Lighting, power points, ceiling fans, switchboard and safety switch upgrades, smoke alarms, rewiring and fault finding – we look after every part of a home’s electrical system. Mosman housing runs from 1880s to 1930s semis and Federation homes through to interwar flats and harbourside rebuilds, and each era brings its own wiring history. We work on all of them.

The Military Road and Spit Junction strips run on small business: cafes, consulting rooms, boutiques, salons and offices above the shops. We cover fit-outs, three-phase supply, data cabling, emergency and exit lighting, and maintenance planned around your trading hours.

We provide same-day service across Mosman, Balmoral, Beauty Point, Clifton Gardens and Spit Junction. Storms bring branches down on the overhead lines that still feed much of the suburb, and we deal with failed switchboards, damaged consumer mains and water-affected wiring. We make the site safe first, then quote.
At Olympic Electrical, we are proud to be the electricians Mosman families, strata committees and business owners trust. Every job is handled by fully licensed tradespeople with years of experience behind them and a standard of work we stand by.
Whether it is a straightforward installation, a switchboard upgrade, power out to a shed or studio, or an emergency electrician at short notice, we are equipped for it. We are more than just electricians – we are the local electrician experts across the lower North Shore, for every job big and small.
We are just a call away – wherever you are in Mosman, from Balmoral and Chinamans Beach through to Beauty Point, Clifton Gardens, Georges Heights, Spit Junction and The Spit, we get an electrician to you fast.

Ceramic fuses, no safety switches, undersized mains and brittle rubber cable are common in the 1880s to 1930s stock. Usually a switchboard upgrade with RCDs, then targeted rewiring where circuits test poorly.
Just over half of Mosman is apartments. Most calls come down to one question: is the fault in your lot or on common property? We find it, tell you which, and put it in writing for strata.
Salt air eats terminals, screws and fittings. Outdoor power points, garden lighting and pool circuits near the water fail years early. We fit sealed enclosures and stainless fixings rated for the exposure, and check them at every safety check.
13 conservation areas and around 500 heritage items. Internal wiring is rarely the issue. It is conduit, air conditioning and antennas visible from the street or harbour. We route the work out of sight and flag approvals first.

All our electricians are fully licensed, insured, and continuously trained to stay current with industry standards. We bring years of hands-on experience to every project, making sure your electrical work is done safely and to the highest possible standard.

From the first quote to the final invoice, you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for. Our clear communication and honest approach help you plan your project with complete confidence.

When something goes wrong, it goes to the front of the queue. Our electricians respond quickly and offer same-day service, so power and safety are restored without a long wait.

We’re proud to be a top-rated Sydney electrician, with 250+ happy customers and a long list of five-star reviews behind us. That reputation is built on turning up, doing the job properly and standing behind it.

Olympic Electrical started in 2017 with one van, a licence and a simple promise: turn up when we say we will, and charge what we quoted. Spyro still runs the business the same way today, and the team has grown to five-plus licensed electricians working across Sydney and through Mosman and the lower North Shore every week.
You deal with tradespeople, not a call centre. The electrician who quotes your job is the electrician who does it, the site is left clean, and the workmanship is backed by a lifetime labour guarantee. That is how we have built a base of more than 250 happy customers and thousands of completed jobs.

Mosman has one of the highest rates of electric vehicle ownership in New South Wales, running at roughly three and a half times the state average. Home charging is now one of the fastest-growing parts of our work here, and it is rarely as simple as hanging a charger on the wall.

Electrical work in NSW must meet strict Australian Standards. Every installation, repair and upgrade we complete in Mosman is carried out to current safety codes and certified on completion, and where the work is notifiable a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is lodged with a copy to you. Our electricians are licensed, insured and trained to spot ageing switchboards, undersized sub-mains and damaged cabling before they become dangerous.
You get a fixed price before any work begins, so you can approve the job knowing exactly what is included and why it costs what it does. No hidden fees, no vague hourly estimates and no unexpected charges at the end. It is a large part of why so many Mosman customers call us back, and pass our name on to a neighbour or their strata committee.
Whether it is a switchboard upgrade, new lighting or a full rewire at home, or a fit-out, three-phase supply and planned maintenance for your business, our licensed electricians handle it end to end. You get a fixed price agreed before we start, a tidy site when we leave, and a lifetime labour guarantee on every job across Mosman and the lower North Shore.
The questions we hear most from Mosman homeowners, apartment residents and strata committees. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Yes. Call us early in the day and we can usually get a licensed electrician to you the same day across Mosman, Balmoral, Beauty Point, Clifton Gardens, Georges Heights and Spit Junction. Our hours are 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday, and urgent faults are always prioritised.
Rather than a standard hourly rate, we quote the job. Once we understand the scope you get an upfront price covering labour, materials and any certification before we begin, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay. No hourly meter running, and no surprises on the invoice. Costs vary widely in Mosman depending on access, the age of the wiring and whether the property is a house, a semi or an apartment, which is exactly why we price the work rather than the clock.
Usually not. Mosman has more than 400 pairs of semi-detached homes built between the 1880s and the 1930s, and most have had circuits added over the decades rather than one original installation left untouched. The common fix is a switchboard upgrade, with RCDs and circuit breakers replacing the old ceramic fuses, plus repairs to whichever circuits test poorly. We test first and tell you which cabling is sound and which is not, so the money goes where it actually matters. Under AS/NZS 3000, replacing or altering a switchboard also triggers RCD protection on the final subcircuits it feeds, so that gets done properly as part of the upgrade.
It depends where the fault sits. Apartments make up just over half of all dwellings in Mosman, so we deal with this constantly. As a rule, the wiring, switches, outlets and fittings inside your lot are yours, while the meter room, the riser, the mains feeding the building and the common area lighting sit with the owners corporation. We can attend, find the fault, tell you plainly which side of that boundary it falls on, and give you something in writing to take to your strata manager.
Yes. Mosman has one of the highest rates of electric vehicle ownership in New South Wales, so this is regular work for us. For a house, the questions are whether your supply is single or three-phase, how much spare capacity the switchboard has, and how far the cable has to run. Since May 2023 an EV charger circuit cannot rely on an older Type AC safety switch, so a Type A or Type B device is fitted as part of the job. For an apartment, we look at the supply available in the car park, how the charger will be metered, and what the owners corporation needs to approve before anything is installed.
No, but it can change how the work is done. Mosman has 13 heritage conservation areas and around 500 heritage items, and the test Council applies is whether the work is minor or maintenance, and whether it would affect the heritage significance of the property. Internal rewiring is generally fine. What needs care is anything visible from the street or the harbour, such as external conduit runs, an air conditioning unit or a new antenna. We plan cable routes to stay out of sight, and where a Council approval or heritage exemption is needed we tell you before we start, not after.
Salt. Mosman is a peninsula with roughly 24 kilometres of foreshore, and the Australian corrosion standards place properties close to the water in a far higher corrosivity band than inland suburbs. Salt-laden air attacks screws, terminals, enclosures and light fittings, which is why an outdoor power point at Balmoral or Clifton Gardens can look ten years older than one of the same age two streets back from the water. The answer is fittings rated for the exposure, correctly sealed enclosures, stainless fixings, and having outdoor circuits looked at during a safety check rather than waiting for one to fail.
In New South Wales a rented home needs at least one working smoke alarm on each storey, in a hallway outside the bedrooms or another suitable location. As the landlord you have two business days to repair or replace an alarm that is not working, or to replace a battery, once you have been told about it, and a hard-wired smoke alarm must be repaired or replaced by a licensed electrician. Alarms also need replacing within 10 years of their manufacture date. Around a third of Mosman dwellings are rented, so we do a lot of this work for owners and managing agents.
Yes. We include a complimentary electrical safety check whenever we are on site for a booked job, covering the switchboard and safety switches, smoke alarms, visible cabling and outdoor circuits. You get a plain-English summary of anything that needs attention, with no obligation to go ahead.
Yes. Every electrician on our team is fully licensed and we carry full public liability insurance. All of our workmanship is backed by a lifetime labour guarantee, and manufacturer warranties apply to the products we supply and install.
All of it, and the neighbouring lower North Shore as well. That includes Balmoral, Beauty Point, Chinamans Beach, Clifton Gardens, Georges Heights, Spit Junction, The Spit, Mosman Bay and Mosman Junction, and it extends next door to Cremorne, Cremorne Point, Neutral Bay, Northbridge and Cammeray.
