Electrical Services We Offer

Residential Electrical Services

Residential Electrician

Hurstville has turned vertical. At the 2021 Census, 61.4 per cent of its 10,500-odd occupied homes were flats, almost triple the NSW figure of 21.7, while separate houses dropped to 30.0 per cent. Two-bedroom apartments alone made up 42.8 per cent. Older brick cottages still line the streets beyond the towers, and late Victorian homes such as Gladwyn on Queens Road date from 1893. We handle apartment switchboard upgrades, extra kitchen circuits, and rewiring in older cottages where the original cable has aged badly.

Commercial Electrical Services

Commercial Electrician

This is the commercial heart of the St George area, with Westfield Hurstville, Hurstville Central, East Quarter, Union Arcade and a long run of banks and eateries along Forest Road. Restaurants, grocers, clinics and offices call us for commercial electrical maintenance, new tenancy circuits, exit lights and lighting changes planned around trading hours.

Emergency Electrical Services

Emergency Electrician

Our same-day service covers every block from Hurstville station out to Kempt Field and Hurstville Park. Typical urgent calls here: a unit that has lost half its power points, a restaurant exhaust fan circuit that keeps tripping mid-service, a scorched socket behind a rental fridge, or a strata car park light bank gone dark.

Licensed and Trusted Electricians Serving Hurstville

Close to half of Hurstville households rent (47.4 per cent in 2021), so much of our week here is spent with property managers, investors and the tenants living in towers along Park Road, MacMahon Street and Ormonde Parade. Landlords want alarms and RCDs checked between leases, owners’ corporations want lobby and basement lighting kept alive, and families in the brick homes toward Hurstville Grove ask for air conditioning circuits and board upgrades. As your Hurstville electrician, we also help the grocers, noodle houses and dental surgeries clustered around Forest Road.

The town centre keeps growing: the population rose from 20,371 in 2001 to 31,162 at the last Census, and each new building adds more units that need maintenance. Whether it is a fit-out in a Queens Road shopfront or an urgent fault call from a flat near the railway, we work here constantly, as part of our coverage across St George and Canterbury-Bankstown.

What Hurstville Homes and Buildings Need From an Electrician

Flats made up 61.4 per cent of Hurstville homes in 2021. We work on unit boards, add circuits for induction cooktops and split systems, and confirm with building managers which faults belong to common property.

Hurstville is a dining destination for the St George area. We wire kitchen equipment, cool rooms and signage in shopfronts from Forest Road to Ormonde Parade, working around trading hours.

With 47.4 per cent of dwellings leased, agents book us between tenancies to replace expired smoke alarms, test safety switches and supply dated paperwork for the landlord.

Separate houses still account for 30.0 per cent of dwellings. Many are older homes on side streets away from the towers, where aging wiring, few power points and tired fuse boards are common.

Licensed and Experienced Electrical Experts

Our licensed crew knows Hurstville towers from the meter room up, and also the brick cottages near Woodville Park, so we match the approach to the building in front of us.

Fair Pricing

Clear, Upfront Pricing

After looking at the job we write down one set figure. A two-bedroom flat off Park Road and a cottage near Thorpe Park get separate quotes, since cable routes differ.

Emergency Support

A dead kitchen in a Forest Road restaurant or a unit with no lights near the station is moved up our list the moment you ring, with same-day help where possible.

ABOUT OLYMPIC ELECTRICAL

A Family-Run Electrical Team, Serving Sydney Since 2017

From a one-man outfit Spyro launched in 2017, we now field five-plus licensed electricians, and Hurstville turns up on our job sheets nearly every week. It is a suburb of contrasts: high-rise units beside Westfield, heritage buildings along MacMahon Street, and quiet brick homes toward the Grove. We handle each with care, keep strata committees informed, and move quickly for shops that lose power during trade. One electrician usually stays with your job from the first visit to sign-off.

Strata and Apartment Electrical Work in Hurstville

Hurstville’s population grew by more than 10,000 between 2001 and 2021, and 61.4 per cent of its homes are now flats. That puts apartment and common-area electrical work well ahead of any other job type we do here.

Common property faults: lobby lighting, basement car park fittings, intercoms and fire stair lights are usually strata responsibility. We fault-find, repair and send a written report to the managing agent.

Unit board upgrades: older blocks may still have rewireable fuses or only one RCD. Replacing the board brings in safety switch protection on every final subcircuit, using Type A or better.

Cooling and cooktops: many two-bedroom units were never wired for modern split systems or induction. We check spare capacity at the board before adding dedicated circuits.

Lighting refreshes: swapping old halogen fittings for LED downlights cuts heat in upper-floor units and can be done in a day with minimal disruption to neighbours.

Safety and Compliance

Each Hurstville job ends with us lodging a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, whether it is a single power point in a Park Road flat or a new tenancy board in a shopping arcade. Touch a switchboard and AS/NZS 3000 says its final subcircuits need RCDs; since 1 May 2023, fresh installs may not use Type AC units. In older cottages we also note any original wiring we find worth replacing.

Transparent Pricing

We never guess a figure over the phone. Adding a circuit in a newer MacMahon Street apartment may involve little more than a short cable run inside a riser, while the same job in an older cottage near Hurstville Park can mean working through a cramped roof space and a crowded fuse board. So we inspect first, then give you one written, fixed quote.

Fuse board on its last legs in a cottage near Thorpe Park, an agent’s smoke alarm deadline for a Forest Road unit, or a shop fit-out due before opening day?
