Lighting, power points, ceiling fans, switchboard and safety switch upgrades, smoke alarms, rewiring and fault finding – we look after every part of a home’s electrical system. Manly runs heavily to apartments, with flats and units making up the majority of dwellings, alongside Federation and interwar cottages on the hill and newer builds along the ocean side. Most of it sits within a few hundred metres of open surf, which changes what we can safely install outdoors.

The Corso, Manly Wharf and the Sydney Road strip carry cafes, restaurants, bars, surf retail and consulting suites, most of them trading seven days. We handle fit-outs, three-phase supply, refrigeration and extraction circuits, and emergency and exit lighting, scheduled outside trading where it has to be. We cover fit-outs, three-phase supply, data cabling, emergency and exit lighting, and maintenance planned around your trading hours.

Salt, wind and holiday turnover are the three things that generate emergency calls here. A tripped circuit in a short-stay apartment on a Friday afternoon is not something that can wait until Monday, and we prioritise accordingly.
At Olympic Electrical, we are proud to be the electricians Manly families, strata committees and business owners trust. Every job is handled by fully licensed tradespeople with years of experience behind them and a standard of work we stand by.
Whether it is a straightforward installation, a switchboard upgrade, power out to a shed or studio, or an emergency electrician at short notice, we are equipped for it. We are more than just electricians – we are the local electrician experts across the Northern Beaches, for every job big and small.
We are just a call away – wherever you are in Manly, from Manly Beach and The Corso through to Shelly Beach, Fairlight, Little Manly, North Head and the Manly Wharf precinct, we get an electrician to you fast.

Outdoor power points, balcony lighting and meter boxes corrode fast within a few hundred metres of open surf. We specify rated sealed enclosures, stainless fixings and correct gland sealing so the repair lasts more than one season.
Most Manly dwellings are flats. Undersized lot boards, shared circuits that trip together and ageing common property lighting are the usual calls. We confirm the lot and common property boundary in writing before any work is quoted.
High guest turnover means faults get reported late and fixed under time pressure. We handle smoke alarm compliance, safety switch upgrades and fast turnaround repairs, reporting straight to the agent or operator.
Older homes above the beach still carry brittle original wiring, two-pin outlets and ceramic fuses behind later renovations. We test each circuit, then rewire and upgrade the board in stages so the house stays liveable.

All our electricians are fully licensed, insured, and continuously trained to stay current with industry standards. We bring years of hands-on experience to every project, making sure your electrical work is done safely and to the highest possible standard.

From the first quote to the final invoice, you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for. Our clear communication and honest approach help you plan your project with complete confidence.

When something goes wrong, it goes to the front of the queue. Our electricians respond quickly and offer same-day service, so power and safety are restored without a long wait.

We’re proud to be a top-rated Sydney electrician, with 250+ happy customers and a long list of five-star reviews behind us. That reputation is built on turning up, doing the job properly and standing behind it.

We back the quality of our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee. This means you can have total confidence knowing that if any issues arise due to our work, we’ll return promptly to make it right — no extra cost, no hassle.

Booking us is easy — call, send an email, or fill out our quick online form, and we will find a time that works around your day. Our friendly team responds promptly and takes the time to understand exactly what you need.

Once we understand the scope of your project, we’ll provide a detailed and transparent quote outlining all costs upfront. We believe in honesty and clear communication, ensuring there are no hidden fees or last-minute surprises.

We turn up inside the window we promised, and if anything changes you hear from us first. Our electricians are punctual, prepared and respectful of your home or business from the moment they arrive.

Our electricians treat every property — whether it’s a home or business — with the utmost respect. We work efficiently, maintain a tidy workspace, and thoroughly clean up after the job is completed.

Olympic Electrical started in 2017 with one van, a licence and a simple promise: turn up when we say we will, and charge what we quoted. Spyro still runs the business the same way today, and the team has grown to five-plus licensed electricians working across Sydney and through Manly and the Northern Beaches every week.
You deal with tradespeople, not a call centre. The electrician who quotes your job is the electrician who does it, the site is left clean, and the workmanship is backed by a lifetime labour guarantee. That is how we have built a base of more than 250 happy customers and thousands of completed jobs.

Manly carries one of the heaviest concentrations of short-stay and holiday letting in Sydney, and those properties carry obligations an owner-occupied home does not. Guests change weekly, faults get reported late, and the person who has to evidence compliance is usually the owner or the managing agent rather than whoever is staying there.

Every job we complete in Manly is tested before we leave, and NSW requires a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work where the work calls for one. You receive a copy, which matters for owners, agents and short-stay operators who have to evidence compliance. Where a switchboard is replaced or altered, AS/NZS 3000 requires RCD protection on the final subcircuits, so the board comes up to standard as part of the job.
We quote the job, not the hour. An electrician attends, looks at the actual board, the actual access and the actual corrosion, then gives you a fixed price in writing before any work starts. For managed and short-stay properties we can quote and report directly to the agent or the operator, so the owner is not left relaying information between two parties.
Whether it is a switchboard upgrade, new lighting or a full rewire at home, or a fit-out, three-phase supply and planned maintenance for your business, our licensed electricians handle it end to end. You get a fixed price agreed before we start, a tidy site when we leave, and a lifetime labour guarantee on every job across Manly and the Northern Beaches.
The questions we hear most from Manly homeowners, apartment residents and strata committees. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Usually yes. We work 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday and hold capacity for urgent faults. Manly is a longer run than some of our Northern Beaches work, so call 02 8999 3691 early and we will tell you honestly whether today is realistic. Anything unsafe, or a fault blocking a guest check-in, goes to the front of the queue.
We quote the job rather than run an hourly meter. An electrician attends, inspects the board and the affected circuits, then gives you a fixed price in writing covering labour, materials and certification. You approve it first. Coastal properties often hide corrosion behind a fitting that looks fine, which is exactly why we look before quoting rather than guessing on the phone.
Open surf. Australian corrosion standards place property closest to breaking surf in the highest atmospheric corrosivity bands, well above a sheltered harbour suburb and far above inland Sydney. Salt-laden air attacks terminals, screws and enclosures from the inside. The answer is specifying for the exposure with properly rated sealed enclosures, stainless fixings and correct gland sealing, not just replacing like for like.
It depends where it sits. Wiring, switches and fittings inside your lot are generally yours, while the meter room, risers, common area and car park lighting and the building main board sit with the owners corporation. We test, tell you plainly which side of the line it falls on, and give you a written finding to take to your strata manager.
Yes, for houses and strata car spaces. We check the incoming supply and the spare capacity on the switchboard first, then plan a compliant cable route. Since May 2023 an EV charger circuit cannot rely on an older Type AC safety switch, so a Type A or Type B device is fitted and certified. In a strata building we also handle the metering and the owners corporation approval.
At minimum, working smoke alarms on every storey, replaced within ten years of manufacture, with hard-wired alarms installed or replaced by a licensed electrician, and faults repaired within two business days of being reported. Beyond the legal minimum, RCD protection on every circuit is the single most useful upgrade in a property where guests plug in unfamiliar appliances every week.
Yes. Federation and interwar homes on the Manly hill routinely still carry brittle rubber or cotton insulated wiring, two-pin outlets and ceramic fuses hidden behind later renovations. We insulation-test each circuit first so you are not paying to replace sound cable, then rewire and upgrade the switchboard in stages so the house stays liveable throughout.
NSW requires at least one working smoke alarm on every storey of a rented home. Landlords must repair or replace a faulty alarm within two business days of being told, hard-wired alarms must be worked on by a licensed electrician, and alarms must be replaced within ten years of the manufacture date. We handle installation, replacement, testing and the paperwork for owners and agents.
Yes, when we are already on site for a booked job. We look over the switchboard and safety switches, test smoke alarms, and check visible wiring and outdoor circuits for salt corrosion, which is the failure we see most here. You get a plain summary of what is fine, what to watch and what needs attention, with no obligation to book any of it.
Yes. Olympic Electrical has traded since 2017 under founder Spyro, with more than five licensed electricians, over 250 customers and 7,000 plus completed projects. We carry full public liability insurance, every electrician is licensed, and our workmanship is backed by a lifetime labour guarantee. Manufacturer warranties apply to the products we supply and install.
