Families on Queens Road, Regatta Road, Walker Street and Renown Street, and households up on Bayview Road near Lucas Gardens School, can claim our seasonal Canada Bay specials. Say you saw this line when you phone and the discount comes off your written price.

This is a small, settled pocket of family homes on the southern shore of the bay. The 2021 Census counted about 510 dwellings, with 59.9 per cent separate houses, 16.7 per cent semis or townhouses and 24.7 per cent apartments, many of them along Regatta Road. Large homes are common: 26.1 per cent have four or more bedrooms. We carry out switchboard replacements for houses now running ducted air, pools and induction cooking, plus renovation wiring when owners extend rather than move.

Canada Bay is almost entirely residential, and Lucas Gardens School on the corner of Queens Road and Walker Street is its main non-residential site. Our business work here is mostly strata common areas in the Regatta Road blocks, and we look after shops and offices in neighbouring Five Dock and Concord.

Every Canada Bay street is within reach of our same-day service, from Louden Street through to the waterfront end of Bayview Road. Common urgent calls: a garden light circuit near the water tripping the house, a townhouse board that will not reset after a storm, and a family home losing half its power mid-renovation.
Owners rather than landlords make up most of our Canada Bay work. At the 2021 Census, 34.5 per cent of dwellings were owned outright and 32.8 per cent carried a mortgage, and 77.7 per cent of households were families. Many of those families have lived here for decades, so their houses hold several generations of electrical work, from original circuits to additions nobody documented. Being their Canada Bay electrician means tracing that history before we change anything.
The suburb also has strong Italian roots, with 11.2 per cent of residents speaking Italian at home, and big kitchens with serious appliances are a regular request. We add dedicated circuits, fit LED downlights through extensions and handle urgent electrical faults for households along the foreshore. Canada Bay sits between Five Dock and Concord, so it falls inside routes we drive daily across the Inner West.

Separate houses make up 59.9 per cent of Canada Bay dwellings, and many have grown room by room. We map old and new circuits, remove unsafe joins and bring sub-boards up to current standards.
Units and townhouses fill parts of Regatta Road. We work to strata rules, separate lot faults from common property problems and upgrade individual boards without cutting power to the whole block.
Homes near the southern shore of the bay put lighting, pumps and outlets outdoors. We choose weatherproof fittings, protect each outdoor circuit with an RCD and replace corroded connections before they fail.
With 11.2 per cent of residents speaking Italian at home, generous family kitchens are common here. We add dedicated lines for ovens, induction cooktops and second fridges so nothing overloads at dinner time.

Our qualified tradespeople know Canada Bay houses that have been extended two or three times, where an old sub-board in the garage may feed half the rear of the home.

A Renown Street family home and a Regatta Road apartment never get the same guesswork figure. We inspect, then send a written fixed price for that exact property.

If a Canada Bay home near the water loses a circuit during a storm, we slot the call in the same day where possible and make the fault safe before anything else.

Long-term Canada Bay owners, townhouse residents off Regatta Road and families who found us through Lucas Gardens School neighbours are among the 250+ customers who review us.

The wiring we run in a Canada Bay extension, kitchen or garage is backed by a lifetime guarantee on our workmanship, not a warranty that runs out after a year.

Ring or message with your street and a rough idea of the problem. Canada Bay houses usually have driveways, so we just confirm gate codes, dogs and a time that suits school pick-ups.

The electrician walks through the house, checks every sub-board and extension, then puts one firm number in writing so you can compare it before saying yes.

Canada Bay is a short hop from Five Dock, so we give a tight arrival window and keep to it. If a job runs over elsewhere, we call you first.

Ceiling dust from extensions gets vacuumed, every offcut goes in the van, and we leave your compliance paperwork with a simple circuit list taped inside the board door.

Starting in 2017, Spyro built the business with a simple rule: explain the job properly, then do it once. The team is now five-plus licensed electricians, and quiet streets like those in Canada Bay suit that approach. Owners here tend to stay, so we are often asked back years later for the next stage, whether that is a pool pump circuit, a garage workshop or a full board change after a kitchen goes in. We keep the same electrician on your house wherever we can.

Canada Bay averaged 1.8 registered vehicles per dwelling at the 2021 Census, and 58.4 per cent of homes had two or more cars. With most families parking on their own driveways or in garages, installing a home EV charger is a practical upgrade we recommend here more than in denser suburbs.

Every Canada Bay visit is signed off with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, lodged as NSW law demands. In houses extended over several decades that certificate matters, because it documents which parts we touched and tested. Alter or replace a board and AS/NZS 3000 calls for RCD protection across the final subcircuits. Type AC units have been banned from new installations since 1 May 2023, so the devices we fit are Type A or higher.
Nothing starts until you hold a fixed figure in writing. Canada Bay properties vary more than people expect: a second-floor apartment on Regatta Road might need two lights swapped in an hour, while a four-bedroom house on Queens Road with a rear extension could need a new board, a sub-main to the garage and an EV circuit. We price what we see, not what we guess.
Adding an EV charger on your Walker Street driveway, a pool circuit on Renown Street, or new lighting in a Regatta Road townhouse? Call 02 8999 3691 to book a visit in Canada Bay. You will get one written price after the inspection and a lifetime guarantee on the labour.
Canada Bay home owners, townhouse residents and families planning extensions raise these with us again and again. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Frequently, yes. Vans leave at 7am and work through to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, then 7am to 2pm on Saturday; Sunday we rest. Canada Bay sits beside Five Dock and Concord, where we work constantly, so fitting in an extra stop is usually easy. Call early, and flag any sparking, scorching or total loss of power so we treat it as urgent.
We only commit to a number after seeing the property. An electrician checks the main board, any sub-boards in garages or extensions and the route new cable will take, then writes one fixed price. Two Canada Bay jobs described the same way on the phone can differ widely once we find how many times a house has been extended, so an honest figure needs a visit.
It might be, but it is worth checking. Houses make up 59.9 per cent of Canada Bay dwellings, and many were added to over the years by different builders and electricians. We look for undersized cable feeding new rooms, joins buried in ceilings, sub-boards without RCDs and circuits that no longer match the labels. You receive a written list of what is fine and what needs attention.
Yes, we install wall chargers regularly. Most Canada Bay homes have a driveway or garage, and 58.4 per cent had two or more vehicles in 2021, so charging at home is straightforward for many families. We check supply capacity, run a dedicated circuit and fit protection of Type A or better. If your board is full or outdated, we explain that upfront.
We do. Homes close to the southern shore of Canada Bay often have pool equipment, garden lighting and outdoor outlets, all exposed to moisture. We use weatherproof enclosures, bury or protect cable to the correct depth, and make sure every outdoor circuit has RCD protection. Where old connections have corroded, we replace them before they cause nuisance tripping.
Usually the split follows the strata plan. Wiring beyond your own meter and board, inside your lot, is generally your responsibility, while shared lighting, the main switchroom and supply to common areas belong to the owners corporation. We check the by-laws with you, confirm which side the fault is on and report to the strata manager if the problem sits on common property.
Plan circuits before the cabinets arrive. Kitchens in Canada Bay family homes often carry a large oven, an induction cooktop, a rangehood, a dishwasher and a second fridge, which can overload one old circuit. We map dedicated lines, set outlet heights for benches and islands, fit the lighting and certify everything once the joinery is in.
Touching the board triggers a rule in AS/NZS 3000: once it is altered or swapped, the final subcircuits all need residual current protection. Older Canada Bay boards often protect only power points, leaving lighting, the oven or the pool on no protection at all. From 1 May 2023, Type AC devices cannot be used in new work either, so we install modern safety switches of Type A or better.
Yes. Many Canada Bay houses have a garage that doubles as a workshop, gym or storage area, often fed by a single old outlet. We can run a sub-main from the house board, install a small sub-board with its own RCDs, and add bright LED lighting, extra double power points and a dedicated circuit for heavier tools.
We cover all of Canada Bay in postcode 2046, including Queens Road, Regatta Road, Walker Street, Renown Street, Bayview Road and Louden Street, around Lucas Gardens School and along the foreshore. We also work across Five Dock, Concord, Wareemba, Cabarita, Abbotsford, Croydon and Burwood every week, so neighbouring suburbs are well covered too.
