Own an Art Deco house off The Boulevarde, a duplex near Punchbowl Road or an apartment beside Broadway Plaza? Our Punchbowl specials also cover South Terrace, Matthews Street and the Canterbury Road end. Flag the special while booking and it gets taken off your job.

Punchbowl remains mostly houses. The 2021 Census recorded 56.7 per cent separate homes, 18.4 per cent semis, duplexes or townhouses (well above the 11.7 per cent NSW figure) and 23.4 per cent flats. Much of the suburb grew in the late 1800s and early 1900s, especially once the railway arrived, and streets now mix Federation, Art Deco and new builds. Big households are common, with 26.5 per cent of homes having four or more bedrooms. We handle rewiring, renovation wiring and board upgrades throughout.

Trade is centred on the station along The Boulevarde and Punchbowl Road, with Broadway Plaza adding two levels of shops, including a supermarket and pharmacy, since 2013. Lebanese sweet shops and eateries draw visitors, and the old Astoria theatre is now offices. We wire shop fit-outs, cafe kitchens and office lighting, and service commercial premises around trading hours.

Punchbowl gets our same-day service on both sides of the railway. Urgent jobs here include a large family home losing power on one circuit, a duplex with shared wiring faults, a scorched power point behind an old fridge, and a sweet shop on The Boulevarde tripping before opening.
Punchbowl clients are mostly owners, as more than half of homes are owned outright or with a mortgage, and many households are large. So we spend much of our time adding circuits for extensions, rewiring older Federation and Art Deco homes, and separating supply between duplex halves. As your Punchbowl electrician we also look after strata blocks around Broadway Plaza and shops along The Boulevarde.
The suburb took its name from a circular valley in nearby Belfield, then grew quickly after its station opened in 1909. The 1981 Punchbowl Road bridge split the shopping centre, and newer apartments have since risen nearby. Whether it is a knockdown rebuild, a new kitchen or an urgent power fault, we cover Punchbowl and the rest of St George and Canterbury-Bankstown.

About 18 per cent of Punchbowl homes are semis, duplexes or townhouses. We wire new builds from slab to handover and separate supply cleanly so each home has its own board and meter.
Seven apartment blocks surround Broadway Plaza near the station. We repair common area lighting, sort unit board faults and give strata managers clear written reports on responsibility and cost.
Sweet shops, cafes and retailers along The Boulevarde and Punchbowl Road rely on ovens, fridges and bright displays. We add dedicated circuits, upgrade lighting and install emergency and exit signs.
Over a quarter of Punchbowl homes have four or more bedrooms. Air conditioning, extra appliances and home offices push old boards hard, so we upgrade them with more capacity and safety switches.

We have opened up plenty of Punchbowl Federation and Art Deco homes, so our licensed team understands how old wiring threads through their brick walls, timber floors and roof spaces.

A duplex near South Terrace and a four-bedroom house off Rossmore Avenue need very different effort, so each gets its own fixed written quote after inspection.

A dead circuit in a busy family home or a Boulevarde shop without power is moved ahead of routine work, with our electricians often nearby in Bankstown or Lakemba.

Many of our 250+ customers are Punchbowl owners and builders, who call us again for each renovation stage, duplex build or new shop fit-out.

Our labour is guaranteed for life on every Punchbowl job, from one extra power point to a complete rewire of an Art Deco house.

Give us the address and say whether it is a house, duplex or unit block, plus any gate codes or builder contacts, and we will book a time that suits you.

We check the board, the roof space and any extension plans, then send a fixed written price with the scope clearly listed before starting work.

Street parking around The Boulevarde and Punchbowl Road can be busy, so we plan van access and arrive within the agreed window, calling ahead if delayed.

Work areas are cleaned and old fittings removed, and you receive the compliance certificate and a clear summary of each circuit that was added or changed.

Our story began in 2017 when Spyro opened the doors, and the crew now includes five-plus licensed electricians. Punchbowl gives us a steady mix of renovation wiring, duplex separations, rewires in older homes and shop fit-outs near the station. We like being involved early with owners and builders, so wiring and board capacity are planned around the finished home rather than patched later.

Much of Punchbowl was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and many Federation and Art Deco houses remain. Their original wiring was never meant for modern kitchens, air conditioning and large households, so rewiring is a job we quote often in 2196.

Punchbowl jobs each finish with a CCEW lodged under state law. Inside Federation and Art Deco houses, and behind earlier renovations, perished insulation and absent earth wires turn up regularly; we either correct them or record them plainly. Any board swap or modification means residual current devices go onto each final subcircuit per AS/NZS 3000, and we steer clear of Type AC units, which fresh installations have excluded from 1 May 2023.
We quote after we see the job, and the fixed price is agreed in writing before work starts. In Punchbowl, adding lights to a new apartment near Broadway Plaza is straightforward, while the same work in an early 1900s house off The Boulevarde might mean lifting floorboards and working through brick walls. A proper look lets us give a fair figure that does not change.
Renovating an Art Deco house, building a duplex, or dealing with a tripping board in a busy family home? Phone 02 8999 3691 and book an inspection anywhere in Punchbowl. We commit to one written price up front, and every hour of our labour stays guaranteed for life.
Punchbowl owners, builders, strata committees and local traders raise these with us again and again. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Most days, yes. Our electricians are out from 7am until 5:30pm on weekdays and 7am until 2pm on Saturdays, often already in Bankstown, Lakemba or Roselands. An early call to 02 8999 3691 usually secures a same-day visit. Tell us first if there is a hot smell, sparking or a main switch that drops back out, since those jump the queue.
It depends on the property. Adding a power point in a new apartment is simple, while running circuits through an older Federation house with brick walls and timber floors takes longer. We inspect first, then provide a fixed written price covering the full scope, which only changes if you request extra work.
Yes. With 18.4 per cent of Punchbowl homes being semis, duplexes or townhouses, we regularly work with builders on dual occupancy projects. We handle rough-in, fit-off, individual switchboards and metering for each dwelling, smoke alarms, lighting and power. We coordinate with your builder so inspections and handover run to schedule.
It may not be. Older homes in Punchbowl can still have rubber or cloth insulated cable, ceramic fuses and poor earthing. Insulation breaks down with age and heat, increasing the risk of shocks and fire. We test the wiring, explain which circuits are safe, and quote a full or staged rewire that protects the original features of your home.
The owners corporation usually looks after the main board, meter panels, car park and hallway lighting, while wiring inside each apartment belongs to the lot owner. We find where the fault is, fix what we are authorised to fix, and send a written report to both the owner and the strata manager.
Often, yes. New kitchens, air conditioning, extra bathrooms and extensions all add load, and an old board may not have room or RCD protection. Under AS/NZS 3000, altering a board means adding RCDs to the final subcircuits. We check your board and plans early so any upgrade is included in your renovation budget.
Usually. Where a Punchbowl house has a driveway or garage, charging at home is fairly simple. We check your board capacity, run a dedicated circuit to the parking area and install a wall-mounted charger. For duplexes and apartments, we confirm which supply and board the charger should connect to before starting.
Yes. We work with sweet shops, eateries and retailers along The Boulevarde and Punchbowl Road. Jobs include fit-outs, dedicated circuits for ovens and fridges, LED downlights, signage, and emergency and exit lighting. Noisy or disruptive stages can be booked before the doors open so customers are not affected.
Yes. With over a quarter of Punchbowl homes having four or more bedrooms, many families want split systems in several rooms or ducted air. Each unit needs a suitable circuit and isolator. We check your board capacity, run dedicated circuits and work with your installer, and can add ceiling fans to rooms where a split system is not practical.
We cover all of Punchbowl 2196, including The Boulevarde, Punchbowl Road, Canterbury Road, South Terrace, Matthews Street, Kelly Street, Highclere Avenue, Rossmore Avenue and the Broadway Plaza precinct. We also work in Roselands, Greenacre, Lakemba, Bankstown, Belmore, Belfield and Peakhurst.
