Concord is house country. The 2021 Census found 70.6 per cent of occupied homes here were separate houses, above the 65.6 per cent NSW figure, and 38.2 per cent had four or more bedrooms. Owners hold 43.7 per cent of them outright, so plenty of boards we open have carried decades of add-ons. We put in circuits for rear extensions and second living rooms, swap tired fuse panels, run LED downlights through open-plan renovations and hang ceiling fans in upstairs bedrooms.

Trade in Concord is small and neighbourly: the Majors Bay Road Shopping Village with its cafes, restaurants, Coles Local, post office and medical centre, plus the dining corner of Mortlake Street and Brays Road at Cabarita Junction. We handle shop and clinic electrical work, extra kitchen circuits, sign lighting and exit lights, timed so doors stay open.

Concord gets same-day service from our vans when something fails outright. Typical calls include a main switch that drops each time the ducted air starts, a scorched outlet behind a fridge in an older kitchen, water inside a garden light after a storm rolls off the Parramatta River, or half a two-storey home suddenly dark.
Families drive most of our Concord bookings. The 2021 Census counted 52.9 per cent of local families as couples with children, and those homes keep growing: a rumpus room out the back, a studio above the garage, a granny flat by the fence. As the Concord electrician plenty of neighbours already call, we work out what the existing board can carry before a new circuit goes in, then wire the addition properly the first time.
Concord skews a little older too, with a median age of 43 and many long-held houses around Queen Elizabeth Park, Burton Street and the Exile Bay end of Sanders Parade. There we replace worn switches, fix brittle leads out to sheds, add power for workshops and respond to urgent electrical faults that cannot wait. Cafe owners on Majors Bay Road ring when a coffee machine circuit keeps cutting out. We handle all of that here and right across the Inner West.

Nearly four in ten Concord dwellings have four or more bedrooms. We spread loads across circuits, add dedicated feeds for ducted air and kitchens, and relabel boards so every room can be isolated quickly.
Owners hold 43.7 per cent of Concord homes outright, against 31.5 per cent statewide. Long ownership often means original switchboards with rewireable fuses and no residual current protection anywhere in the house.
Homes near Exile Bay, Majors Bay Reserve and the Concord Foreshore Trail take damp air off the Parramatta River. We fit weatherproof outlets, garden lighting and shed circuits rated for that exposure.
The shopping village mixes cafes, restaurants, a supermarket and a medical centre. We add kitchen circuits, repair signage and window lighting, test exit lights and book disruptive work outside opening hours.

Our licensed crew has worked through many of Concord’s big brick family homes, where decades of extensions leave cable runs, junction boxes and board labels that rarely line up.

A Majors Bay Road shop and a four-bedroom house near Cintra Park each get their own written figure after we inspect, and that number holds unless you add work.

When a Concord board trips and refuses to reset, we shuffle the day to reach you and explain how to isolate the circuit safely while the van is on its way.

Plenty of our 250+ customers heard about us at Concord school gates, at the sporting clubs around Concord Oval, or from neighbours along Brewer Street who passed our number on.

Any circuit we install in a Concord home or shop carries lifelong cover on the labour, so fixing our own workmanship never costs you a cent in time.

Ring or message with your street and a quick description of the fault. We offer a morning or afternoon slot that suits school pick-ups or trading hours along Majors Bay Road.

Our electrician inspects the board and the rooms involved, lays out the options in plain words and sends a written figure before a single cable gets cut.

Majors Bay Road and Brewer Street are extra wide, a leftover from the old double tramway, so parking the van is simple. We arrive inside the agreed window or phone ahead.

Drop sheets protect polished floorboards, old fittings and offcuts leave in the van, and you receive the compliance certificate plus a short list of every circuit we changed.

Local pockets we cover in Concord
Nearby suburbs we also serve

Spyro founded the business in 2017, and it has since grown to five-plus licensed electricians, with Concord among the suburbs we visit most weeks. The work here rewards patience: roomy homes, long cable runs and owners who plan to stay put. We have rewired rear extensions off Burton Street, renewed boards near Henley Park and kept Cabarita Junction eateries trading. The electrician who quotes your job is usually the one who finishes it.

Spyro speaking. If your Concord board is older than your kids, or the lights in the back extension keep flickering, call 02 8999 3691 and I will send a licensed electrician round to check it properly.

Concord households averaged 1.8 motor vehicles per dwelling at the 2021 Census, and 70.6 per cent of homes are separate houses, which gives many owners somewhere off the street to plug in. Chargers are now one of the upgrades we quote most here, usually alongside a board check.

Each Concord job finishes with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, as NSW law expects. Many houses here have been extended two or three times, so once we alter or replace a board, AS/NZS 3000 obliges us to put RCD protection on every final subcircuit, including those half-forgotten feeds to sheds and studios. Type AC devices have been barred from new installations since 1 May 2023, so Type A is our minimum.
Nothing gets priced blind in Concord. A lighting upgrade in one of the suburb’s flats, which make up 16.5 per cent of homes, is a very different job from the same work in a two-storey house off Majors Bay Road with timber floors and a deep roof space. We look at the site, tell you what is involved and send one fixed figure in writing, which only moves if you ask for more.
Fuse board still in the laundry, a back extension needing power, or a Majors Bay Road kitchen that needs another circuit before the lunch rush? Ring 02 8999 3691. A licensed electrician will look at it in person, give you a written fixed figure and back the labour for life.
Concord owners, growing families and Majors Bay Road traders put these questions to us most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Most days, yes. Our hours are 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm on Saturday, and our vans pass through Concord along Parramatta Road and Concord Road often. Phone 02 8999 3691 before mid-morning for the best chance of a visit that afternoon. Anything involving heat, smoke or a board that will not reset gets handled ahead of routine bookings.
We see the job before naming a figure. Replacing lights in a single-level brick home near Cintra Park takes far less time than chasing new cable through a two-storey renovation with finished plaster and a tiled kitchen. After the inspection you get a written fixed price, and it stays put unless you decide to add something.
Many homes here have stayed in one family for a long time, and 43.7 per cent are owned outright. Each renovation added circuits, but the board often stayed the same, so we find ceramic fuses, missing RCDs and circuits sharing neutrals. Modern loads like ducted air, induction cooking and car chargers expose those limits fast. We test what is there, explain what is safe and quote a board sized for the house.
First we check whether the existing supply and board can carry a second dwelling. Often that means a submain from the main board to a separate distribution board in the flat, though big existing loads may call for a load assessment. We run the submain, wire lighting, power and smoke alarms, and hand over the certificate your certifier will ask for. Service mains and new network connections are outside what we do.
Yes, and with an average of 1.8 vehicles per home, it is a frequent request in 2137. We confirm the board has spare capacity, run a dedicated circuit to the garage or carport and set the charger up with the right protection. If the house already has three-phase power, faster units are worth discussing. Share the car and charger model when you book so the quote is accurate.
It can. Around Exile Bay, Majors Bay Reserve and the foreshore trail, salt and moisture off the Parramatta River get into outdoor fittings sooner. We use weatherproof outlets and sealed light fittings, keep cable joins out of garden beds and put outdoor circuits behind RCDs. If a garden light trips the safety switch after rain, water getting into the fitting is the usual culprit.
Concord has a long tinkering streak; the Victa lawn mower was first built in a local garage in 1952. Many garages here now hold workshops, freezers or gym gear. We run a dedicated circuit or a small sub-board out to the garage or shed, add enough outlets for power tools, fit bright LED battens and protect the lot with RCDs.
Yes. The Majors Bay Road Shopping Village holds cafes, restaurants, a Coles Local, a post office and a medical centre, and each needs power that stays on. We add circuits for coffee machines and ovens, repair sign lighting, test emergency and exit lights and install data cabling for reception desks. Noisy or disruptive tasks can be booked outside trading hours.
Usually. Concord homes average 3.3 bedrooms, so they run a lot of lights, and old halogen downlights get hot inside ceilings. Moving to LED fittings cuts that heat and the running cost. We check each fitting’s clearance to insulation, remove old transformers and can put living areas on dimmers while we are up there.
Every electrician we send is licensed and insured. Spyro started the business in 2017, and our team of five-plus electricians has since finished more than 7,000 projects. Labour on every job, Concord ones included, is guaranteed for life, and you keep a compliance certificate for each visit.
