On acreage off Barkers Lodge Road, a regular at Oakdale Workers Club, or living near Willis Park and the Oakdale Shops? This month’s Oakdale specials also cover properties along Egans Road and Steveys Forest Road. Say the offer when booking and we include it.

Oakdale is semi-rural Wollondilly, 86 km west-southwest of the CBD and 430 metres above sea level. Census 2021 found 96.7 per cent of its 634 occupied dwellings were separate houses, mostly large family homes with 53.7 per cent at four bedrooms or more. Many sit on acreage with stables, sheds and long cable runs to outbuildings. We handle home electrical work of every kind here, from new lighting in the main house to sub-boards for horse paddocks and workshops along Burragorang Road.

Oakdale began with timber-getters in the 1860s and later became a coal town; the Oakdale State Mine operated from 1956 to 1999. Today local work leans to trades, road freight and equestrian centres. We wire stables, arenas, workshops and the small retail strip, plus commercial maintenance for clubs and halls.

Our same-day service runs out to Oakdale even though it sits well west of Camden. Common urgent calls: a shed sub-board burnt out, power lost to stables after a storm, or a home board tripping repeatedly once smoke or heat damages an outdoor line.
Oakdale customers are mostly owner-occupiers, with 52.7 per cent paying off a mortgage and 30.1 per cent owning outright, and they often want work done properly the first time. Trades are the top local occupation at 21 per cent, so we wire plenty of home workshops, compressor circuits and lighting for trucks and plant. As your Oakdale electrician we also set up power for horse properties such as the equestrian centres on Barkers Lodge Road.
Distance and bushland shape the work. Oakdale was named among threatened localities during the Green Wattle Creek fire in December 2019, so owners ask us about outdoor wiring, generator inlets and clear labelling for firefighters. From an urgent fault on acreage to a planned upgrade, our vans make the drive out regularly as part of runs across Macarthur.

Oakdale has several equestrian centres along Barkers Lodge Road. We wire stables, arenas, float bays and wash areas, with sub-boards placed where they are safe and easy to reach.
Wollondilly certified a new bush fire prone land map on 30 May 2023. We route outdoor cables underground where practical, fit sealed fittings and label isolation points so crews can shut power off quickly.
More than half of Oakdale homes have four or more bedrooms. We add circuits for air conditioning, induction cooking and home offices, and upgrade lighting across big open living spaces and verandahs.
Older rural boards often feed a house, shed and pump from one small enclosure. We rebuild them with modern RCD protection and separate circuits so a fault in one outbuilding does not black out the home.

Our licensed electricians regularly work on Oakdale acreage, so long underground runs to sheds, sub-boards in stables and voltage drop over distance are problems we already know how to solve.

After walking the property, we give you one fixed written price. A family home near Willis Park and a horse property off Barkers Lodge Road get quotes based on their own layouts.

When a storm knocks out power to your stables or a shed board starts smoking, we reshuffle the day so a licensed electrician makes the drive to Oakdale as soon as possible.

Our 250+ customers include semi-rural owners across Wollondilly, and many in Oakdale came to us through word of mouth at the Workers Club or local horse circles.

Our labour on every Oakdale job is guaranteed for life, whether it is a trench-fed supply to a workshop or new lighting inside a four-bedroom family home.

Book a time and tell us about gates, dogs, livestock and where the shed or stables sit. On larger blocks a quick map of outbuildings helps us plan the job.

We look at the main board, any sub-boards and the distances involved, then send a written fixed price. Long cable runs are measured, not guessed, so the figure holds.

Oakdale is a fair drive from our other jobs, so we plan the route and confirm the arrival window. If Burragorang Road traffic or weather slows us, we call ahead.

Trenches are backfilled, offcuts and old cable go back in the van, everything is tested in front of you and the compliance certificate is handed over before we leave.

Local pockets we cover in Oakdale
Nearby suburbs we also serve

Spyro set up the business in 2017, and the crew now numbers more than five licensed electricians who travel well beyond suburban Sydney. Oakdale is one of the places that shows why. Jobs here involve acreage, stables, workshops and bushfire-conscious owners, and they reward careful planning. The electrician who inspects your property also carries out the work and signs it off, so nothing gets lost between visits.

Trades are Oakdale’s largest occupation group at 21 per cent, and 39.5 per cent of households run three or more vehicles, so big sheds and workshops are common. Getting safe, adequate power out to them is the job we are asked for most in Oakdale.

Each Oakdale job finishes with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, as NSW law demands, and we lodge it for you. On acreage we test every outbuilding supply we touch and note anything unsafe in writing. When a board is altered, AS/NZS 3000 brings RCD protection to all final subcircuits, and Type AC devices have been barred from new work since 1 May 2023.
We inspect first, then give you one fixed price in writing. Distance changes everything in Oakdale: adding a few lights in a family home near the Oakdale Shops is quick, whereas trenching cable a hundred metres to a stable block off Barkers Lodge Road needs machinery, conduit and heavier cable. Walking the property keeps the price accurate.
Shed power that keeps tripping, stables needing lights, or an old rural board overdue for replacement? Call 02 8999 3691. A licensed electrician will come out to your Oakdale property, measure everything up and give you a fixed written price, with labour guaranteed for life.
Oakdale acreage owners, tradespeople and horse owners ask us these questions most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often, yes, though Oakdale sits well west of Camden so an early call helps. Our electricians work from 7am to 5:30pm on weekdays and from 7am until 2pm on Saturdays. Phone 02 8999 3691 before mid-morning for the best chance of a same-day visit. Smoke, sparks or a board that will not reset go ahead of routine work.
We visit and measure. On acreage the distance from the main board to a shed or stable, the ground conditions for trenching and the load you plan to run all shape the cost. Once we have seen it, you get a fixed written price, and it only changes if you ask for extra work.
Yes, this is routine for us in Oakdale. We calculate cable size for the distance so equipment runs properly, lay it underground in conduit, install a sub-board with its own RCDs at the outbuilding and fit lighting and outlets to suit. Horses, vehicles and slashers are all considered when we pick the cable route.
Oakdale was named among threatened localities in the December 2019 Green Wattle Creek fire, and Wollondilly certified a new bush fire prone land map in May 2023. We suggest underground supply to outbuildings where practical, sealed outdoor fittings, labelled isolation switches and a generator inlet with a proper changeover switch so backup power is safe.
Yes. Rural blocks can be without power for a while after storms, so many Oakdale owners want a way to run essentials from a portable generator. We fit an approved inlet and changeover switch at the board, which keeps generator power from feeding back into the street network and protects line workers.
If neighbours are also out, the fault is probably on the Endeavour Energy network, so report it to them on 131 003. If only your property is dark, turn off the main switch if it is safe and call us. Stay well away from any fallen lines and ring 000 if there is fire or a line on the ground.
Usually. Oakdale households average 2.6 vehicles, and most homes have garages or carports close to the meter. We check the board can handle the extra load, run a dedicated circuit and mount a wall charger. For homes with a distant garage we size the cable for the run.
We do. Oakdale has several equestrian centres along Barkers Lodge Road. We wire stable blocks, arena lighting, wash bays and tack rooms, use LED lighting and fittings suited to dust and moisture, add ceiling fans to tack rooms if wanted, and place boards and switches where horses cannot reach them.
Often it makes sense. Many older rural boards were built to supply only the house and now feed sheds, pumps and outbuildings as well, with limited RCD protection. We test the existing setup, explain what is safe, and quote a replacement with separate protected circuits so one outbuilding fault does not cut power to the whole home.
All of Oakdale 2570, including Burragorang Road, Barkers Lodge Road, Egans Road, Steveys Forest Road, Willis Park, the Oakdale Shops, Workers Club, Community Hall and Public School. We also work regularly in The Oaks, Picton, Thirlmere, Tahmoor, Camden South, Camden, Elderslie, Menangle and Bargo.
