Whether your place backs onto Georges River National Park, overlooks Lime Kiln Bay or sits a short walk from Gannons Park and HV Evatt Park, our seasonal Lugarno specials apply. Households along Forest Road and Woodlands Avenue qualify too. Bring up the offer when booking and we will honour it.

Lugarno opened up for home sites in the 1960s, and its housing still reflects that release. The 2021 Census counted 93.0 per cent separate houses against the state’s 65.6, with 60.5 per cent of homes holding four or more bedrooms. Many of those 1960s brick houses have since gained upper floors, rumpus rooms and pools, while the original switchboards and wiring stayed put. We carry out switchboard replacements, extend circuits into renovated wings and clear up the patchwork of DIY additions that decades of ownership leave behind.

Lugarno is overwhelmingly residential, with no large business district. Our non-domestic work here comes from sporting clubrooms at Gannons Park and HV Evatt Park, church halls such as St Stephens Anglican, the marina precinct on the river and residents running businesses from home, where we add lighting, outlets and fault repairs.

Lugarno’s leafy streets are on our regular St George circuit, so same-day service is normally possible. Urgent calls here tend to be storm-related: water in an outdoor fitting on a bushland block, a main switch that will not reset, or a garage sub-board that has burnt out.
Most people who call us from Lugarno own their homes and plan to stay. The Census shows 47.4 per cent owned outright and a median age of 45, and the typical house sits on a generous block between Salt Pan Creek and Lime Kiln Bay. That profile drives a steady list of jobs: upgrading the original switchboard, adding lights and fans to a new upstairs level, powering pool equipment and wiring sheds at the bottom of sloping yards. As the Lugarno electrician for many of those families, we get to know each property’s quirks.
We also work for clubs using Gannons Park and HV Evatt Park, and for residents near the Lugarno Marina boardwalk. When something fails badly, an emergency callout from our team working across St George and Canterbury-Bankstown can usually be arranged that day.

Much of Lugarno was built after land was released in the 1960s. Those houses often keep original cable and fuse boards, which we test, replace where needed and bring up to current protection.
Blocks backing onto Georges River National Park and Lime Kiln Bay cop falling branches and heavy rain. We repair storm-damaged outdoor fittings and seal new ones against water.
With 60.5 per cent of homes now four bedrooms or more, many have grown upward. We wire new floors, add sub-boards and make sure the original supply can carry the extra load.
Generous backyards here hold pools, workshops and garages. We run correctly sized circuits with RCD protection so pumps, heaters and power tools each have their own supply.

Our licensed electricians know the 1960s brick homes along Forest Road and Boatwright Avenue, including where builders of that era ran cable and how later owners added to it.

We quote after seeing the job, in writing and as one fixed amount. A single-storey home on Lime Kiln Road and a two-level rebuild on Woodlands Avenue get separate prices.

Storm damage on a bushland block or a board that will not reset gets moved up our list, and we send someone down Forest Road as soon as we can.

Our 250+ customers include Lugarno owners who have lived here since the land release, young families in extended houses, and clubs based at Gannons Park.

We guarantee the labour on every Lugarno job for life, whether it is a new outdoor light near the national park or a complete switchboard change.

Tell us your street and whether your block slopes toward the river or the bush, and we will book a time that suits, often within the same week.

We test the board, check the existing wiring and explain what we found, then give you a single fixed price in writing before starting anything.

Lugarno’s quiet streets make parking simple, and we turn up in the window we gave you. If traffic on Forest Road holds us up, we let you know.

We tidy each room, remove every offcut, hand over the compliance certificate and point out anything else in your older wiring worth planning for.

Lugarno was developed mainly as housing after land was released in the 1960s, and 93.0 per cent of its dwellings are separate houses. Many still run on boards from that period, now asked to supply pools, ducted air and large extensions they were never designed for.

When we finish in Lugarno, you receive a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, or CCEW, as NSW law requires for installation work. In a 1960s house that has been extended over the decades, we test the circuits we connect into and write down any older wiring that should be looked at. AS/NZS 3000 requires RCD protection on final subcircuits once a switchboard is replaced or altered, and Type AC units have not been allowed in new work since 1 May 2023.
We never guess a Lugarno price over the phone. Swapping lights in a single-level brick home on Lugarno Parade might take a few hours, while wiring a new upper floor on a sloping block near the national park means long cable runs and a possible board upgrade. We inspect first, then give a fixed written price that only moves if you ask for more.
A 1960s fuse board in a Forest Road house, lights to add in a new upstairs extension, or a storm-damaged outdoor fitting near the national park? Call 02 8999 3691. A licensed electrician will inspect it in person, set out a firm written price and back the labour for life.
Lugarno homeowners, families extending their houses and local sporting clubs ask us these most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often, yes. We work 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday, and Lugarno sits on the St George routes our vans drive daily. If you call 02 8999 3691 in the morning we can usually get to you that afternoon. Burning smells, sparking or a complete loss of power take priority over routine work.
By seeing it first. Lugarno homes range from original single-storey brick houses to large two-level rebuilds, and the same request can take very different time in each. After testing the board and checking access, we write down one fixed amount. It stays that way unless you ask us to add to the job.
It depends on how it has been treated. Much of Lugarno was built after the 1960s land release, and wiring of that age is often sound in places but let down by old fuse boards, missing RCDs, heat-damaged connections in roof spaces and later DIY additions. We test insulation and earthing on each circuit, tell you which parts are fine and quote only what needs replacing.
Keep clear of any wet or broken light, socket or cable, and switch off at the main if it is safe to reach. Lugarno blocks beside bushland often lose fittings to falling branches or water entry in heavy rain. We isolate the damaged circuit, replace fittings with sealed ones and test the rest. Fallen lines in the street belong to Ausgrid, on 13 13 88.
Yes. Lugarno’s large blocks and 3.8 bedrooms per dwelling on average mean many families add a studio, rumpus room or secondary dwelling. We work out whether your existing supply can carry the extra load, run a submain to a separate board in the new building and wire lighting, power and air conditioning to suit, then certify it.
We do this often in Lugarno. Pool pumps, heaters and spa blowers need their own circuits, isolators and RCD protection, and a workshop shed needs enough capacity for saws and compressors. Where cable must cross a sloping yard, we bury it in conduit at the correct depth or run it along fences, keeping it away from garden beds and mowers.
Most Lugarno homes can. The suburb averages 2.3 vehicles per dwelling and nearly every house has a garage or driveway. We check spare capacity on your board, run a dedicated circuit and mount the charger close to where you park. On older boards we may suggest an upgrade at the same time so the charger has proper protection.
Yes. New upper levels and rear additions in Lugarno often have raked ceilings and large living spaces. We fit ceiling fans on their own switched circuits, lay out LED downlights for even light and check roof insulation clearances. Doing this at frame stage saves cutting plaster later, so we like to coordinate with your builder early.
We do. Sporting clubrooms at Gannons Park and HV Evatt Park, church halls and community spaces need reliable lighting, kitchen circuits and exit and emergency light testing. We fit LED upgrades, find faults when canteen equipment trips and schedule work around training nights and game days so the facilities stay usable.
All of Lugarno 2210, including Forest Road, Old Forest Road, Lugarno Parade, Lime Kiln Road, Woodlands Avenue, Boatwright Avenue and the homes near Gannons Park, HV Evatt Park, CF Williams Reserve, Taylors Reserve and the marina.
