Our seasonal specials now apply around Bronte Beach, Bronte Park and the gully, the Macpherson Street cafes, Bronte Road up toward Waverley Cemetery and the streets above Nelson Bay. Say you saw the offer when you ring and we will fold it into the quote.

Bronte was built late compared with the rest of Waverley. The Dictionary of Sydney says houses went up in large numbers on the cliffs and ridges during the 1920s and 1930s. Today the 2021 Census shows 49.4 per cent flats, 30.8 per cent separate houses and 18.6 per cent terraces or townhouses, with 28.5 per cent of homes holding four or more bedrooms. Interwar brick homes, extended cottages and older apartment blocks all come our way for rewiring, lighting redesigns and board replacements.

Commercial Bronte is small by design. The Dictionary of Sydney counts 11 shops at the beach, the same number as in the 1950s, plus the cafe and restaurant cluster on Macpherson Street. We handle kitchen circuits, outdoor dining lighting and fit-out wiring for these operators, timed around their busiest beach mornings.

Same-day service reaches every Bronte street, from the beachfront up to Bronte Road. Typical urgent jobs here: salt-corroded outdoor fittings tripping the safety switch after rain, a dead circuit in an interwar house, and failed lighting in a unit block foyer.
Much of our Bronte work comes from owners bringing interwar houses up to modern use: adding circuits for home offices, rewiring for bigger kitchens, and swapping old fuse panels. Legal and finance professionals make up a strong share of Bronte workers in the Census, and many run part of their week from home. As a Bronte electrician we also look after apartment blocks, landlords and the handful of cafes near the beach.
Steep streets and sea air shape the jobs. Outdoor lights on clifftop balconies corrode, garden circuits along sloping blocks take water, and older units need extra capacity for air conditioning. If something fails suddenly, book an emergency electrician and a licensed member of our crew from across the Eastern Suburbs will attend.

Many Bronte homes date from the 1920s and 1930s building boom above the beach. We replace aged cable, add earthing and bring circuits up to date for kitchens, studies and air conditioning.
Flats make up 49.4 per cent of Bronte dwellings. We upgrade unit boards, repair foyer and stair lighting and explain to strata committees which faults sit with the lot and which with common property.
Sea spray and runoff down steep blocks attack outdoor fittings. We fit sealed outdoor power points, marine-grade light fittings and weatherproof junctions that keep garden and balcony circuits from tripping.
Bronte has kept its small shop strip rather than growing a large commercial centre. We add kitchen circuits, fit efficient lighting and plan work around the early rush of swimmers and walkers.

Our licensed electricians have worked through plenty of 1920s and 1930s Bronte homes and know how early cable runs were laid through brick walls and timber floors on steep blocks.

Every quote is fixed on paper after we have seen the job. An apartment near the beach and a four-bedroom house on the ridge are priced on what each really needs.

A Bronte home with no power or a Macpherson Street cafe losing its kitchen gets moved ahead of routine visits, so the fault is sorted within working hours.

Bronte owners, renters and cafe operators are among our 250+ customers, and many of our jobs here arrive through neighbours along the same street.

Every circuit we wire in a Bronte house, unit or shop is covered for labour for life, including cabling hidden behind freshly finished plaster.

Let us know your street and whether parking near the beach will be tight. We then suggest a weekday slot that avoids the busiest summer crowds around Bronte Park.

Once we have looked at your board and wiring, we explain the options clearly and send one fixed written figure, so costs are settled well before work starts.

Beach traffic on Bronte Road can back up, so we plan the route and arrive inside the window we agreed. If we are running late, you will hear from us first.

Before we leave, floors are swept, packaging goes in our van, and you receive your compliance certificate with notes on what was changed in the home.

Nearby suburbs we also serve

Spyro founded our business in 2017 and the team has grown to five-plus licensed electricians who work in Bronte most weeks. The suburb suits careful work: steep driveways, older brick homes and clifftop balconies all need thought before a cable goes in. From a switchboard swap in a unit block to lighting for a renovated interwar house near Bronte Park, the person who scopes the job stays on it until it is finished.

According to the Dictionary of Sydney, Bronte homes were built in large numbers on the cliffs and ridges between 1920 and 1930, and many originals remain. Their early fuse panels were never designed for induction cooking, air conditioning and home offices, so board upgrades top our Bronte workload.

NSW requires a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work at the end of every job, and each Bronte visit gets one. In houses nearly a century old, wiring we disturb is either brought up to standard or noted in writing for the owner. AS/NZS 3000 requires RCDs on final subcircuits whenever a board is replaced or altered, and since 1 May 2023 Type AC units are banned from new installations, so we fit better types.
Our price is fixed and written before work begins. A lighting upgrade in a flat above the beach might take a morning, while the same scope in a two-storey interwar house on a steep Bronte block can mean long cable runs, underfloor access and patching. We look first, explain what is involved, then commit to one amount.
Old fuse panel in an interwar Bronte home, rusty balcony lights, or a unit block with failing foyer lighting? Phone 02 8999 3691 and one of our licensed electricians will inspect it, give you a written fixed quote and guarantee the labour for life.
Bronte house owners, unit landlords, strata committees and beach cafe operators ask us these most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
In most cases, yes. Our hours are 7am to 5:30pm on weekdays and 7am to 2pm on Saturdays, and we are closed Sundays. Bronte is close to the routes we cover daily, so calling 02 8999 3691 in the morning usually gets someone there that day. Burning smells, sparking outlets or a whole house without power are dealt with first.
We do not quote blind. Two similar-sounding Bronte jobs can differ widely once access, slope and wiring age are taken into account. After a proper look we set a fixed price in writing, and it stays that way unless you ask for more work.
Not always, but it should be checked. Interwar homes here often carry a mix of original rubber-insulated cable and later additions, with few or no safety switches. We test insulation and earthing, show you which circuits are sound, and quote a partial or full rewire depending on what we find and your renovation plans.
Bronte homes facing the ocean take a lot of sea spray, and standard fittings corrode quickly. We replace them with marine-grade or sealed options, use stainless fixings, and make sure outdoor circuits are on RCD protection so a wet fault trips safely.
Usually the lot owner covers wiring from their unit board into the apartment, while the owners corporation covers main boards, meter rooms, foyer and stair lighting. With almost half of Bronte homes being flats, we get asked this regularly. We find the fault first, then give both you and the strata manager a written summary.
Where there is off-street parking, usually yes. The 2021 Census recorded 1.5 vehicles per Bronte dwelling, and many houses on the ridge have a garage. We check spare capacity at the board, run a dedicated circuit to the car space and fit the unit. In apartment buildings we confirm strata consent first.
You need a working alarm on every level, repairs within two business days of being told about a fault, and replacement of any alarm older than ten years from manufacture. Hard-wired units must be installed by a licensed electrician. With 38.6 per cent of Bronte homes rented, we often do these jobs between tenancies and leave dated records for your agent, along with any smoke alarm upgrades needed.
Yes. Bronte House on Bronte Road and Waverley Cemetery are both heritage listed, and older homes nearby often have original ceilings and joinery worth protecting. We plan cable routes to avoid visible conduits, keep new fittings off street-facing walls where possible, and suggest you check with Waverley Council if approvals might apply.
We can. Macpherson Street and the beach shops trade from early morning, when swimmers and coastal walkers arrive. We plan circuits for coffee machines, ovens and fridges, add LED lighting and exit signs, and schedule disruptive work outside peak times so the doors stay open.
Every electrician on our team is licensed in NSW and insured. Spyro founded the business in 2017, and our crew has now worked on more than 7,000 projects across Sydney. All labour carries a lifetime guarantee, and each Bronte job finishes with its compliance certificate and a note of what changed.
All of Bronte 2024 is on our map, including Bronte Beach, Bronte Park, Ebsworth Glen, Macpherson Street, Bronte Road, Nelson Avenue, Trafalgar Street, Murray Street and Yanko Avenue.
