Own a house near Padstow Park, rent out a townhouse off Cahors Road or trade from a Howard Road shopfront? Our limited-time Padstow specials also stretch to streets around Playford Park and the Iberia Street bowling greens. Bring up the offer as you book and we will apply it.

Padstow filled out after its station opened in December 1931, and much faster once the Second World War ended, so a large share of homes are brick or fibro builds from the 1940s through the 1960s. The 2021 Census found 67.6 per cent separate houses and 26.0 per cent semi-detached homes or townhouses, more than double the NSW share of 11.7. Around Cairo Avenue, Pyramid Avenue and the other Egyptian-named streets near the station we replace worn original wiring, add circuits for rebuilt kitchens and wire new duplex halves and backyard flats.

Light industrial premises cluster at the northern end of Padstow where the M5 crosses, and the retail strip wraps around Howard Road and Padstow Parade, with more shops on Cahors Road past Memorial Drive. We handle commercial electrical work for these tenants, from three-phase outlets in workshops to LED refits in warehouses and extra circuits for takeaway kitchens.

Our vans offer same-day service across Padstow when a fault will not wait for next week. Typical urgent jobs here include an old ceramic fuse that keeps blowing in a 1950s cottage, a workshop compressor near the M5 knocking out a three-phase circuit, and a townhouse with a storm-soaked outdoor light.
The 2021 Census split Padstow tenure almost evenly, with 32.1 per cent owned outright, 32.7 per cent mortgaged and 32.4 per cent rented. That mix shapes our week: long-time owners in post-war bungalows want tired boards replaced, young families extending want power for new kitchens and living rooms, and property managers want alarm records sorted between tenants. As your Padstow electrician we also take the odd urgent fault call when an elderly circuit finally quits.
Each corner of 2211 brings different work. The space-themed streets on the Revesby side, such as Uranus Road, Mars Street and Vega Street, keep us busy with extensions to original homes, while near Salt Pan Creek and Cutting Reserve owners ask for garden lighting and outdoor power. Up at the M5 end we look after factory units and trade premises, and the same crew covers the rest of St George and Canterbury-Bankstown.

Padstow grew fast after the 1931 railway and again after the war. Homes of that age can still hide rubber-insulated cable and porcelain fuses, which we test, then replace with modern circuits and sound earthing.
Some 26 per cent of Padstow dwellings are semi-detached or townhouses. We work out which faults sit with each owner and which belong to shared driveways, common lights or the meter panel.
With 32.4 per cent of homes leased, agents call us between tenants to swap alarms past their ten-year date, install hard-wired smoke alarms and leave dated records for the landlord's file.
The northern end of Padstow, where the motorway crosses, holds light industrial sites. We fit three-phase outlets, replace high-bay lights and track down nuisance tripping on compressors, saws and welders.

From post-war cottages near Playford Park to newer townhouses by the station, our licensed team has pulled apart many Padstow boards and knows how each building era was wired.

Padstow customers never get a phone guess. A Cahors Road shop and a four-bedroom house off Davies Road each get inspected first, then priced with one fixed written figure.

A hot, buzzing board or a dead kitchen circuit in Padstow takes priority over routine bookings that day, and we ring back promptly with an honest arrival time.

Our 250+ customers include Padstow landlords, retirees and young families, and many of them came to us through a neighbour’s recommendation around the station shops.

Every circuit we put into a Padstow home or factory unit has its labour guaranteed for life, from one extra power point to a complete rewire of a 1950s house.

Call us with your street, and say if parking is easier in the driveway or on the kerb. We then suggest a slot that works around school runs to Padstow Park Public School.

An electrician checks the board and the job itself, talks you through the options in plain language, and sends a fixed written quote before any cable is touched.

We show up inside the arrival window we agreed. When M5 traffic or the Davies Road lights slow us down, you get a phone call well before the slot passes.

Offcuts, dust and packaging leave in our van, new circuits are labelled at the board, and you receive the compliance certificate plus a short note of what we changed.

Back in 2017 Spyro started out on his own; today five-plus licensed electricians work alongside him, with Padstow firmly on the weekly run between Bankstown and the Georges River. Our days here are a mix of switchboard changeovers in post-war homes, lighting for renovated kitchens, smoke alarm rounds for agents with rentals near the station and maintenance calls for small firms at the M5 end. One crew stays on your job from the first look to the final sign-off.

Most Padstow housing went up after the 1931 railway and the post-war building boom, and 67.6 per cent of dwellings are still separate houses. Boards from that period were sized for a few lights and a fridge, not induction cooktops, ducted air and car charging.

Every Padstow job finishes with a CCEW, the compliance certificate you will want on file when selling or leasing. Houses from the 1950s and 1960s often carry later handyman additions, so whatever we disturb is tested and either fixed or noted in writing. Swapping a board here means each final subcircuit gains RCD cover to satisfy AS/NZS 3000, and we skip Type AC units entirely because the rules stopped them in fresh work from 1 May 2023.
You receive a fixed written price after we have seen the work, never a figure pulled from a phone call. Padstow shows why. Adding lights to a recent townhouse near Padstow Parade with an easy roof space can be quick, while the same fittings in a low-pitched post-war fibro cottage mean crawling through a cramped ceiling and checking old cable first. We quote on what we actually find.
Worn fuse board in a Sphinx Avenue house, an agent asking for smoke alarm records, or a factory unit near the M5 short of power points? Ring 02 8999 3691 and a licensed electrician will visit your Padstow property, inspect it properly and put a fixed figure in writing, with labour guaranteed for life.
Padstow homeowners, landlords, townhouse owners and small business operators put these questions to us most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often, yes. We work Monday to Friday from 7am to 5:30pm and Saturdays from 7am to 2pm, and Padstow sits on routes our vans cover all week. Ringing 02 8999 3691 early in the day gives us the best chance of reaching you before we knock off. Let us know straight away about scorch marks, a burning smell or a main switch that will not reset, as those are handled first.
We quote once we have looked at the job. Two Padstow requests that sound identical can differ a lot: running a new circuit in a townhouse with a modern board is straightforward, whereas doing it in a 1950s brick home with old cable and a tight roof means more testing and more hours. After the inspection you get one fixed price in writing, and it only changes if you add to the work.
Not always, but it needs checking. Padstow grew quickly after the railway opened in 1931 and again after 1945, and wiring from that time can include rubber-insulated cable that crumbles when disturbed, ceramic fuses and patchy earthing. We test insulation and earth continuity, tell you which circuits are fine and which are worn out, and quote a staged rewire if the whole house does not need doing at once.
Driveway lighting, shared meter panels and common-area power usually belong to the owners corporation, while the wiring from your own board into your rooms sits with you. With about a quarter of Padstow dwellings being semis or townhouses, this question comes up often. We locate the fault, then give you and the strata manager a written finding so the right party arranges the repair.
The rules cover four things: an alarm on every level of the home, repairs within two business days once your tenant flags a fault, fresh alarms before the ten-year mark from manufacture, and a licensed electrician for any hard-wired unit. Close to a third of Padstow homes are rented, so we regularly run smoke alarm testing for agents between leases and supply dated records.
Yes. When an older Padstow block is rebuilt as a duplex or gains a backyard studio, the new dwelling needs its own protected circuits and a board sized for air conditioning, cooking and hot water. We work from the builder’s plans, rough in during framing, fit off after plastering and provide the compliance paperwork. Any new supply connection from the street is arranged through an accredited service provider, not us.
Padstow averages 1.7 vehicles per dwelling, and most houses have a driveway or garage, so charging at home is usually practical. We check spare capacity at the board and the main switch, run a dedicated circuit to the parking spot and mount the charger. If the old board has no room, we may suggest an upgrade first so the charger has proper protection.
We do. The northern end of Padstow along the motorway holds light industrial premises, and owners call us for three-phase outlets, replacement lighting in high ceilings, dedicated circuits for machinery and fault finding when a breaker trips under load. We book noisy or shutdown work around your production hours and label everything so staff can isolate equipment safely.
Yes. The Padstow shopping strip runs along Howard Road and Padstow Parade, with more stores on Cahors Road north of the line. For a new tenancy we plan power for counters, cool rooms and signage, install LED lighting, fit exit and emergency lights where needed, and schedule the work so neighbouring traders are not disrupted.
It can. Salt Pan Creek forms the eastern edge of Padstow and its catchment is known to flood after heavy rain. For low-lying homes near Cutting Reserve we keep outdoor outlets and garden lighting on safety switches, choose weatherproof fittings and mount equipment above likely water levels. If water has reached any wiring or outlets, leave the power off and have us test it before switching back on.
All of Padstow 2211, including the station shops, Howard Road, Padstow Parade, Cahors Road, Davies Road, the Egyptian-named streets, Uranus Road and the space streets, Playford Park, Padstow Park, Stuart Street Reserve and Cutting Reserve. We also work daily in Revesby, Padstow Heights, Riverwood, Bankstown, Condell Park, Peakhurst, Punchbowl, Panania and Milperra.
