Point Piper covers well under half a square kilometre on the harbour, and apartments make up most of it. The 2021 Census recorded 71.1 per cent flats and 25.6 per cent separate houses, a reverse of the NSW pattern, and just over one in five dwellings stood empty on Census night. We look after both: board and lighting work inside apartments, and complete rewiring for waterfront houses along Wunulla and Wolseley Roads during major renovations.

There is no shopping strip in Point Piper. Non-residential work centres on apartment building common property, the Royal Motor Yacht Club on Wunulla Road and yacht and rowing facilities along the waterline. For these we handle commercial electrical maintenance, lighting upgrades, marina-side power and building services.

Our same-day service covers all eleven Point Piper streets, from New South Head Road to the tip of Wolseley Road. Common urgent calls: a flooded basement tripping a building’s pump circuit, an apartment board failing mid-renovation, and harbour-facing fittings shorting after heavy rain.
Most of our Point Piper work comes from apartment owners, strata managers and the builders running high-end renovations. With half of all homes owned outright and a median age of 52, many residents have been in their buildings for years and want old wiring replaced with smart lighting, better security and quieter air conditioning. As your Point Piper electrician we also look after the handful of large waterfront houses and their boathouses and pool rooms.
Access shapes almost every job here. Apartment buildings along Wolseley Road can mean lift bookings, loading bay rules and car park access, while waterfront homes may have long cable runs down toward the water. Many owners travel, so we often coordinate keys with building managers. Swapping a failed downlight, planning a full rewire or answering an urgent power loss in a harbourfront apartment are all regular work for us across the Eastern Suburbs.

Flats make up 71.1 per cent of Point Piper dwellings. We upgrade unit boards, add circuits for renovated kitchens and bathrooms, and check with strata before touching shared risers or meters.
The suburb's large harbourfront homes often undergo full refits. We rough in lighting control, audio, security and data cabling with the builder and finish with neat, well-labelled boards.
Fittings near Seven Shillings Beach, Lady Martin's Beach and the harbour wall weather quickly. We replace corroded outdoor lights, sockets and pump connections with sealed, marine-grade hardware.
Apartment blocks need reliable lobby lighting, car park ventilation, pumps and exit signs. We maintain and test those systems for strata managers and supply dated records for the building file.

Our licensed electricians regularly work inside Point Piper apartment blocks and large harbourfront homes and understand strata rules, lift bookings and the care that fine finishes demand.

We inspect before quoting and put a single figure in writing. A lighting change in a Wolseley Road apartment and a Wunulla Road house rewire are always priced separately.

A tripped board in an occupied apartment or a failed pump in a building car park gets moved forward, and we tell the resident or building manager when to expect us.

Point Piper owners, strata managers and renovation builders are among our 250+ customers, many referred to us by other residents in the same building.

Our labour on every Point Piper job carries a lifetime guarantee, whether it is lighting in a harbourside apartment or wiring down to a waterfront boathouse.

Call with your address, unit number and building manager’s details. We check lift bookings, loading dock rules and permitted work hours before offering a time.

After inspecting the board and the circuits involved, we set out your options clearly and send a written fixed quote that you or your strata committee can review.

Kerb space near Wolseley Road can be limited, so we plan where the van goes, arrive on schedule and let the concierge or you know if anything delays us.

We protect stone floors and joinery, vacuum up any dust, remove every offcut and leave the compliance certificate with you or your building manager.

Spyro founded the business in 2017, and we now run five-plus licensed electricians, with Point Piper a regular address on our calendar. The work here demands patience and precision: apartment boards squeezed into tiny cupboards, strata approvals, finishes that must be protected, and owners who may be overseas. One dedicated crew keeps each project from quote to completion, so building managers deal with the same faces throughout.

With 71.1 per cent of Point Piper homes being apartments, most boards sit in small unit cupboards fed from a building riser. When owners renovate, those older enclosures often lack space and protection, so upgrading them is the job we quote most in 2027.

NSW requires a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work after each job, and every Point Piper visit gets one. Buildings of many ages share these eleven streets, so whenever older cable turns up inside a unit or house we record its condition and explain it plainly. Altering a board brings AS/NZS 3000 residual current protection to each final subcircuit, and Type AC units have been excluded from new work since 1 May 2023.
In Point Piper we price the job only after inspecting, then fix it in writing. The difference between properties is large: swapping fittings in a modern Wolseley Road apartment with good ceiling access is straightforward, while rewiring a large harbourfront house with many circuits and long runs to a boathouse or pool needs far more planning. We look first, set one figure, and stick to it unless the scope changes.
Planning a renovation in a Wolseley Road apartment, dealing with a tired board in a Wunulla Road home, or managing a building near Duff Reserve that needs regular maintenance? Call 02 8999 3691 and we will book an inspection and send a fixed written quote.
Point Piper apartment owners, strata managers and renovating homeowners tend to ask us these questions. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
In most cases, yes. Our electricians are on the road Monday to Friday from 7am to 5:30pm and on Saturday from 7am to 2pm, and we do not work Sundays. Point Piper is close to our eastern suburbs rounds, so calling 02 8999 3691 early gives you the best chance. Mention loss of power, smoke or heat at a fitting so we treat it urgently.
We give a firm price after we have looked at the job. Point Piper properties vary a lot, from compact apartments with a simple unit board to large waterfront houses with complex lighting and many circuits. Access, lifts and strata rules also affect time. Once we have inspected, you receive a written quote that does not change unless you ask for extra work.
Often, yes. Work inside your lot, such as adding lights or power points, may only need building rules followed, but anything involving the risers, meter room, fire systems or common property generally needs owners corporation approval. We help you work out what applies, liaise with the building manager and schedule the work within permitted hours.
Yes. Point Piper sees plenty of full refits of apartments and waterfront homes. We work from the architect’s or builder’s drawings, rough in lighting, power, data and control cabling during framing, and fit off once the finishes are in. We coordinate with other trades so switch plates, fittings and joinery line up properly.
Yes. On Census night 21.1 per cent of Point Piper dwellings were unoccupied, and many owners travel for long stretches. We arrange access through the building manager or a trusted contact, send photos and a written summary after each visit, and confirm by phone before any work that needs power switched off for other residents.
Salt air is hard on anything metal. Properties near Seven Shillings Beach, Lady Martin’s Beach or the harbour wall see corrosion on outdoor lights, sockets and pump connections. We replace failing hardware with sealed, higher IP-rated fittings, use stainless fixings and set up outdoor circuits so a single fault does not cut power to the whole home.
Usually, with the owners corporation’s approval. We check the capacity of the building supply and the path from your unit’s meter or a shared board to your car space, then prepare a proposal the committee can consider. For houses with a private garage, the process is simpler: check the board, run a dedicated circuit and mount the charger.
Around 28.2 per cent of Point Piper homes are rented. NSW landlords must keep a working alarm on each level, repair a reported fault within two business days and replace alarms older than ten years. Hard-wired models need a licensed electrician. We supply, fit and test them, and can arrange smoke alarm testing with a dated record for the agent.
We can. Point Piper’s waterline includes the Royal Motor Yacht Club on Wunulla Road and other boating facilities. That kind of site needs lighting, outdoor power and equipment circuits that cope with salt and water. We quote maintenance, lighting upgrades and repairs, and schedule work around club events and member use.
All of Point Piper 2027, including Wolseley Road, Wunulla Road, Wyuna Road, Buckhurst Avenue, Longworth Avenue, St Mervyn’s Avenue, Wentworth Street, Wingadal Place and New South Head Road near Duff Reserve. We also work in Rose Bay, Double Bay, Bellevue Hill, Darling Point, Edgecliff, Woollahra and Vaucluse.
