Renting a tower apartment beside Rhodes Waterside, managing an office in Rhodes Corporate Park, or living in a riverfront house on Llewellyn Street? Our latest peninsula promotions also include Rider Boulevard and Brays Bay Reserve. Quote the promo on the phone and it lands on your invoice.

Rhodes is close to an all-apartment suburb. The 2021 Census found 95.1 per cent of dwellings were flats, 3.2 per cent separate houses and 1.5 per cent terraces, and 59.2 per cent of homes had two bedrooms. Towers west of the railway have gone up since about 2007 on remediated chemical sites, while a pocket of one and two storey houses survives east of Concord Road. We handle extra power points, lighting upgrades, appliance circuits and lot board faults in both.

Rhodes Corporate Park, built on the old Tulloch Phoenix Iron Works, holds offices for firms such as Citibank and Nestle, and Rider Boulevard hosts more commercial floors. Rhodes Waterside and Rhodes Central add large retail. We do office data cabling, tenancy lighting and power changes for these buildings.

Rhodes gets same-day service from us on both sides of the railway, from Rider Boulevard to the Cropley Street riverfront. Typical urgent faults: a lot board tripping in a high-rise, a dead induction cooktop circuit, or corridor lights failing on a residential floor.
With 59.2 per cent of Rhodes homes rented and most of them in towers, a lot of our calls come from property managers and owners who live elsewhere. They need fast answers on tripping boards, broken downlights and alarm compliance between leases. As a Rhodes electrician we also help owner occupiers add circuits for home offices, and we service shops and offices near the station.
East of Concord Road the work looks different: family houses near McIlwaine Park and King George V Park with older boards and outdoor lighting. When a building manager needs common area faults found, or a tenant has lost power to half a flat, our emergency electricians come from runs we already make across the Inner West and over the Ryde Bridge.

Flats account for 95.1 per cent of Rhodes dwellings. We find faults in compact lot boards, add circuits within strata rules, and separate owner problems from building ones before any repair starts.
Almost six in ten Rhodes homes are leased. Agents book us to swap hard-wired smoke alarms, test RCDs and supply dated records, often with the owner living overseas or interstate.
A small group of one and two storey houses sits near McIlwaine Park and the river. Many still carry older boards, so we upgrade them and add protection for outdoor and garden circuits.
Rhodes Corporate Park, Rider Boulevard and the two shopping centres bring large tenancies to the peninsula. We handle lighting, power, network cabling and changes as tenants move in or out.

Our licensed team knows the compact lot boards and shared risers in Rhodes towers built since 2007, and the older houses facing the river east of Concord Road.

An inspection comes first, then one written figure. A two bedroom flat off Walker Street and a freestanding house on Cropley Street are never lumped under the same price.

If half your high-rise flat loses power or a shop near Rhodes station goes dark, we rearrange the run sheet so a qualified electrician reaches you quickly.

Rhodes investors, strata managers and retail tenants make up a good share of our 250+ customers, and many reached us through building management referrals.

Any labour we perform in a Rhodes apartment, house or office is covered for life, including circuits hidden within tower walls and ceiling cavities.

Tell us the building name, your lot number and how the concierge or loading dock handles trades. We pick a slot that suits your tenant, your lease or your office hours.

Once we have seen your board and the job itself, you get a clear explanation and a written figure by email, ready to approve before any work in your flat begins.

Visitor parking in Rhodes towers is limited, so we arrange dock or basement access ahead and keep to the agreed window. If Concord Road banks up, we call you.

We clean up after ourselves, take all offcuts, and send the compliance certificate plus a short plain summary you can forward to your agent or strata manager.

Spyro launched the business in 2017, and more than five licensed electricians now drive our vans. Rhodes has become a regular stop because the peninsula mixes two very different jobs: dense apartment towers where strata rules and building access matter, and a small older neighbourhood of houses east of Concord Road. We also keep offices and shops near the station running. The person who quotes your Rhodes job sees it through to the end.

At 95.1 per cent, the flat share in Rhodes is more than four times the NSW figure of 21.7 per cent, and most blocks date from the redevelopment of former chemical land. That makes lot boards, risers and shared lighting our most requested work on the peninsula.

After every Rhodes job we issue a CCEW, the NSW certificate showing the work was tested and complies. Tower boards are usually modern, but tenants and past owners sometimes add circuits informally, so we check what is there before connecting anything new. AS/NZS 3000 calls for RCDs on final subcircuits once a board is altered or replaced, and Type AC devices have not been accepted in new installations since 1 May 2023.
Every Rhodes quote is a fixed figure set in writing before work begins. Guesses by phone miss the mark here: adding a downlight in a newer tower flat off Walker Street often uses existing ceiling cavities, while the same fitting in an older house on Llewellyn Street can involve a tight roof space and ageing cable. We look, then commit to a number.
Lot board tripping in a Rider Boulevard tower, an alarm deadline from your agent, or an office in Rhodes Corporate Park needing new data points? Call 02 8999 3691. A licensed electrician inspects in person, sets a firm written figure and guarantees the labour for life.
Rhodes apartment owners, investors, strata managers and office tenants bring us these questions most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Usually. We operate 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday, and Rhodes sits between the Concord and Ryde areas we cover daily. Phone 02 8999 3691 early and there is a good chance we reach you that day. A burning smell, a hot switch or power lost to half the flat moves you up our list.
We do not guess over the phone. A fault in a recent tower flat near Rhodes Waterside may be quick to trace, while a board upgrade in an older house on Cropley Street takes far more time. We come out and see the work first, and the written figure we agree stays put unless you widen the job.
Usually one safety switch has tripped because a single appliance or circuit is leaking current, often a kettle, dishwasher or outdoor balcony fitting exposed to rain. Resetting it repeatedly can hide a worsening fault. We test each circuit, isolate the cause and repair it, so the protection does its job without constant nuisance tripping.
It depends where it sits. Wiring from your own lot board generally belongs to you, while main switchboards, risers, corridors and car park lighting are usually common property. By-laws can vary this. With 95.1 per cent of Rhodes homes being flats, we trace these daily and give both the owner and strata manager a written finding.
Each level of the flat needs a functioning alarm. When your tenant flags a faulty one, NSW gives you two business days to sort it, and units past ten years from their stamped date are due for replacement. Mains-powered alarms are licensed electrician work only. Plenty of Rhodes owners live elsewhere, so we can deal with your agent directly, book smoke alarm testing and email dated records.
Often, if the owners corporation agrees. We assess spare capacity at the building supply, suggest how charging will be metered so you pay your own share, and run a dedicated circuit to your bay. Every tower has its own by-laws, so raise it with strata first. In the houses east of Concord Road a garage or carport charger is usually simpler.
Yes, with some planning. Concrete slabs limit where cable can run, so we use existing ceiling cavities, bulkheads and wall frames, and use surface channels only where you agree. Popular jobs include extra power points for home offices, pendant lights over dining tables and new downlights. We check strata rules on penetrations first.
We do. The corporate park and Rider Boulevard hold large office tenancies. We install data cabling, relocate power to suit new desk layouts, replace tenancy lighting and fit exit and emergency lights. Shutdown work is booked outside business hours, and we coordinate with building management over access and fire system isolations.
They can. Houses on Cropley and Llewellyn Streets face the Parramatta River, and outdoor fittings there deal with damp air and weather. We use weatherproof enclosures, check garden and deck circuits for RCD cover and replace corroded fittings. We also add outdoor lighting and power for entertaining areas, all rated for exposed positions.
All of Rhodes 2138, from Rhodes Waterside, Rhodes Central, Rider Boulevard and Walker Street to Blaxland Road, Oulton Avenue, Cropley Street, Llewellyn Street and the parks around Brays Bay. We also work in Concord West, Liberty Grove, Wentworth Point, North Strathfield, Ryde, Concord, Newington and the rest of the Inner West.
