Own a Federation home on Queens Park Road, a Victorian house on the eastern edge or a flat off Birrell Street? Our seasonal deals for Queens Park reach York Road, Baronga Avenue and the streets facing Queen’s Park too. Mention the offer while booking and we apply it to your job.

The 2021 Census split Queens Park housing three ways: 36.0 per cent detached houses, 38.0 per cent semis, terraces and townhouses, and 25.8 per cent flats. Victorian homes line the eastern edge and Federation houses dominate the northern side, so original lath ceilings, timber floors and century-old cable are routine finds. A third of dwellings have four or more bedrooms, which means long cable runs, busy family kitchens and boards stretched by extensions. We do rewires for Victorian and Federation homes, extra circuits and board replacements.

Queens Park is almost entirely residential, bordered by the Centennial Parklands playing fields and the Moriah College campus on Queens Park Road. On Census day 2021, 57.9 per cent of working residents did their jobs from home, so our non-domestic work here leans toward home offices, home-based practices and network cabling for people running a business from the back room.

Same-day service covers every street between Bronte Road and the park. The urgent jobs we see in this housing: a Federation board with rewireable fuses that keeps blowing, a semi where a shared wall fault kills power to both sides, and scorched outlets behind a heavily loaded kitchen bench.
Families make up most of our Queens Park work. The Census found couples with children in 55.1 per cent of local families, well above the state figure, and those households run pool pumps, induction cooktops, home offices and two cars on wiring laid down generations ago. As a Queens Park electrician we spend a lot of time adding circuits to renovated rear wings, moving boards out of cramped entry halls and fitting LED downlights under ornate ceilings without cracking the plaster.
The suburb was carved out of Bondi Junction in 1992, yet its houses are far older. Around Blenheim Street and Alt Street the semis share party walls and sometimes a tangle of shared supply that needs careful untangling. When something fails suddenly, an emergency electrician from our team can usually reach the park end the same day, and we cover neighbouring streets right across the Eastern Suburbs.

Victorian homes face the eastern side of the suburb and Federation houses fill the northern streets. We replace brittle early cable and add earthing while protecting pressed-metal ceilings, cornices and leadlight joinery.
Semis, terraces and townhouses make up 38.0 per cent of Queens Park dwellings, triple the state share. We trace crossed supplies and install separate safety switches so one household's fault stays on its own side.
About a third of homes here have four bedrooms or more. We size new boards for ducted air, pool gear and EV chargers so a growing family does not outrun its wiring again.
Nearly 58 per cent of working locals were at home on Census day 2021. We add dedicated circuits, data points and quiet lighting so a spare bedroom or studio functions like a proper office.

Between them, our licensed electricians have opened plenty of Queens Park walls and ceilings, and we know the difference between Victorian cloth-sheathed cable and the later Federation runs hidden under floorboards.

We walk through your house first, then commit one written figure. A Baronga Avenue flat and a two-storey Queens Park Road home are costed separately because their access differs.

A dead board in a York Road semi with kids at home or a smoking outlet in a family kitchen gets moved forward on the day’s schedule.

More than 250 customers across the eastern suburbs rate our work, and many Queens Park bookings come through neighbours who watched our van parked outside next door.

Workmanship on each Queens Park circuit comes with a lifetime labour promise, including wiring we thread behind restored cornices and original joinery.

Ring or message us with your street and any parking quirks near the park or the Moriah College drop-off zone, and we find a slot around school runs and work calls.

After seeing your board and the cable paths through the roof space, we explain the options plainly and email one fixed figure before any tools come out.

We plan around Bronte Road traffic and weekend sport crowds at the park so the van arrives inside the window we promised, and we phone if anything shifts.

Drop sheets protect polished floorboards, we cart every offcut away, and a written summary of each circuit changed arrives alongside your compliance paperwork.

When Spyro launched the company in 2017 he set one rule: turn up prepared and explain the work honestly. We now have more than five licensed electricians, and Queens Park keeps us busy with family homes where old Federation wiring meets modern appliance loads. Our crew handles lighting design, switchboards, pool and outdoor power, and home office cabling here, and the electrician who quotes your job is usually the one who finishes it.

Spyro speaking. Old fuse board in your Queens Park house, or lights that dim every time the oven heats up? Phone me on 02 8999 3691 and I will get one of our electricians round to test it properly.

Most Queens Park houses date from the Victorian and Federation eras, and 37.0 per cent of homes are owned outright, so many boards have simply been left alone for decades. Family loads have grown faster than those boards, which makes a switchboard upgrade the job we recommend most often in 2022.

NSW rules call for a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work on every job, and each Queens Park visit of ours gets one. With so many homes over a century old, that often means reporting faults we find in older sections of wiring, not just the part we were called for. When a board is altered, AS/NZS 3000 requires RCD protection on its final subcircuits, while Type AC devices have been barred from fresh installations from 1 May 2023.
Every quote from us is a fixed figure in writing, agreed before work begins. Guessing over the phone does not suit Queens Park. Adding lights to a flat near Birrell Street might take a morning, whereas the same lights in a two-storey Federation home on Queens Park Road can mean crawling through a tight roof void and working around ornate plaster. We look first, then price the real job.
Planning a kitchen renovation in a Federation house, worried about an old fuse board in your Victoria Street semi, or setting up a proper home office? Ring 02 8999 3691 to have one of our licensed team look over the house, commit a fixed written price, and back the labour with a lifetime guarantee.
Queens Park families, semi owners and people working from home tend to ask us these questions. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Quite often, yes. We work weekdays between 7am and 5:30pm and Saturdays from 7am until 2pm, and Queens Park sits between suburbs we visit constantly. Phoning 02 8999 3691 in the morning gives us the best chance of a same-day visit. Let us know straight away about burning smells, sparking or a main switch that will not reset, because our dispatcher bumps those faults above planned work.
By looking at it first. Federation and Victorian houses in Queens Park vary so much in roof access, wall construction and past repairs that a phone estimate would only be a guess. We inspect, explain what the work involves, and send a written fixed figure. If you later want extras, we price those separately so the original number never drifts.
In most cases, yes. Boards of that age usually lack RCD protection, and years of piecemeal additions often leave circuits overloaded or poorly earthed. Plenty of Queens Park homes have not changed hands for decades, so the board may date from well before modern appliances. We test each circuit, show you which cables are sound and quote a replacement that suits your current and future loads.
Sometimes. Older semis were occasionally wired with shared runs, crossed neutrals or a single meter position serving both homes, and those problems only surface when one side renovates. With 38 per cent of Queens Park dwellings being semis, terraces or townhouses, we trace these faults often. We separate the circuits so each home has its own protection and give both owners a written summary.
A few places are listed, such as the Charing Cross homestead at 11 Victoria Street on the State Heritage Register, and Waverley Council oversees external changes on many older streets. Work inside the walls rarely raises issues. What needs thought is anything seen from outside: a new meter enclosure, surface conduit or a floodlight on a Federation gable. Talk to Waverley Council first if your plans touch the front of the house.
Yes, where there is off-street parking. The Census puts local households at 1.4 cars per dwelling, and more of those are becoming electric. Our electrician measures what headroom the board has left, lays a separate feed out to the garage or carport and fixes a wall charger with the right protection. For semis without a driveway, a rear lane garage is often the best location.
On Census day 2021 almost 58 per cent of working Queens Park residents were at home, and many kept the habit. A dedicated circuit for computers and printers, a couple of extra power points at desk height, wired data to the router and good task lighting make a big difference. We plan it around the room, so cords stop trailing across the floor.
Yes. Where a Queens Park home has a pool, deck or backyard studio added over the years, the outdoor supply is sometimes borrowed from an indoor circuit never meant for it. We install weatherproof outlets, garden and path lighting, and properly protected feeds for pumps and heaters, with cable buried or run in conduit to current standards.
Each of our electricians carries a current NSW contractor licence plus public liability cover. Since Spyro opened the doors in 2017, the team has wrapped up upwards of 7,000 projects. Workmanship on the circuits we install carries a lifetime labour guarantee, and each job comes with a Certificate of Compliance lodged in your name.
Every address in Queens Park 2022 is on our run, from Queens Park Road, Victoria Street and Birrell Street through York Road, Baronga Avenue, Alt Street, Blenheim Street and the Bronte Road side, plus homes facing Queen’s Park itself.
