Wareemba covers only about 0.3 square kilometres, yet it holds a real mix. The 2021 Census counted 55.4 per cent separate houses, 31.8 per cent flats and 9.3 per cent semis or townhouses, while outright ownership reaches 40.5 per cent, well above the 31.5 per cent NSW figure. Long-held family houses on Kirrang, Cecil and Irene Streets often still run original circuits, so we do rewiring, extra kitchen power and board replacements.

Business here is a short run of shops on Great North Road: coffee spots, a combined fruit shop and cafe, and an IGA supermarket. For these tenancies we handle refrigeration circuits, espresso machine supply, shop lighting and commercial maintenance, timed so the doors stay open.

Wareemba homes face Hen and Chicken Bay, and salty air plus older wiring can fail without warning. Our same-day service covers faults like a Wymston Parade house losing half its power, a unit block’s stair lights out, or a Great North Road cafe tripping its main switch.
Wareemba was carved out of Abbotsford as a separate suburb in 1993, and many of the people who call us have lived here for decades. With a median age of 43 and four in ten homes owned outright, we meet a lot of long-term owners who want an ageing house made safer, plus buyers renovating a place they have just bought. As your Wareemba electrician we rewire, replace boards, add outdoor lighting and fit ceiling fans for bay-facing bedrooms.
The flats along Edenholme Road and Great North Road bring strata jobs such as common-area lighting and meter panel repairs, while the shops need quick turnarounds. Because the suburb is tiny, our vans are rarely far away, and an urgent electrical repair here is handled alongside our regular runs across the Inner West, from Five Dock to Russell Lea.

Separate houses make up 55.4 per cent of Wareemba, and many have been owned for decades. We find old fuse boards and patched circuits, then modernise them in stages to suit owners' budgets.
Flats account for 31.8 per cent of dwellings here. We repair hallway lighting, replace tired meter panels and work out whether a fault belongs to the lot owner or the owners corporation.
Streets like Wymston Parade face Hen and Chicken Bay directly. Salty, humid air eats outdoor fittings, garage outlets and meter box hinges, so we replace them with sealed, marine-grade rated gear.
The strip holds cafes, a fruit shop combined with coffee, and an IGA. We add supply for fridges and espresso machines, upgrade display lighting and schedule work before opening time.

Wareemba’s post-war houses, low-rise unit blocks and Great North Road shops are familiar ground for our licensed team, and we know where each type usually hides its weak points.

Nothing is priced sight unseen. A Kirrang Street house and a flat on Edenholme Road each get their own written fixed figure once we have seen the board and access.

A tripping board in a Wymston Parade home or a dead cool room at a Great North Road cafe gets prioritised, so you are not left waiting for days.

Many of our 250+ customers live between the Parramatta River and Lyons Road, and Wareemba neighbours often pass our number over the fence after a job.

Whatever we wire in a Wareemba home, unit or shop comes with lifetime cover on the labour, so a new kitchen feed or board upgrade stays protected for years to come.

Let us know which street you are on and if there is a driveway or visitor parking. Wareemba is compact, so we can often offer a slot within the same week, or sooner if urgent.

After testing the circuits and checking the board, we talk you through what we found and email one written fixed figure, which you approve before anything starts.

Wymston Parade and the side streets fill up on weekends near the boat ramp, so we plan where the van goes and arrive in the window we confirmed with you.

Drop sheets protect polished floors, offcuts leave in our van, and you receive your compliance paperwork plus a short list of the circuits we changed in your Wareemba home.

Since Spyro founded the company in 2017, our team has grown to five-plus licensed electricians, and Wareemba is part of our regular Canada Bay loop. The work here is personal: owners who have lived on the same street for decades, families modernising a house they have just bought, and cafe owners who cannot lose a morning of trade. Whether it is a new smoke alarm or a full board swap on Coranto Street, one crew stays with the job from start to end.

Wareemba has an older age profile, with a median age of 43, and 40.5 per cent of homes owned outright, so many alarms were fitted long ago and never replaced. Add 161 rented dwellings in the 2021 Census and alarm replacement becomes one of the most useful jobs we do here.

After each Wareemba job we issue a CCEW, the NSW certificate showing the finished work was tested and complies. That is important in houses that have been held for generations, where earlier additions may have been done by someone unlicensed. Change a board here and the wiring rules oblige us to put RCDs over every final subcircuit, and we use Type A units or better because Type AC has been barred from fresh installations since 1 May 2023.
For every Wareemba job we visit first, then provide a written fixed figure. The contrast between properties shows why: adding a power circuit in a single-storey house off Kirrang Street with a roomy roof space is quick, while the same task in a first-floor unit on Edenholme Road may involve strata approval and concrete slabs. Seeing it lets us price accurately.
Ageing fuse board in a Cecil Street house, expired alarms in a rental unit, or a Great North Road cafe needing extra supply? Ring 02 8999 3691. A licensed electrician assesses it on site in Wareemba and puts one fixed figure in writing, and the labour carries a lifetime guarantee.
Wareemba homeowners, unit owners, landlords and Great North Road shopkeepers most often want to know the following. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often it is. Weekday shifts run from 7am through to 5:30pm, Saturday from 7am until 2pm, and the Canada Bay peninsula is on our route most days. A call to 02 8999 3691 before mid-morning leaves the most room to reach you that afternoon. If you notice scorching, a hot switch or a breaker that trips repeatedly, say so and we move you up the list.
We only name a price once we have looked. A new light circuit in a single-storey house with good roof access is fast, while running the same circuit in a unit with a concrete ceiling takes much longer and may need strata sign-off. After the inspection you receive a written fixed price that stays the same unless you ask for additional work.
Not necessarily. Many Wareemba homes have been owned by the same people for a long time, and original wiring may have been extended piece by piece. We often find old fuse boards, perished insulation, missing earths and no safety switches. We test every circuit, explain which parts are fine and which need attention, and quote a staged plan if you prefer to spread the work.
That comes down to location. Cabling that runs out of your own lot’s board to your rooms is generally the owner’s to fix, whereas the building’s main board, the meter panels and lights in shared hallways usually fall to the owners corporation. With 31.8 per cent of Wareemba homes being flats, we trace faults and give both the owner and strata manager a written report.
Yes, for outdoor gear. Salty, humid air from the bay corrodes exposed fittings, garden lights, garage outlets and meter boxes faster than inland. On streets such as Wymston Parade we recommend sealed, weather-rated fittings, stainless fixings and regular checks of outdoor power points, especially before summer when people spend more time outside.
Usually. Households here average 1.7 vehicles, and most houses have a driveway or garage suited to a wall charger. We work out how much headroom the existing board has, lay a separate feed out to where the car is kept, and position the unit away from rain. In unit blocks we work with the strata committee on basement or car space access first.
Yes. Buyers renovating older Wareemba homes often open up kitchens and bathrooms, and that is the best time to update the circuits behind the walls. We coordinate with your builder, run new cable before plastering and fit lights, fans and outlets once finishes are done. See our renovation electrical service for how we plan staged work.
We do. The Wareemba strip includes cafes, a combined fruit shop and coffee bar, and an IGA supermarket. We add supply for refrigeration and coffee machines, repair shop lighting, fit exit signs and emergency lights, and book disruptive tasks before opening so trade is not interrupted.
Each storey of a NSW rental must have an alarm that works. A landlord has two business days to act on a tenant’s fault report, and any alarm older than ten years from manufacture must go. Only a licensed electrician may install hard-wired units. Around 27.9 per cent of Wareemba homes are rented, and we can also carry out smoke alarm testing between tenancies with dated records for your agent.
Every street in Wareemba 2046, including Great North Road, Wymston Parade, Edenholme Road, Coranto, Wareemba, Kirrang, Cecil, Reginald and Irene Streets, Gartfern Avenue, Hampden Road and the Hen and Chicken Bay boat ramp area. We also work regularly in Abbotsford, Russell Lea, Five Dock, Chiswick, Rodd Point, Canada Bay, Drummoyne and Cabarita.
