Hiring a tinnie at The Boatshed, living on Thames Street or walking the dog through Prince Edward Park? Our current Woronora offers also stretch to River Road, the Menai Road side and the Yanko Close and Manilla Place end. Quote the offer when you ring and we take it off your job.

Woronora is a river valley of family homes. The 2021 Census recorded 735 private dwellings, 95.3 per cent separate houses and not one flat, with 55.8 per cent holding four or more bedrooms. Houses line both banks of the Woronora River, and some on the eastern side can only be reached by a walking track or by boat. So we plan switchboard work, outdoor lighting and circuits to garages and outbuildings around awkward access and damp riverside air.

Business in Woronora is small and centred on the river: the village centre with its general store, cafe and bottle shop, The Boatshed at Woronora, the RSL club, the caravan park and the primary school. We look after commercial electrical repairs, kitchen circuits, signage and lighting, and planned maintenance for these operators.

Woronora gets our same-day service despite having a single road in and out. Urgent calls here usually involve water or weather: outdoor outlets swamped after heavy rain, a safety switch tripping as damp air settles on fittings, or storm-felled branches damaging the connection to a house, where the network side goes to Ausgrid.
Woronora residents mostly own for the long term: 43.0 per cent of homes were owned outright and 44.6 per cent carried a mortgage in 2021, with just 9.5 per cent rented. Our jobs follow that pattern: kitchens and bathrooms being remodelled, renovation wiring for extensions, extra outlets for home offices and lighting along garden paths towards the water. As your Woronora electrician, we also help the small operators in the village.
The valley is ringed by bushland, the river is tidal at this point, and releases from Woronora Dam upstream can change the water level. Our electricians plan for all of that, carrying the right gear for homes where the van cannot pull up at the door. When a fault needs an emergency callout, we head down into the valley from our work across the Sutherland Shire.

Houses line both banks of the tidal Woronora River. We fit sealed outdoor fittings, keep external circuits behind safety switch protection and check for moisture tracking into boxes and junctions.
The suburb is completely ringed by bush with a single road access. We check outdoor cabling, secure exposed runs and install interconnected smoke alarms so a warning carries through the whole house.
More than half of Woronora homes have four or more bedrooms, and the suburb averages 3.7. We add circuits for extra living areas, home offices and air conditioning without overloading older boards.
Some east-bank houses beyond Prince Edward Park Road can only be reached on foot or by water. We plan materials, lighter tools and a sensible sequence so the job finishes in as few trips as possible.

Our licensed electricians plan around Woronora’s quirks, including riverbank houses where every tool, reel of cable and new board must be carried in along a walking track.

We price after seeing the site. A Thames Street house with kerbside parking and a track-access home past Prince Edward Park Road differ greatly, so each gets its own written fixed figure.

With one road into the valley, we tell you honestly when we can arrive, and a flooded outlet or a board that will not reset gets priority on the day’s run.

Our 250+ customers include long-term owners on both banks of the Woronora, along with neighbours up the hill in Bonnet Bay, Jannali and Sutherland.

Labour on everything we install in a Woronora home is guaranteed for life, which matters when you own a house in the valley and intend to stay for decades.

Tell us which bank you are on, whether the house has road frontage or track access, and where we can park. We then book a time that suits your household.

After inspecting the board and the run the cable must take, we send a written fixed price. For track-access homes, that price already includes carrying materials in and out.

Prince Edward Park Road and River Road are narrow in places, so we allow extra time and arrive inside the agreed window. If the valley road is held up, we call.

Nothing gets left on the riverbank. Offcuts, packaging and old fittings come back up with us, and you receive your compliance certificate and a clear note of the work.

Local pockets we cover in Woronora
Nearby suburbs we also serve

Spyro launched the business in 2017, and our five-plus licensed electricians now work right across the Shire, down into the Woronora valley included. Few suburbs test planning like this one: a single road, homes reached on foot or by boat, tidal water and bush on every side. We enjoy that challenge, and the crew that quotes your riverside job stays with it until the last fitting is tested.

Every Woronora dwelling sits in a bushland valley beside a tidal river whose level can shift with releases from Woronora Dam. Damp air, storms and fire risk all test outdoor wiring here, so a thorough safety inspection is the service we suggest to Woronora owners more than any other.

A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work goes to every Woronora customer, as NSW law demands. Riverside homes see more moisture than most, so any outdoor circuit we touch is also checked for water entry and damaged insulation. Should we replace or alter a switchboard, AS/NZS 3000 calls for RCD protection across all final subcircuits, and Type AC units have not been allowed in new work since 1 May 2023.
Every Woronora quote is a fixed amount confirmed in writing after we look at the job. Access varies here more than in most of the Shire: a house on The Crescent with the van parked out front is straightforward, while a home on the east bank past the end of Prince Edward Park Road may mean carrying materials along a track. Seeing it first keeps the price honest.
Safety switch tripping when the river air turns damp, an old board in a Mersey Street home, or wiring for a kitchen remodel? Call 02 8999 3691. We will inspect, confirm a firm written price and back the labour for life, on either bank of the Woronora.
Woronora owners on both riverbanks, and the small businesses in the village, ask us these questions most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Very often. Our working hours are 7am to 5:30pm from Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm on Saturday, and Sunday is closed. Woronora sits between Sutherland and Menai, both regular stops for us, so calling 02 8999 3691 in the morning usually secures a visit that day. If the house has track-only access, say so, and mention any burning smell or tripping main immediately.
We give no figures until we have seen the work, because access and conditions change the effort so much here. A home with road frontage and an easy roof space is simple; a track-access property, or a house with long outdoor runs towards the river, takes longer. After inspecting we explain the scope and commit to a fixed written price.
They can affect low-lying outdoor gear. The Woronora River is tidal here, and water released from Woronora Dam upstream can change its level. Outlets and garden lights close to the water should sit on RCD-protected circuits, use sealed fittings and be mounted as high as practical. If water has reached electrical equipment, keep clear, switch off at the board if that is safe, and call us before using it again.
Woronora is ringed by bushland with a single road out, so early warning counts. We install interconnected hard-wired smoke alarms so every bedroom hears an alert, replace brittle or cracked outdoor fittings and secure loose external cable under eaves and decks. The Woronora Rural Fire Brigade looks after the fire side; our job is making sure your own wiring never adds to the hazard.
Yes. Some houses on the eastern bank beyond the end of Prince Edward Park Road can only be reached by walking track or by boat. We plan these jobs carefully, confirming materials in advance, bringing lighter kit and sequencing the work to avoid repeat trips. Tell us about any path or tide conditions and we fold the carry-in time into your fixed price.
Sometimes not. More than half the homes here have four or more bedrooms, and households average 2.9 people. Houses that have been extended over the years often end up with new circuits squeezed onto a board never designed for them. We check the load, look for heat damage and missing RCDs, and recommend an upgrade only where capacity or safety genuinely calls for it.
We can. The Census counted 2.3 vehicles per Woronora dwelling, and on a valley road with no nearby public chargers, home charging is the practical option. We assess spare capacity at your board, run a dedicated circuit to the garage or carport and position the unit so the lead reaches the car comfortably. If the board needs work first, we explain why and include it in the quote.
Yes. We rough in circuits before the cabinetry arrives, then return for the fit-off, including appliance installation for ovens, cooktops and rangehoods, plus LED downlights and under-cabinet lighting. Plenty of Woronora owners renovate rather than move, so we are used to working alongside builders and joiners while keeping the rest of the house powered.
We do. The general store, cafe, bottle shop, riverside restaurant, RSL club and caravan park all depend on power that stays on. We repair faults, add circuits for kitchen equipment, update lighting and signage and fit exit and emergency lights. Work that would interrupt trade is scheduled for quieter times, so customers barely notice we have been.
Each of our electricians is licensed in NSW and insured. Spyro has run the business since 2017, and the team has grown to five-plus electricians working throughout the Sutherland Shire. Every job comes with a compliance certificate, and the labour on anything we install is guaranteed for life, whichever bank of the river you live on.
