Freestanding homes dominate 2035. The 2021 Census counted 75.6 per cent separate houses, well above the 65.6 per cent NSW figure, and 39.6 per cent of dwellings have four or more bedrooms. Private building began with the Monash Gardens estate in 1919, so interwar California bungalows such as those in Towner Gardens still line quiet streets, beside later brick homes and a modest share of townhouses. Typical requests: replacing tired interwar cabling, circuits for rear extensions, and moving an old porch meter board.

Pagewood has always blended homes with industry. National Studios made films here from 1935, and General Motors Holden built cars on Wentworth Avenue land until 1981. Today the pub, shops, clubs and nearby warehouses need practical commercial electrical care: lighting repairs, new circuits for equipment and fault tracing in older buildings.

Our same-day service covers Pagewood from Wentworth Avenue down to Dudley Street. Typical urgent calls: a bungalow where rain has crept into an ageing porch board, a family home losing a whole circuit to a failed oven element, or a garage workshop tripping the main switch again and again.
Families make up most of our Pagewood customer list. Almost three in four homes here are owned outright or carry a mortgage, so people tend to invest in the house for the long haul: second bathrooms, knocked-through kitchens, air conditioning for upstairs bedrooms and outdoor lighting over the back deck. As your Pagewood electrician we also look after landlords renting out the older cottages, and the church halls and sports clubs around the suburb.
Streets north of Page Street keep the curved layouts first drawn for the Daceyville garden suburb, and many houses there date from the 1920s and 1930s. Down around Dudley Street the mix is newer. Blown fuses in an original bungalow, a scorched plug behind a fridge, or an urgent power fault before a weekend barbecue all fit our daily rounds across the Eastern Suburbs.

Homes from the 1920s and 1930s estates often hide rubber or cloth-coated cable under timber floors. We swap it for modern TPS, add earths and keep leadlight, picture rails and front verandahs intact.
Four in ten dwellings here have four bedrooms or more. When families add upstairs rooms or a rear living area, we plan new circuits, LED downlights and power so the existing board is not overloaded.
About 11.7 per cent of Pagewood dwellings are townhouses or semis. We fix faults inside each lot and work with owners corporations on shared driveways, meter panels and common lighting.
With factories and depots historically part of the suburb, local business owners call us for three-phase outlets, machine isolators, high-bay lighting and fault finding in older sheds and warehouse units.

Our licensed crew understands interwar Pagewood construction, from brick bungalow cavities to the timber-floored subfloors where original cable often still runs, and we work through it without tearing up finished rooms.

A Park Parade bungalow and a newer Dudley Street townhouse rarely need the same work, so each gets its own inspection and a single agreed figure in writing before anything starts.

Sparks at a powerpoint or a board that will not reset in a Pagewood family home gets priority, and we tell you straight away roughly when a van can reach you.

Pagewood owners, landlords and local clubs sit among our 250+ customers, and plenty of new bookings arrive because a neighbour near Jellicoe Park passed our number along.

Circuits we install in a Pagewood extension or bungalow rewire carry a lifetime guarantee on our labour, so if our workmanship ever fails, we return and fix it.

Ring or message us with your street and a short description. Most Pagewood driveways fit a van easily, but tell us about side gates, dogs or school pickup times.

We open the board, test the circuits involved, then explain the options in everyday language. You receive one written figure and decide in your own time.

Pagewood sits a few minutes off Wentworth Avenue from our regular routes, so we keep to the booked window, and if a job runs long we phone ahead.

Before leaving we vacuum roof-access dust, test every circuit touched, take the offcuts away and hand over your compliance paperwork with a plain summary.

Spyro started the business in 2017 and it has grown into a team of five-plus licensed electricians who work around Pagewood most weeks. The suburb keeps us busy with long-owned family homes: bungalows from the Monash Gardens era being opened up, larger brick houses gaining a second storey, and older boards that finally need retiring. The same small crew handles the call, the quote and the work, and we stay accountable long after the job.

Pagewood was developed privately from 1919, and 75.6 per cent of its dwellings are separate houses, many still running boards installed decades ago. As kitchens, air conditioners and home offices get added, those old panels are the thing we replace most often in 2035.

Every job we finish in Pagewood is followed by a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, as NSW requires. Many homes here were wired in the interwar years and patched since, so if our work uncovers perished insulation or missing earths we record it and tell you. Board changes bring AS/NZS 3000 residual current protection onto final subcircuits, and since 1 May 2023 no new installation may use Type AC devices.
Pagewood jobs are priced on site, then locked in writing. Two homes a street apart can differ a lot: adding outlets to a 1990s brick townhouse with open wall cavities is fairly quick, while the same request in a 1920s bungalow with lath ceilings and low subfloor clearance takes more time and care. We look first, then commit to one figure that holds unless you change the scope.
Fuses still on the porch of your Towner Gardens bungalow, an extension off Banks Avenue that needs power, or a workshop near Wentworth Avenue tripping constantly? Phone 02 8999 3691 and a licensed electrician will visit, explain what they find and give you a firm written figure.
These are the questions Pagewood homeowners, landlords and small business owners put to us most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often we can. Crews work 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday, with Sunday off. Pagewood is close to roads we travel constantly, so a morning call to 02 8999 3691 gives the best chance of a visit the same day. If there is a burning smell, heat at a socket or a main switch that will not hold, say so and we treat it as urgent.
We inspect before naming a figure, because old and new homes here behave very differently. A newer townhouse usually has open cavities and a modern board, while an interwar bungalow may need extra time in the roof and subfloor. After looking, we give you a written fixed quote. It only changes if you ask us to add something.
It is worth checking. Pagewood’s earliest private estate began in 1919, and homes from that era can still have rubber-insulated or cloth-covered cable that turns brittle with age, plus lighting circuits with no earth. We test insulation resistance, look at the joins in the roof space and tell you honestly which circuits can stay and which should be replaced first.
Yes, and it is one of our most common Pagewood jobs, since many households here stay put and build rather than move. We work from your plans, mark out power points, lighting and data, run cabling during framing and connect everything once the linings are up. We also check early whether the existing board and supply can carry the extra load.
It depends which side of the lot boundary the fault is on. Wiring within your unit, after your own board, is usually yours to repair. Shared driveway lights, the main meter panel and common area circuits normally fall to the owners corporation. We find the actual fault first, then write it up clearly so you and the strata manager can sort out who pays.
Usually it is. Most Pagewood homes are freestanding with driveways or garages, and the Census shows 1.8 vehicles per dwelling. We check the spare capacity at your board, run a dedicated circuit to the parking spot and mount a wall charger with the right protection. If the board is old, we may suggest upgrading it at the same visit.
We do. About a quarter of Pagewood homes are rented, and NSW rules require a working alarm on each storey, repairs within two business days of the tenant reporting a fault, and replacement once an alarm reaches ten years old. Hard-wired units must go in via a licensed electrician. We fit, replace and test them and leave a dated record for the landlord or agent.
Yes. Pagewood and the neighbouring Botany and Banksmeadow areas have a long industrial history, and plenty of small operators still run from sheds and warehouse units. We add three-phase outlets and isolators, upgrade tired fluorescent battens to LED, and trace nuisance tripping on older installations. We book disruptive work to suit your production schedule.
Yes. With most Pagewood homes on their own blocks, backyards are well used. We install weatherproof outlets, garden and deck lighting, and circuits for pool pumps and heaters, all with RCD protection and cable depths that suit outdoor runs. For entertaining areas we can also wire in a ceiling fan or heater under the pergola.
Every street in Pagewood 2035, including Page Street, Banks Avenue, Park Parade, Dudley Street, Towner Gardens and the blocks around Jellicoe Park, Bonnie Doon Golf Club and Wentworth Avenue. We also cover Eastgardens, Daceyville, Hillsdale, Kingsford, Eastlakes, Banksmeadow, Botany, Maroubra and Matraville.
