Living off Tryon Road, near Wellington Sportsground, or on a Canberra Crescent block facing Follies Park? Our East Lindfield specials also reach Carlyle Road Reserve and Pleasant Avenue. Mention this deal when you ring, and we will knock it off your written quote.

East Lindfield is overwhelmingly detached housing. The 2021 Census put separate houses at 87.9 per cent of dwellings, well above the 65.6 per cent NSW figure, and 68.2 per cent of homes had four or more bedrooms. Most streets were built out in the 1950s and 1960s, so plenty of boards still run porcelain fuses, and later extensions often hang off one tired circuit. We handle full or partial rewiring, upgraded kitchens and ensuites, and extra lighting for large family floor plans between Tryon Road and Middle Harbour Road.

This is a quiet residential pocket with no shopping strip of its own; retail and offices sit over in Lindfield near the station. Our non-domestic East Lindfield jobs are modest: amenity lighting and power at sports venues, knock-down-rebuild sites for builders, and commercial maintenance for owners who run a practice from a converted home.

Same-day service covers the whole of 2070 east of the railway. Typical urgent calls here: a mid-century house losing half its circuits after a storm drops a branch onto the service wire, a scorched fuse carrier in the hallway, or a safety switch that trips every time the pool pump starts.
Families are the core of our East Lindfield work. Households average 3.1 people and 45 per cent of homes are owned outright, so the typical caller is a long-term owner updating a post-war brick house rather than a landlord between leases. Jobs range from new circuits for a rear family room to garden lighting, heated towel rails and a second oven. As your East Lindfield electrician we also get asked to find faults the previous owner patched rather than fixed.
Bushland shapes the rest. Garigal National Park runs along the eastern edge, and the Two Creeks Track starts at Lindfield Oval on Tryon Road, so tall eucalypts overhang many roofs and service lines. After wild weather we handle urgent storm damage, reset what is safe and quote repairs on the rest. Our vans cover this corner of the North Shore most weekdays, usually straight after jobs in Killara or Roseville.

Most of East Lindfield went up in the 1950s and 1960s. We replace rubber and early TPS cable, fit earthing where it was skimped, and add circuits for rooms the original owners never pictured.
Homes backing onto Garigal National Park lose power when limbs strike roofs or overhead service wires. We test the internal wiring afterwards and repair what sits on your side of the meter.
With 68.2 per cent of homes holding four or more bedrooms, second storeys and rear additions are common. We plan renovation wiring early so lighting, data and power suit the finished layout.
Flats make up 11.7 per cent of dwellings here. For those owners we sort lot wiring, stairwell lighting and meter panel access with the strata manager before switching anything off.

Our licensed team has worked through plenty of 1950s and 1960s Ku-ring-gai brickwork: where original cable was clipped in the roof, which walls hide junctions, and how extensions got tacked onto one circuit.

One firm number goes on paper after we inspect. A three-bedroom original near Follies Park and a rebuilt five-bedroom home on Wellington Road simply get separate quotes, because the work differs.

When a gum branch takes out power on a Tryon Road block, or a board starts smelling hot, the call jumps our run sheet and an electrician heads over the same day.

Those 250+ customers include plenty of East Lindfield families, many referred by a neighbour after we sorted lighting, a new board or an EV point for them.

Every hour of labour we put into an East Lindfield home carries a lifetime guarantee, whether we rewired a whole post-war house or added a single circuit for a studio.

Give us your address and any access notes, like a steep driveway or a dog in the yard. We slot you in around school drop-off at Lindfield East Public or your work hours.

The electrician walks through, checks the board and roof space, then emails a fixed figure with the scope spelled out. You approve it before any cable gets cut.

East Lindfield streets have easy kerbside parking, so we arrive in the window agreed. If an earlier Killara job overruns, you get a phone call with a fresh time.

We vacuum the roof-hatch area, clear offcuts, test every circuit touched, and hand over the compliance certificate so your records for the house stay complete.

From Spyro working solo in 2017, we now field five-plus licensed electricians. East Lindfield became regular territory once word spread through the Lindfield East Public School parent crowd and the streets around Wellington Sportsground. Here we mostly upgrade post-war houses to carry modern loads, from induction cooking and ducted air to EV charging, and we look after the occasional unit block too. The electrician who quotes is usually the one who does the job.

The 2021 Census counted 1.9 registered vehicles per East Lindfield dwelling, and 87.9 per cent of homes are detached houses on their own blocks. That combination makes home charging a natural fit here, provided the board can take the extra load.

We lodge a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work after every East Lindfield job. In a 1950s or 1960s house that matters, because opening the board brings AS/NZS 3000 residual current protection onto the final subcircuits. Anything we add is Type A or better: the Type AC variety has had no place in fresh work here since 1 May 2023. Old wiring we spot but leave alone gets noted in writing for you.
Our quotes here are a fixed figure given before work begins. Phone estimates rarely hold in East Lindfield: new downlights in a recently rebuilt two-storey home with open ceilings might be quick, while the same fittings in an original single-level brick house mean crawling low roof spaces and working around old cable. So we inspect first, then commit to one written number.
Original fuse board on Wellington Road, storm damage near Garigal, or a new EV needing its own circuit? Phone 02 8999 3691 to book a licensed visit to your East Lindfield home. We explain the options plainly, leave a firm figure in writing and back our labour for life.
Owners of post-war East Lindfield houses, renovating families and a handful of unit owners send us these questions most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Most days, yes. Vans are out 7am to 5:30pm on weekdays and 7am to 2pm Saturdays; Sundays are closed. Because East Lindfield sits between suburbs on our regular runs, ringing 02 8999 3691 before lunch usually gets an electrician to you that afternoon. If a board is hot, sparking or will not hold power, say so and that visit jumps ahead of routine bookings.
Because the houses differ too much. Some have been rebuilt with modern wiring, while others still carry original 1960s circuits and patched extensions. Our electrician checks the board, the roof void and the rooms involved, then emails a written fixed figure. That number holds unless you decide to add work, so a Tryon Road original and a new build each get an honest price.
Not always, but it should be tested. Houses from that era often have cable in reasonable shape with other weak spots: ceramic fuses, no RCDs, undersized kitchen circuits and joins buried in the roof from past renovations. We insulation test the circuits, show you which ones pass, and suggest a staged plan if a full rewire is not needed yet. That way you spend where the risk actually sits.
With Garigal National Park on the eastern edge and tall gums across the suburb, this happens a lot here. We cannot touch the network line from the pole, which belongs to Ausgrid, but we can check everything on your side after a strike: the main switch, the board, the meter panel wiring and any circuits that lost power. We also fit surge protection at the board if you want extra peace of mind.
Usually. Many East Lindfield garages were built with a single light and one power point, so we run a dedicated circuit from the board and mount a wall charger on a solid surface. If the existing board is full or has no RCDs, we quote the upgrade alongside the charger so both jobs happen in one visit. We also check whether the supply can handle ducted air, cooking and charging together.
As early as the plans allow. Second-storey additions are common here because blocks are large and families stay long term. If we see the drawings before framing, we can plan lighting, power and data points properly, size the new sub-board and avoid chasing walls later. We coordinate with your builder on rough-in and fit-off so inspections run smoothly.
Yes. Owner-occupied houses are not bound by the rental rules, but many East Lindfield families still choose interconnected mains-powered alarms, so a fire detected downstairs sounds in every bedroom upstairs. We fit hard-wired smoke alarms with battery backup, place them where fire authorities recommend, and replace units past their ten-year life.
We can. Sloping gardens and paths down toward bushland are common here, and good lighting makes them safer after dark. We use weatherproof fittings rated for outdoor use, keep cables protected underground or in conduit, and add sensors or timers so lights are not left burning. Outdoor power points for garden tools or a barbecue area are easy to add at the same time.
It depends where the problem sits. Wiring from your own meter and board into your unit usually belongs to you, while the main board, hallway lights and shared power are common property. We trace the fault, tell both you and the strata manager where it lies, and put that in writing so the invoice goes to the right place.
