Lalor Park began as a New South Wales Housing Commission project in 1959, once called Seven Hills West, and its streets carry names like Blaxland, Lawson, Oxley and Melba. Census 2021 counted 90.7 per cent separate houses, most with three bedrooms, and 42.4 per cent of homes rented. Many of those original dwellings still run early circuits and tired meter panels. We handle switchboard replacement, extra power points for kitchens and bedrooms, and rewiring when owners finally renovate a Commission-built cottage.

Commercial life here centres on the outdoor precinct where Northcott Road meets Freeman Street, a few dozen small traders under the new murals. We look after lighting, tenancy boards, signage circuits and shop electrical work for those operators, plus council-run buildings nearby when called.

Lalor Park households get same-day service from our crew whenever a fault leaves them stuck. Typical urgent jobs on these late-1950s homes include a scorched fuse holder, a hot water system circuit that has died, power lost to half the house, or a rental where the tenant smells burning at a socket.
Landlords and their agents make up a large share of our Lalor Park work, which makes sense when four in ten dwellings are leased. They want alarms dated correctly, boards with RCDs and fewer repeat callouts. Longtime owners along Hathaway Road, Burke Road and Freeman Street tend to ask for bigger upgrades: a new board, more circuits for air conditioning, or brighter LED lighting before the house goes on the market. As the Lalor Park electrician many families already use, we also wire granny flats and outdoor areas behind these wide suburban blocks.
The suburb sits between Seven Hills station and the T-way stops toward Parklea, so our vans pass through daily on routes across Western Sydney. That puts a licensed tradesperson close by for an urgent electrical repair, a flickering circuit or a quick safety check before settlement.

Much of Lalor Park was built by the Housing Commission from 1959. We replace aged original cable, add proper earthing and run fresh circuits through roof spaces without tearing up ceilings unnecessarily.
Census 2021 put 42.4 per cent of Lalor Park homes in the rental column. We service agents with hard-wired smoke alarm replacement, RCD testing and written records dated for the property file.
Porcelain fuses and crowded meter panels still turn up across these streets. A new board brings residual current protection to each final subcircuit and leaves labelled breakers the household can actually read.
The shopping precinct where Northcott Road joins Freeman Street holds a few dozen small businesses. We fix tenancy lighting, add circuits for refrigeration and coffee gear, and time noisy work around trade.

Our licensed team knows how Housing Commission homes from the late 1950s were first wired, and where later owners added cable in the roof space without much care.

One visit, one written figure. A modest Kreckler Crescent cottage and a renovated Burke Road house get priced separately after we have actually seen each board and ceiling.

Power gone off in a Hathaway Road rental with children at home is treated as urgent, and we shuffle routine bookings so a tradesperson reaches Lalor Park quickly.

Plenty of our 250+ customers are Lalor Park landlords, owner-occupiers and small shopkeepers, and a lot of new bookings come from neighbours near Cavanagh Reserve or the library.

Labour on every circuit we install in a Lalor Park home, from a new power point to a full board swap, is guaranteed for as long as you own the place.

Ring or message with your street and whether a tenant needs to be told first. We then offer a morning or afternoon window around school drop-off at St Bernadette’s or Lalor Park Public.

After checking the meter panel, earthing and roof space, we explain what the older wiring needs and email a fixed amount in writing before any tool comes out.

Driveways here usually have room for the van, so we pull up within the agreed slot. If traffic around Seven Hills station slows us, you get a call with a revised time.

Ceiling access holes are closed, offcuts and old fittings leave with us, and you receive the compliance paperwork plus a short list of anything else worth fixing later.

Spyro started the business in 2017 and has grown it to five-plus licensed electricians, with Lalor Park becoming one of the Blacktown suburbs we visit most weeks. The mix here keeps us busy: rentals needing compliance, original Commission cottages overdue for new boards, and shops along Northcott Road that cannot afford a dark morning. The same electrician who inspects your Lalor Park property is the one who comes back to do the work.

Lalor Park’s housing was largely laid down by the Housing Commission from 1959, so a big share of boards here predate modern residual current protection. With 42.4 per cent of homes rented, owners and agents regularly ask us to bring those boards up to scratch.

Each job we complete in Lalor Park comes with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, lodged as NSW law requires. On a house wired more than sixty years ago that matters, because the certificate covers what we touched and we note in writing any old circuits still worth replacing. Once a switchboard is changed or altered, AS/NZS 3000 calls for RCD protection on all final subcircuits, and Type AC devices have been off the table for new work since 1 May 2023.
You get a written fixed figure after we inspect, never a guess over the phone. The same job can differ a lot here: adding a circuit to a renovated brick home off Moffatt Drive with a modern board is quick, while doing it in an untouched Commission cottage means first replacing a fuse panel and checking earthing. Seeing the property first lets us commit to one honest number.
Selling a Hathaway Road house, handing a rental to new tenants, or tired of a fuse that blows every time the heater runs? Ring 02 8999 3691 and a licensed electrician will inspect your Lalor Park property, then give you a fixed written quote backed by lifetime labour cover.
Lalor Park landlords, homeowners and Northcott Road shopkeepers bring us these questions most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Most days, yes. We work from 7am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and from 7am to 2pm on Saturdays, and Lalor Park sits between Seven Hills and Blacktown, two suburbs our vans cross constantly. Phone 02 8999 3691 in the morning and we can usually fit you in before knock-off. A burning smell, sparking or a board that keeps tripping is handled ahead of routine bookings.
We don’t quote blind, because two Lalor Park houses that look alike from the street can hide very different wiring. One may have had a new board ten years ago; the next may still have its original Commission fuses. After looking at the job we put a fixed amount in writing, and that is the figure you pay unless you ask for something extra.
Not always, but it needs testing. Homes here date from the late 1950s onward, and by now the original cable insulation can be brittle, earthing may be thin, and circuits were never designed for air conditioners or induction cooktops. We run insulation and earth tests, tell you which circuits are sound, and quote a partial or full rewire only where the results justify it.
There must be a working alarm on every level, a tenant-reported fault must be fixed within two business days, and any alarm past ten years from its manufacture date must be replaced. Hard-wired units have to be fitted by a licensed electrician. With over four in ten Lalor Park homes rented, we do these runs every week and can also book routine smoke alarm testing between leases.
Yes. Lalor Park blocks were laid out for single houses with decent backyards, which suits a secondary dwelling. We check whether the existing supply and board can carry the extra load, run a submain to the new building, fit its own board with RCDs, and wire lighting, power and a cooktop circuit. We coordinate with your builder so the cable goes in before the linings.
Usually. Most houses here have a driveway or carport, and the Census shows 1.6 vehicles per dwelling. The limit is often the board rather than the parking. We check spare capacity, upgrade the board if it still has fuses, and run a dedicated circuit with its own protection to a wall charger near where you park.
In Lalor Park it is usually a sign that the house is asking more of old circuits than they were built for. A split system on a shared power circuit, a loose neutral at the board, or an ageing main connection can all cause a dip. We test under load, tighten or replace failing connections inside your property, and give the air conditioner its own protected circuit.
We do. The precinct at Northcott Road and Freeman Street has a few dozen small operators, and many tenancies were fitted out decades ago. We repair lighting, add power for refrigeration and cooking equipment, fit exit signs where required and install data points for card terminals and office computers, booking disruptive work before opening or on quieter days.
Every member of the team is licensed and insured. Spyro founded the business in 2017, and we now field five-plus electricians who have completed more than 7,000 projects. Labour on anything we install in your Lalor Park home is guaranteed for life, and each job is backed by a compliance certificate lodged under NSW rules.
