets, so we replace them with weatherproof fittings on RCD-protected circuits.
About 35.6 per cent of homes are fully paid off, well above the NSW figure. Long-term owners ask us to add outlets, modernise lighting and make homes easier to live in as they age.
Nearly 22 per cent of dwellings are townhouses or units. We trace faults to either the lot or common property, repair garage and path lighting and report clearly to the strata manager.
The light industrial area toward North Parramatta houses manufacturers, suppliers and offices. We install three-phase outlets, machine isolators and high-bay LED lighting, and schedule shutdowns outside production hours.

North Rocks meter boxes are familiar territory; our licensed crew has opened plenty dating from the post-1958 estates and knows where early PVC cabling and overloaded circuits tend to fail in those houses.

We inspect first, then write down a fixed amount. A townhouse near the Lawndale Avenue shops and a family home by Muirfield Golf Club get separate, honest quotes.

A dead circuit after a storm rolls off Bidjigal Reserve, or a shop outage near North Rocks Road, moves up our schedule so power returns quickly and safely.

Over 250 customers have rated our work, including retirees along Barclay Road, young families near North Rocks Public School and warehouse managers around Loyalty Road.

Labour on every job we complete in North Rocks is guaranteed for life, whether it is one new outlet or a complete rewire of an early estate home.

Call or book online with your address and any access details, such as a steep driveway, a battleaxe block or gate code, and we suggest a time that suits.

After checking the board and cable condition we explain what is safe to keep and what needs replacing, then send you one fixed quote in writing.

We arrive in the agreed window and ring ahead if the M2 or Pennant Hills Road holds us up, so nobody waits at home wondering.

Floors are protected, ceiling access hatches closed, rubbish goes in our van, and the compliance certificate arrives with a short list of what we altered.

Local pockets we cover in North Rocks
Nearby suburbs we also serve

North Rocks has been on our regular run almost since Spyro opened the doors in 2017, and our five-plus licensed electricians are in the suburb most weeks. The suburb rewards careful work: mature homes with original boards, bushland streets that feel every storm, and an industrial pocket where downtime costs money. The same crew plans, completes and signs off each job, whether it is a single circuit for a retiree or a warehouse lighting refit.

Housing estates replaced North Rocks farms after rezoning around 1958, and many of those homes have outlived their first switchboard. With 35.6 per cent of homes owned outright and long-term owners common, we see more original fuse panels here than in the newer Hills suburbs.

Whatever we do at a North Rocks address, you are handed a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, the state’s proof of a legal job. Homes built after the 1958 rezoning often have decades of added circuits, so any board we touch receives RCD protection across its final subcircuits under AS/NZS 3000. Type AC devices are ruled out for new work from 1 May 2023, and we note any unsafe older wiring in writing.
You receive a fixed price in writing before we lift a tool. A quote made without looking rarely holds in North Rocks: adding lighting to a ground-floor unit near North Rocks Road is straightforward, while the same job in an older detached house near Bidjigal Reserve, with a cramped roof space and original cable, takes more time. We inspect, then commit to one figure.
Ageing fuse board, storm-damaged garden lights or a warehouse on Loyalty Road that needs more power? Ring 02 8999 3691. A licensed tradesperson inspects on site, prices the work in black and white, and our lifetime labour promise covers what we install.
Here is what North Rocks owners, retirees, strata committees and business operators most often want to know. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often on the day you call. Vans roll between 7am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday, and between 7am and 2pm on Saturday, with no Sunday work. North Rocks sits between several suburbs we visit daily, so ringing 02 8999 3691 before lunch gives the best chance of a same-day slot. Burning smells and outages come first.
We never quote blind. Two jobs that sound alike can differ greatly in North Rocks, because access in a single-storey brick home is easy while a two-storey house with a tight roof space needs extra time. After the site visit you get a fixed written number; extras happen only when you request them.
In most cases, yes. Many North Rocks homes went up after the area was rezoned around 1958 and still carry ceramic fuses with little or no RCD protection. Those boards cannot protect people the way a modern board does. We test the existing wiring, replace the board with breakers and safety switches, and tell you honestly which circuits need rewiring.
Storm exposure is the main one. Wind and rain drive water into outdoor lights, garden outlets and pool equipment, and falling branches can damage sheds and fittings. We fit weatherproof fittings on protected circuits and check outdoor cabling. If a branch brings down wires on the street, stay away and call 000; network lines are not something we repair.
Usually the circuits inside your unit from your own meter or board are yours, while shared lighting, driveway gates and main boards belong to common property. North Rocks has a solid mix of townhouses and units, so we often trace faults and give both the owner and strata manager one clear written report.
Yes. Many North Rocks homeowners have lived here for decades. We relocate switches to reachable heights, add brighter lighting on stairs and paths, install outlets beside beds and chairs, fit ceiling fans with wall controls, and add sensor lights at entries. Small changes like these make an existing home safer without major renovation work.
We do. The estates around Loyalty Road hold manufacturers, suppliers and offices. We install three-phase power, machine isolators, high-bay LED lighting, emergency and exit lighting, and data points. Work that needs the power off is booked outside production hours, and each job comes with test records for your compliance files.
Landlords must have a working alarm on every level, fix any fault a tenant reports inside two business days, and retire each alarm before its tenth birthday. Only a licensed electrician may fit hard-wired units. We replace old smoke alarms, test interconnection and supply dated reports your agent can file. Around 23.8 per cent of local homes are rented, so this is regular work for us.
Usually, yes. Most North Rocks houses have a garage or carport, but older boards may lack capacity. We assess the existing supply, recommend a board upgrade if needed, run a dedicated protected circuit and mount the charger close to where you park, then test it with your vehicle.
