Near Winston Hills Mall on Junction Road, the Chisholm Centre, the Lomond Centre or the Rebecca Parade shops? Our current Winston Hills deals also cover Model Farms and the Buckleys Hill streets. Say you saw the offer when booking and we take it off the job.

Hooker Rex began building Winston Hills in the 1960s, so much of the housing is now around 60 years old. The 2021 Census counted 88.1 per cent separate houses, 7.2 per cent flats and 4.8 per cent townhouses, with 39.6 per cent of homes on three bedrooms. Original 1960s homes often need rewiring, new boards and more circuits, while newer Buckleys Hill homes, built from 2009, mostly want EV chargers, fans and smart lighting.

Winston Hills Mall on Junction Road anchors local trade with a discount department store, supermarkets, a food court and more than 75 specialty shops. Smaller strips sit at the Chisholm Centre, the Lomond Centre and Rebecca Parade. We handle shop electrical maintenance, lighting and refrigeration faults.

Our same-day service handles what 1960s Winston Hills homes throw up: rewireable fuses blowing when the kettle and heater run together, a hot switchboard in a hallway cupboard, or a laundry circuit tripping after rain seeps into an outdoor outlet.
A large share of Winston Hills owners bought decades ago, with 38.8 per cent now owning outright, and their homes still run parts of the Hooker Rex era wiring. As a Winston Hills electrician we spend many days replacing fuse boards, adding outlets to kitchens designed for fewer appliances and upgrading lighting in lounges off Churchill Drive and Moxhams Road. Newer arrivals, often young families, want those same houses modernised before they move in.
The suburb crosses from the City of Parramatta into The Hills Shire, and its street names honour writers, prime ministers and scientists, including Edison, Volta and Marconi, a nice nod for a trade built on their work. Beyond homes, we look after shop tenants at the mall and smaller centres, and we provide urgent repairs when an ageing board fails. All of it forms part of our week across the Hills District.

Development started in the 1960s, and many originals still carry old fuse boards, few power points and ageing cable. We rewire in stages, add earthing where needed and fit RCD-protected boards.
The Late Victorian house on Lanhams Road from the 1880s and Buckley House from about 1891 predate the estate by decades. Older buildings like these need careful cable routes that protect original fabric.
The last big vacant parcel at Buckleys Hill began development in 2009. These homes typically need EV chargers, extra outdoor power, ceiling fans and data points rather than full rewires.
Winston Hills Mall holds over 75 specialty shops, and smaller strips trade at the Chisholm and Lomond centres. We fix lighting, refrigeration and signage circuits outside trading hours where possible.

Our licensed team has opened up many 1960s Hooker Rex homes around Lanhams Road and Caroline Chisholm Drive, and knows where original cabling tends to run and fail.

We visit, test and then quote one written figure. An original 1960s house on Oakes Road and a unit near the mall each get an individual price.

If fuses keep blowing or a board overheats in an older Winston Hills home, we shuffle our schedule to reach you that day wherever possible.

Over 250 customers have reviewed us, including Winston Hills families, landlords and mall tenants who called after a neighbour on the same street recommended us.

Every circuit we run in a Winston Hills home or shop has its labour guaranteed for life, including rewires inside original 1960s walls and ceilings.

Book a slot that suits you and let us know about steep driveways, pets or side access. Weekday mornings and Saturdays both work for Winston Hills jobs.

We inspect the board and existing wiring, explain what we find in everyday language, and give you one written figure before a single cable is touched.

Our van reaches you within the agreed window via Windsor Road or Churchill Drive. If traffic delays us, we ring before the time passes, not after.

Old fuses, cable scraps and fittings leave with us, floors are covered while we work, and you get the compliance certificate plus a plain summary of the changes.

Local pockets we cover in Winston Hills
Nearby suburbs we also serve

Spyro launched the business in 2017, and it has grown into a crew of five-plus licensed electricians who treat older homes with patience. Winston Hills gives us plenty of that work, because so much of the suburb went up during the 1960s. On a typical visit we are replacing a fuse board, running new kitchen circuits, fitting LED lighting or sorting a tripping fault for a mall tenant on Junction Road.

Hooker Rex started building Winston Hills in the 1960s, and 88.1 per cent of dwellings are still separate houses, many with their first wiring. Rewiring those homes, fully or in stages, is the job we quote here more than almost anything else.

A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work follows every Winston Hills job we finish, as NSW requires. In 1960s homes we often uncover cable that has been extended many times. Once we alter or replace the board, AS/NZS 3000 brings residual current protection onto each final subcircuit, and anything we fit is Type A or better, since Type AC devices have been banned in new installations since 1 May 2023.
Every Winston Hills quote is a fixed written figure agreed before work begins. Adding a circuit in a Buckleys Hill home built after 2009 can be quick, as cable paths are clear. The same job in a 1960s Hooker Rex home with a low roof and old cable may take much longer, so we inspect first and then price.
Ceramic fuses in the hallway, a kitchen short of outlets, or a mall shop with lights flickering? Call 02 8999 3691 and a licensed electrician will inspect the job, give you a written fixed quote and guarantee the labour for life in Winston Hills.
Winston Hills homeowners, landlords, young families and shop tenants at the mall bring us these questions most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Most days, yes. Our electricians are out from 7am until 5:30pm on weekdays and from 7am to 2pm on Saturdays; Sundays are closed. Winston Hills sits right on our Parramatta and Baulkham Hills runs, so an early call to 02 8999 3691 gives the best odds of a same-day visit. Burning smells or hot switches are prioritised.
We look first, then agree a fixed written price. In Winston Hills the age of the house changes everything: a newer Buckleys Hill home has easy cable paths, while a 1960s home may have a tight roof space and old cabling that needs testing. The figure we give you covers the scope we agreed, and extra work only happens if you approve it.
Usually, yes. Rewireable fuses offer no protection against electric shock, and a fuse repaired with the wrong wire can let a circuit overheat. Replacing the board lets us add RCD protection on every circuit, label everything clearly and create room for air conditioning, induction cooking or a charger. We test the existing wiring at the same time and tell you if any runs should be replaced.
We test it. Many Winston Hills homes built in the 1960s have been partly updated over the years, so some circuits are fine while others are tired. Insulation resistance and earth tests show which runs are failing. We then give you a clear list, starting with anything unsafe, so you can rewire in stages if that suits better.
Yes. The suburb lists a Late Victorian house on Lanhams Road from the 1880s and Buckley House on Buckleys Road from about 1891, as well as the Toongabbie Government Farm archaeological site on Goliath Avenue. For houses of that age we route new cable through existing voids, avoid cutting original features and discuss council requirements with the owner before starting.
Ask us for a pre-move inspection. We check the board, test RCDs, look for DIY additions, count outlets in the kitchen and bedrooms and confirm smoke alarms are working and in date. Buyers in older suburbs like this often find it easier to rewire or add circuits before furniture goes in, and the report helps with budgeting.
About 12.8 per cent of homes here are rented. NSW landlords must have a working smoke alarm on every level, repair a faulty alarm within two business days of being told, and replace alarms once they reach ten years from manufacture. Hard-wired alarms need a licensed electrician. We also test safety switches and leave written records for the landlord or agent.
Normally, yes, though older boards often need work first. Households here average 1.9 vehicles and most homes have a garage or carport. We check the supply capacity, run a separate protected circuit to the parking spot and mount the charger. If your board still has fuses, we quote the upgrade and charger together so it happens in one visit.
We do. Tenants at the mall on Junction Road, the Chisholm Centre, the Lomond Centre and Rebecca Parade call us for lighting upgrades, LED downlights, refrigeration faults, signage circuits and emergency lighting checks. We work with centre management on access and plan any shutdown before trading or after close.
We cover all of Winston Hills 2153, including Junction Road, Caroline Chisholm Drive, Churchill Drive, Moxhams Road, Lanhams Road, Buckleys Road, Oakes Road, Model Farms, Buckleys Hill and the mall precinct. We also work each week in Baulkham Hills, Seven Hills, North Rocks, Kings Langley, Parramatta, Oatlands, Bella Vista and Norwest.
