North Curl Curl is house country beside the ocean. The 2021 Census recorded 88.8 per cent of occupied dwellings as separate houses and just 6.7 per cent as flats, with 57.4 per cent offering four or more bedrooms. A post office opened here in 1923, so streets mix older cottages with rebuilt two-storey homes. On Pitt Road, Griffin Road and the Wingala hillside we handle switchboard replacements, rewires for older homes, outdoor lighting on steep blocks and circuits for new decks.

Local business is modest: sporting clubs, the surf club, schools and a community centre in the former women’s bowling club. Brookvale’s industrial area begins across Harbord Road. We maintain clubhouse and canteen power, field-side lighting, classroom circuits and small commercial jobs for shops and studios.

Our same-day service covers North Curl Curl from Headland Road down to the lagoon at Greendale Creek. Urgent calls here include salt-corroded outdoor fittings tripping the safety switch, a deck light shorting after a southerly, and older boards failing when a new heat pump or oven comes online.
Most of our North Curl Curl clients are long-term owners: 39.8 per cent of homes are owned outright and another 40.3 per cent are mortgaged. They call us to rewire the house they have lived in for decades, to make a knockdown-rebuild ready for handover, or to light up a garden that looks toward Dee Why Head. As your North Curl Curl electrician we also serve the local clubs and schools.
The suburb slopes from Wingala Hill down to the flat former floodplain of Curl Curl Lagoon, and salt spray from the beach reaches most streets. That means outdoor fittings corrode faster and low-lying garages can take on water. If something smells hot, sparks or leaves the house dark, book an urgent electrician; we answer calls in North Curl Curl and every beach suburb across the Northern Beaches.

Homes near North Curl Curl Beach face constant salt spray. We replace corroded fittings with marine-grade options, seal outdoor outlets and move exposed cabling into protected conduit.
The southern slopes of Wingala Hill hold many rebuilt two-storey homes. We wire new builds from rough-in to fit-off, plan lighting for stairs and decks and coordinate with builders.
Original homes on the flatter streets near the lagoon often still have ceramic fuses. We replace these with modern boards and safety switches on every circuit.
The fields north of the lagoon host soccer, baseball, cricket, netball and both rugby codes. We maintain clubhouse, canteen and amenities power and schedule work between games.

We know the North Curl Curl mix of older beach cottages and new builds, and how salt air and steep driveways shape where cables and fittings should go.

An original cottage near the lagoon and a new home on the Wingala slopes need different effort, so we inspect before committing to one clear written price.

A beach house losing power after a storm or a garage circuit tripping in wet weather gets priority, and we aim to have a licensed electrician on site that day.

Our 250+ customers include North Curl Curl owners, club committees and families at the local schools, and much of our work here comes from neighbours passing on our number.

Outdoor circuits by the coast take a beating, so the labour on every North Curl Curl job is guaranteed for life, including fittings we install on decks and balconies.

Mention the street, whether the driveway is steep and where the van can park. We book around school hours at Curl Curl North Public School and weekend sport.

Once we have seen the board, roof space and outdoor areas, you get a written fixed quote so you know the full cost before any work starts.

Beach traffic near the lagoon can be heavy on weekends, so we plan our route and arrive in the agreed window. If a bus route delay holds us up, we call.

We sweep sand and dust, clear offcuts and leave you a compliance certificate plus a labelled board, so it is easy to find any circuit later.

When Spyro started the business in 2017, beach suburbs like North Curl Curl were among the first on our run; five-plus licensed electricians now share that work. Coastal homes come with their own habits: salt air eats outdoor fittings, steep blocks make access slow, and many owners are rebuilding. We handle rewires, board upgrades, outdoor lighting and EV chargers here, with one electrician staying on your job from first look to final test.

Almost 89 per cent of North Curl Curl dwellings are separate houses, and the suburb has been settled since at least 1923 when its post office opened. Older boards without full RCD cover, combined with salt air and wet garages near the lagoon, make safety switch upgrades our most useful service here.

Once a North Curl Curl job is done we register a CCEW with NSW Fair Trading’s system and hand you the copy. On coastal homes that record helps later, because salt damage and older repairs can hide problems. Touching your board brings in the AS/NZS 3000 duty to guard every final subcircuit with residual current protection, and we use Type A units at minimum.
We price in writing, at a fixed figure, after looking at the job. North Curl Curl has two very different kinds of homes: a single-storey cottage near the lagoon may have a simple roof space, while a rebuilt two-storey home on the Wingala slopes might need ceilings opened and steep access managed. Seeing the job first means your price holds.
Salt-damaged outdoor lights, a cottage board still on fuses, or a new build near the Abbott Road fields that needs wiring? Phone 02 8999 3691 for a site inspection, a locked-in written quote and a lifetime guarantee on every hour our electricians put in.
Owners, renovators, club committees and school families in North Curl Curl raise these with us time and again. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Most days, yes. Weekday hours run from 7am through to 5:30pm, Saturdays 7am until 2pm, and nobody works Sunday. Brookvale and Dee Why are on our daily route, so North Curl Curl is a short hop and a morning call usually lands a visit that afternoon. Sparks, scorching smells or a main switch that drops straight back out go ahead of routine bookings.
Mostly the house itself, which is why we look before quoting. In North Curl Curl an open roof space in an older cottage is quick to work in, while a rebuilt home with raked ceilings and steep access takes longer. After the visit we send a fixed figure in writing, and it stays put unless you widen the scope.
Near the beach, salt spray gets into outdoor fittings and corrodes terminals, which lets moisture track to earth and trips the RCD. We test each outdoor circuit, replace failed fittings with sealed, marine-grade options and move exposed cable into conduit. Fixing the cause is better than repeatedly resetting a switch that is doing its job.
It can be. The southern part of North Curl Curl sits on the former floodplain of Curl Curl Lagoon, and low garages can collect moisture after heavy rain. We move power points higher up the wall, fit weatherproof covers, put garage circuits on their own safety switch and check for corrosion in existing fittings.
Yes. Many North Curl Curl lots are being rebuilt as larger two-storey homes. We work from your plans, coordinate temporary builder’s supply with your builder, complete rough-in before plasterers arrive and fit off once painting is done. You get a compliance certificate at handover and a clearly labelled board.
Yes. The Wingala slopes have plenty of terraced gardens and decks with views to the ocean. We install low-glare step, path and deck lighting, including LED downlights under eaves, on a separate circuit with outdoor-rated fittings, and can add timers or sensors so paths light up only when someone is walking them.
We do. North Curl Curl averages 2.1 vehicles per dwelling, and most homes have a garage or driveway. We check capacity at your board, run a dedicated circuit and mount the charger with its own protection. On older boards we may recommend an upgrade first so the charger does not overload the supply.
Yes. The fields north of the lagoon host several junior and senior clubs. We maintain lighting and power in clubhouses and canteens, add circuits for fridges, pie warmers and urns, and test emergency and exit lighting. We plan work between training sessions and games so the canteen stays open.
If your fans wobble, hum or have worn controls, replacement is worth it. Coastal breezes help, but upstairs bedrooms in two-storey homes still get warm. We install ceiling fans with proper bracing, wire them to wall controls and check that the lighting circuit can take the extra load.
All of North Curl Curl 2099, including Pitt Road, Griffin Road, Headland Road, Harbord Road, Abbott Road, Carew Street, Quirk Street, Surf Road, Wingala and the streets near the beach and lagoon.
