Fiddletown is almost entirely detached homes on big rural lots. The 2021 Census recorded 98.5 per cent separate houses, compared with 65.6 per cent across NSW, and 66.2 per cent of dwellings had four or more bedrooms, averaging 3.9 each. Homes range from long-held farm cottages to large modern residences set well back from the road. We run new circuits and rewires to studios and granny flats, add extra outlets in sheds and workshops, and upgrade tired boards feeding bore pumps and irrigation.

Paid work in Fiddletown centres on the land and one big campus. Northholm Grammar, open since the early 1980s, sits on roughly ten hectares off Cobah Road, while orchards and rural holdings fill the surrounding primary production blocks. For them we install shed lighting, sub-boards, cool room supply and maintenance for farm and school buildings.

Fiddletown lots get our same-day service right out to the Marramarra National Park boundary. Typical urgent jobs out here: a bore or dam pump that has stopped with the tanks running low, a storm-damaged sub-main feeding a far shed, and a main switch that trips each time the irrigation starts.
Families on acreage make up most of our Fiddletown work. The 2021 Census showed 44.1 per cent of homes owned without a loan and just 13.2 per cent rented, so owners tend to invest in lasting fixes: switchboards sized for workshops, trenched cable to detached garages, sensor floodlights along long gravel driveways, and power for pool pumps and water tanks. As a Fiddletown electrician we also look after older weatherboard cottages whose wiring predates the newer extensions built beside them.
Distance shapes the job. Many properties back onto sandstone bush toward Marramarra, and the Census found 3.3 vehicles per dwelling, which says plenty about how far everyone drives. We carry extra cable, conduit and breakers so a single visit finishes the work. Pump failures, shed fires averted by a timely fault find, and urgent electrical repairs after wild weather are all part of our rounds across the Northern Suburbs.

Nearly every Fiddletown dwelling is a detached house on a large lot. We feed garages, stables and studios from properly rated sub-boards, with cable buried at the depth the wiring rules require.
Orchards and rural homes here rely on bores, dams and tanks. We wire pump controllers, add isolators at the pump shed and separate circuits so one fault leaves the house supply alone.
Blocks backing onto the Marramarra sandstone country cop falling limbs and heavy weather. After damage we test exposed cable, replace scorched fittings and restore outdoor lighting on the house side of the meter.
Two in three Fiddletown homes have four or more bedrooms. Large floor plans mean long lighting circuits, several split systems and bigger kitchens, which often outgrow the original board and its breakers.

Rural 2159 installs are familiar ground for our licensed team: long underground runs from house to shed, pump circuits, sub-boards in outbuildings and the voltage drop that comes with distance on a big Fiddletown lot.

A walk around your block comes before any figure. Trenching a new feed to a Nollands Road workshop is quoted separately from a kitchen circuit, and both arrive as one written amount.

Losing water pressure on acreage is serious, so a dead pump or tripping sub-board near the Marramarra fringe is moved up our schedule rather than left for next week.

Among our 250+ customers are households spread along Cobah and Peebles Roads, many introduced by neighbours who trusted us with sheds, bores and older farmhouse boards first.

Labour on every circuit we put into a Fiddletown home, stable or studio is guaranteed for life, including buried cable to outbuildings that you would rather never dig up again.

Let us know about gates, dogs, livestock and which driveway leads to the switchboard. Rural addresses can be hard to spot, so a landmark near your letterbox helps us reach you.

Our electrician studies the board, the pump and the route any new cable must follow across the paddock, then email a fixed written figure before trenching or drilling begins.

Fiddletown sits a fair drive from most suburbs, so we plan the route, load every part we expect to use and phone you if Arcadia Road traffic pushes our arrival back.

Trenches get backfilled, offcuts and packaging ride home in our van, and you receive the compliance paperwork with a note on which breaker controls each shed and pump.

Spyro opened the doors in 2017; today more than five licensed electricians share the long drive up Cobah Road most weeks. Out here the work is different from suburban jobs: fewer strata rules, more distance, and a lot of outbuildings. We have found that owners in Fiddletown value someone who shows up equipped, explains what their old board is doing, and leaves the pump, shed and house all running properly.

Fiddletown is still mostly rural, with 98.5 per cent of homes standing as separate houses on large lots and orchards scattered between them. Supplying power safely from the main house to sheds, bores and studios is the job we are asked about most in this corner of 2159.

Once the tools are packed on any Fiddletown property, we lodge the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work that NSW demands, covering the house, sheds and pumps alike. Rural homes often gain outbuildings over decades, sometimes wired by owners, so we flag any unsafe add-ons we uncover. Altering a switchboard means AS/NZS 3000 residual current protection on every final subcircuit, and we never fit the Type AC switches that new installations have excluded since 1 May 2023.
You will know the full figure before any trench opens. Prices vary widely in Fiddletown: adding a couple of downlights to a recent brick home near Cobah Road is quick, while running a new sub-main a hundred metres to a hillside machinery shed involves digging, heavier cable and a second board. We visit first, then commit the number to paper.
Shed without power, a pump that trips when the irrigation runs, or a farmhouse switchboard from another era? Ring 02 8999 3691. A licensed electrician will come out to your Fiddletown property, test the circuits in question and quote one written amount, backed by lifetime cover on our labour.
Fiddletown acreage owners, orchard families and people building sheds or granny flats on their blocks raise these points with us again and again. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Quite often. Vans roll from 7am until 5:30pm on weekdays, plus 7am until 2pm Saturdays, and we are regularly on the Galston and Arcadia side of the shire. Ring 02 8999 3691 early and describe the problem; a failed water pump, burning smell or power loss to the whole house gets priority over routine installs booked for later in the week.
We come out and look first. On acreage the distance between board and load, the ground conditions for trenching and the state of the existing wiring all change the effort involved. After the site visit you receive one written fixed amount covering materials and labour. It holds unless you decide to add more work along the way.
Yes, it is one of our most common Fiddletown jobs. We work out the load you need, size the cable so voltage stays within limits over the distance, trench and lay conduit at the required depth and fit a sub-board in the shed with its own RCD protection. You end up with lights, outlets and dedicated circuits for machinery, all documented on the compliance certificate.
Usual suspects are water getting into a pump shed junction box, a worn motor leaking current to earth, or a cable damaged by rodents or digging. The safety switch is doing its job, so repeated resetting only hides the fault. We test insulation along the circuit, locate the problem and repair or replace the section, then confirm the RCD trips correctly.
Many Fiddletown lots back onto sandstone bushland toward Marramarra National Park, so outdoor electrical gear takes a beating from heat, wind and falling timber. We check exposed cable and fittings on sheds, replace brittle outdoor outlets, make sure pumps can be isolated quickly and look at whether a generator inlet makes sense for your property.
We install a proper generator inlet and changeover switch at the board, which lets you run chosen circuits such as the fridge, lights and water pump from a portable unit without back-feeding the grid. Plugging a generator into a normal outlet is dangerous for you and for line workers, so a correct changeover arrangement is worth having on an isolated block.
A second dwelling usually needs a separate sub-board, a supply cable sized for its cooking, hot water and air conditioning, smoke alarms and plenty of outlets. We check whether your main board and incoming supply can carry the extra load and advise before plans are finalised. Getting that right early avoids costly changes once walls are lined.
Usually very practical. Garages and carports are common on these big lots, and with long drives to shops and work, home charging suits residents well. We measure headroom on the switchboard, lay a dedicated line out to the garage or carport, protect it correctly and mount the charger where the cable reaches without stretching across walkways.
Yes. Around Fiddletown that means classroom and grounds lighting, outdoor fittings on sports areas, cool room and packing shed circuits for orchard operators, and data cabling for home offices run from rural blocks. We schedule noisy or disruptive work around your operating hours and keep records for your maintenance file.
