Living near the Frederick Street shops, the Mulga Road strip in Oatley West, the Pleasure Grounds on Annette Street or the Oatley Park foreshore? Our current Oatley deals apply right across 2223. Mention this offer when you book and it comes off your bill.

Oatley is a suburb of family houses on the Georges River. The 2021 Census recorded 70.8 per cent separate houses, 44.5 per cent of homes with four or more bedrooms and 45.2 per cent owned outright, well above the 31.5 per cent state figure. Subdivision began once the railway arrived in the 1880s, and the housing has been added to and rebuilt ever since. We do whole-house rewires, extensions, kitchen circuits and garden lighting down to the bays.

Oatley is now almost entirely residential. Its commercial work centres on the shops along Oatley Avenue and Frederick Street by the station and the Oatley West strip on Mulga Road. We maintain lighting, add outlets, run signage circuits and keep cafes, clinics and small offices compliant.

Oatley gets same-day service from us, from Oatley Point down to Lime Kiln Bay. Urgent calls here tend to be storm-related: water in outdoor fittings, a garden circuit that keeps tripping, surge-damaged appliances, or half a large home dark after an old fuse gives up.
Owners make up most of our Oatley clients, many of them long-term residents in big homes, plus families renovating houses they bought near the bays. Typical jobs include replacing old fuse boards, adding circuits for new kitchens and granny flats, rewiring upstairs extensions and fitting lights for decks that face Oatley Bay or Gungah Bay. As a trusted Oatley electrician we also look after the Frederick Street shops and the Mulga Road strip.
The bushland here shapes the work. Oatley Park, the Pleasure Grounds and Lime Kiln Bay Bushland Sanctuary put mature trees close to many backyards, so storms bring flooded garden lights, tripping outdoor circuits and surge-hit electronics. We also prepare garages for EV chargers, since households here average close to two cars. When an electrical emergency hits during a storm, our crew responds from the Georges River foreshore to Hurstville Road and across St George and Canterbury-Bankstown.

Oatley fronts Oatley Bay, Gungah Bay, Neverfail Bay and Jewfish Bay. Salt air corrodes outdoor fittings, so we choose sealed, weather-rated products for jetties, decks and garden lighting near the water.
Oatley Park covers about 45 hectares of bushland, and tall trees line many streets. After storms we fix water-damaged outdoor circuits, test RCDs and add surge protection for home offices and entertainment gear.
Four or more bedrooms appear in 44.5 per cent of Oatley homes. Extensions often leave old and new circuits mixed together, so we test, relabel boards and upgrade switchboards to handle heavier modern loads.
Cafes, clinics and services cluster on Oatley Avenue, Frederick Street and Mulga Road. We maintain shop lighting, add power for new tenants and schedule shutdowns before opening so trading continues normally.

Our licensed electricians know Oatley homes from the Griffiths-era streets east of the railway to the Oatley West side, including how extensions have been bolted onto older wiring over the decades.

We see the house before naming a figure, then commit to it in writing. A modest Oatley West cottage and a large waterfront home near Neverfail Bay each get their own price.

After a southerly storm tears through the trees around Oatley Park, we reshuffle bookings so flooded garden fittings and dead circuits in local homes get attention the same day.

Among our 250+ customers are many Oatley families and retirees, and plenty of new bookings come from neighbours along the same bay or the same school pick-up line.

Every job we complete in Oatley carries a lifetime guarantee on our labour, from a single deck light facing Gungah Bay to a full rewire of a two-storey family home.

Pick a morning or afternoon that suits your household, and let us know about steep driveways, locked side gates or dogs so the electrician arrives ready for your Oatley block.

Once we have walked through the house, inspected the board and checked the roof space, we send a fixed figure in writing so you can decide without any pressure.

Oatley roads wind around the bays, so we plan routes carefully and turn up in the agreed window. If a train crossing or school traffic delays us, we phone first.

We protect floors and garden beds while we work, clear every offcut, test all circuits and leave the compliance certificate with a short summary of what we did.

Since Spyro opened the doors in 2017, the crew has expanded to five-plus licensed electricians. Oatley suits us well: generous family homes, mature gardens, and owners who plan improvements carefully rather than rushing. We handle board upgrades in older houses, lighting for decks and gardens, EV charger installs in double garages and repairs after heavy weather. Whichever electrician quotes your Oatley job stays with it until the final test.

Oatley households averaged 1.9 vehicles per dwelling in 2021, and detached houses make up 70.8 per cent of dwellings. Where a house has its own parking, home charging is practical, and it is a job we quote often in 2223.

Each Oatley visit closes with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, as NSW rules demand. Plenty of local houses have been extended in stages, so we often find new circuits connected to old cable. Under AS/NZS 3000, any board replacement or alteration must add RCD protection to every final subcircuit, and Type AC switches have been banned from new installations since 1 May 2023. Outdoor circuits near the bays get weatherproof fittings.
We quote Oatley jobs after an inspection and confirm one fixed figure in writing. Adding a light in a single-storey Oatley West house can be quick, while running cable in a two-storey home on a steep bayside block may mean long roof runs and difficult sub-floor access. Seeing the property first means the figure matches the real effort, and nothing changes without your approval.
Old fuse board in a Letitia Street home, storm-damaged garden lights near Gungah Bay, or an EV charger for the double garage? Call 02 8999 3691 to arrange an inspection. We will give you a written fixed figure and guarantee our labour for life.
Oatley homeowners, families renovating near the bays and local shop owners ask us these questions most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Usually. Weekday bookings run 7am to 5:30pm, Saturdays 7am to 2pm, and our vans cross the St George district every working day. Call 02 8999 3691 in the morning and we can often visit Oatley that afternoon. Tell us about burning smells, sparks or a main switch that trips instantly so we can put you first.
It depends on the house, so we inspect first. Oatley has everything from compact cottages to large two-storey homes on steep bayside blocks, and roof access or slab floors can change the effort a lot. After the visit you receive one written fixed figure, which stays the same unless you ask for additional work.
It is a good idea. Many Oatley homes have grown with rear additions, second storeys and converted garages, so older and newer circuits often share one board. We test insulation, check earthing, confirm every circuit has safety switch protection and label the board accurately. You get a written list of anything unsafe, with a fixed quote to fix it.
Water getting into fittings is the usual cause. Oatley has thick tree cover around Oatley Park and the bays, and heavy rain finds its way into old garden lights and outdoor sockets. We replace damaged fittings with weather-rated ones, reseal junction boxes and check the RCD is working. If a branch has brought down the line to your house, keep well clear and report it to Ausgrid on 13 13 88.
Yes, on the private side of your property. Homes along Oatley Bay, Gungah Bay and Neverfail Bay often want deck lighting, outdoor power and pump circuits. We use marine-grade, weather-rated fittings, protect every circuit with an RCD and plan cable paths down steep slopes. Any work below the waterline or on public land needs separate approval.
We can. With many large Oatley blocks, secondary dwellings are common. We check whether your main supply and switchboard can take the extra load, run a submain to a new board in the granny flat, and fit lights, power points and smoke alarms. We coordinate with your builder so the timing works.
Regularly. Summer heat and high ceilings make ceiling fans popular here, and many owners replace old fluorescent battens with LED downlights. We check the ceiling framing, ensure insulation clearances are met and use existing cable paths wherever possible to limit patching.
Yes. The Oatley Avenue and Frederick Street shops near the station and the Mulga Road strip in Oatley West have cafes, medical rooms and services that need reliable power. We handle shop electrical maintenance, new lighting, extra outlets and tenancy changes, and we book disruptive work before opening time.
We cover all of Oatley 2223, including Frederick Street, Oatley Avenue, Mulga Road, Letitia Street, Rosa Street, Wyong Street, Annette Street, Oatley West and the streets around Oatley Park, Neverfail Bay and Gungah Bay. We also work in Hurstville Grove, Peakhurst, Penshurst, South Hurstville, Blakehurst, Kogarah, and across the river in Como and Illawong.
Often, yes. Short outages during storms can leave hard-wired smoke alarms chirping, backup batteries flat or alarm panels showing faults. We test each smoke alarm, replace any unit older than ten years, and check whether alarms are interconnected so one sounding sets off the others.
