Cammeray grew in waves: Bell’s Estate after the Miller Street tramway in 1909, then the Morning Glow, Cammeray and Green’s estates between 1921 and 1935. Today the 2021 Census shows 59.6 per cent flats, 24.9 per cent separate houses and 15.2 per cent semis or townhouses. Interwar houses on steep blocks often carry dated circuits, so we handle house rewiring, board changes and added power for kitchens, studies and decks.

Miller Street is Cammeray’s commercial spine, with restaurants, cafes, a petrol station and small businesses, plus the Cammeray Square complex. A second cluster sits beside Green Park on Cammeray Road. We deliver commercial electrical repairs, kitchen circuits and shop lighting, working around trading hours.

Steep, leafy streets above Middle Harbour mean branches, wind and water all test Cammeray wiring. Our same-day service covers faults such as a unit block losing its stairwell lights, a house near Tunks Park tripping during storms, or a Miller Street cafe’s power dropping mid-morning.
Cammeray clients range from apartment owners and renters, with 41.3 per cent of homes leased, to families in the interwar houses north of the Warringah Expressway. Owners in the older estates want tired wiring replaced without ruining original ceilings, strata committees need common-area lighting and meter panels maintained, and landlords want alarms kept current. As your Cammeray electrician we also add LED downlights, outdoor lighting and new circuits for home offices.
The expressway split the suburb in the 1960s, so we plan routes around the West, Miller, Ernest and Falcon Street crossings. Streets dropping toward Tunks Park, Primrose Park and Folly Point bring damp and storm-related faults, while Miller Street shops need quick fixes. For sudden faults, our urgent electrical service covers Cammeray and suburbs across the North Shore.

Cammeray's Morning Glow, Cammeray and Green's estates opened between 1921 and 1935. We rewire these houses carefully, protecting plaster ceilings, timber joinery and original features while adding modern circuits.
Flats make up 59.6 per cent of Cammeray dwellings. We upgrade unit boards, repair common-area lighting and clarify for strata managers which faults sit with owners and which with the building.
Streets falling toward Tunks Park, Primrose Park and Middle Harbour catch wind and water. We fit sealed outdoor fittings, check garden lighting circuits and trace faults after storms bring down branches.
Miller Street holds restaurants, cafes and small businesses, plus Cammeray Square. We install kitchen circuits, fix shop lighting and signage, and schedule work outside busy trading periods.

Cammeray’s interwar estate houses, expressway-side units and Miller Street shops are familiar territory for our licensed team, including how steep sites affect cable routes and meter positions.

We inspect before pricing, then write one fixed figure. A unit near Cammeray Square and a split-level house above Tunks Park need very different amounts of work.

A family without power on a hillside street or a Miller Street cafe with a dead fridge circuit is moved up our list for the day.

Our 250+ customers include Cammeray owners, strata committees and small businesses, many referred by neighbours who met us on a job near Green Park or Anzac Park.

All the labour on circuits we install in Cammeray homes, units and shops is guaranteed for life, including cable run through tricky split-level roof spaces.

Share your street and any access quirks, such as steep driveways, stairs or basement parking. We then offer a Cammeray slot that suits you or your tenants.

We test circuits, open the board and check roof or underfloor access, explain the findings plainly, and send a written fixed figure before we start.

Expressway crossings can bottleneck at peak times, so we plan our route through Miller or Falcon Street and call ahead if the arrival window changes.

We protect floors on stair-heavy homes, take every offcut away, and leave your compliance certificate plus a note on what changed in your Cammeray property.

With 59.6 per cent of Cammeray dwellings being flats and many houses dating from estates opened between 1909 and 1942, plenty of boards here still lack full RCD protection. Adding or upgrading safety switches is one of the most valuable jobs we do in 2062.

Once a Cammeray job is done, we lodge the CCEW, the official proof that the work was tested and complies. In interwar homes where wiring has been extended over decades, any original circuits we touch are repaired or noted in writing. A new or modified board means RCDs across the final subcircuits, as AS/NZS 3000 demands, and we pass over Type AC devices, which lost their place in fresh installs on 1 May 2023.
Cammeray quotes are fixed and written, and only after we inspect. Access varies widely here: a light circuit in a single-level unit near Cammeray Square is simple, while the same work in a split-level house on a steep block above Tunks Park may involve tight roof voids and long cable runs. Looking first keeps the number honest.
Original wiring in a Palmer Street house, a tripping unit near Cammeray Square, or a Miller Street shop short of capacity? Phone 02 8999 3691. We come out, study the job in person, and write down a single fixed figure, backed by lifetime cover on our labour.
The following come up most with Cammeray home owners, unit owners, landlords and Miller Street business operators. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
In many cases, yes. Vans leave at 7am and work through to 5:30pm on weekdays, plus 7am until 2pm on Saturday, and Cammeray sits on roads we cross daily. A morning call to 02 8999 3691 leaves the most room in that day’s schedule. Burning smells, warm switches or a main switch that trips again straight away go to the front of the queue.
We set the price after seeing the job. A new circuit in a unit with easy access is fairly quick, while the same work in a split-level house on a steep block can mean tight roof spaces and longer runs. After inspecting, we give a written fixed price, which stays the same unless you ask for extra work.
It can be. Many Cammeray houses were built on estates opened between 1909 and 1942, and their wiring has often been extended in pieces. We regularly find old fuse boards, brittle insulation, missing earths and no safety switches. We test every circuit, tell you which parts are sound, and quote a rewire or switchboard upgrade to suit the house.
It depends on the location of the fault. The unit’s own board and circuits usually belong to the lot owner, while main boards, meter panels, lifts and common lighting are generally the owners corporation’s responsibility. With 59.6 per cent of Cammeray homes being flats, we often trace faults and give owners and strata managers a written finding.
Yes. Streets sloping toward Tunks Park, Primrose Park and Middle Harbour are surrounded by bushland and exposed to wind and heavy rain. Falling branches, water entering outdoor fittings and damp subfloors cause faults. We install sealed outdoor gear, check garden lighting and outdoor power points, and find storm-related faults quickly.
A few. Tarella in Amherst Street, a c. 1886 Italianate mansion, and the Cammeray Substation in Bellevue Street are both heritage listed. For heritage properties and older homes, we keep external changes discreet and protect original features. Check with North Sydney Council before any visible alteration to a listed building.
Usually. Cammeray averages 1.4 vehicles per dwelling, and many houses have a garage or driveway, though steep blocks can make cable routes longer. We check board capacity, run a dedicated circuit and mount the charger in a practical, sheltered spot. In unit blocks we coordinate basement access and load limits with the strata committee.
We do. Miller Street and Cammeray Square host restaurants, cafes and small businesses, and the cluster next to Green Park adds a few more. We install kitchen and refrigeration circuits, fix lighting and signage, fit emergency and exit lights, and plan noisy work outside busy trading periods.
Every storey of a NSW rental needs a working alarm. Tenants’ fault reports must be acted on inside two business days, and each alarm is retired by the tenth year after it was made. Hard-wired units are a licensed electrician’s job. With 41.3 per cent of Cammeray homes rented, we regularly replace smoke alarms for landlords and supply dated records.
All of Cammeray 2062, including Miller Street, Cammeray Square, Cammeray Road, Green Park, Cammeray Park, Anzac Park, Tunks Park, Primrose Park, Folly Point, St Thomas Rest Park and Amherst, Palmer, Bellevue and Falcon Streets. We also work every week in Crows Nest, Naremburn, North Sydney, Northbridge, Neutral Bay and Cremorne.
