Duffys Forest is almost entirely detached acreage living. The 2021 Census recorded 99.3 per cent separate houses, 75.6 per cent with four or more bedrooms and an average of 4.3 bedrooms per dwelling. Mains power only reached the area in 1967, so the oldest installations here are younger than in most of Sydney, yet many have been stretched by extensions, pools and outbuildings since. We upgrade main boards, run long underground sub-mains to sheds and studios, and rewire additions properly.

There is no shopping strip here. Non-residential work comes from AGBU Alexander Primary School, the Terrey Hills Golf and Country Club, the Rural Fire Service station on Anembo Road, equestrian properties and home businesses run from large sheds. We service lighting, power, RCD testing and commercial maintenance for these sites, planned around lessons, tee times and brigade meetings.

Out here our same-day service usually means a storm-soaked outdoor circuit that trips the whole house, a bore or pool pump that will not restart, a flooded pit on a long sub-main, or a stable block with no lights at feeding time. We make each fault safe before any repair talk.
Our Duffys Forest clients are mostly families on big blocks, with 2.9 vehicles per dwelling and plenty of room for garages, workshops and horse gear. Typical jobs include feeding power to a detached shed, lighting a riding arena or a long driveway, adding outdoor power points for tools and float charging, and wiring a new pavilion or studio. As the Duffys Forest electrician many of these owners call first, we understand how far a board can sit from the building it feeds.
The suburb rides a ridge bounded on three sides by Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, so bushfire season and summer storms shape the work. We fit generator inlets, check outdoor fittings after heavy weather and respond to urgent faults on rural blocks. Terrey Hills sits to the east, and our crews cover the rest of the Northern Beaches as well.

Three in four Duffys Forest homes have four or more bedrooms. We upgrade boards for pools, ducted air and home offices, and add LED lighting through big open-plan living spaces and verandahs.
National park wraps around the suburb on three sides. We check outdoor fittings and cabling around the house, use metal or fire-resistant enclosures where suitable and keep external circuits well protected.
Bushland streets can lose supply when storms or fire bring lines down. We fit a proper generator inlet and changeover switch so a portable set can run the fridge, pump and lights safely.
AGBU Alexander Primary School, the golf club and the RFS station on Anembo Road all need tested exit lights, RCDs and reliable power. We schedule this work around their timetables.

Our electricians are licensed and used to acreage work: long cable runs, detached outbuildings and boards set far from the house, all common along Booralie and Namba Roads.

Every property here is different, so we walk the block, look at trench routes and loads, and then put a single fixed number in writing before starting.

A dead pump, a shed with no power or a storm-damaged outdoor circuit gets a quick response, because we know how isolated a Duffys Forest block can feel during an outage.

Among our 250+ customers are horse owners, families and small operators on the ridge, many introduced by a neighbour across the paddock fence.

Our labour carries a lifetime guarantee, which matters on acreage where a buried sub-main to a stable or studio is expensive to dig up a second time.

Give us your address, gate code and where the board and outbuildings sit on the block. We then pick a time that works around feeding, school pickups and work.

After walking the property and testing the supply, we explain the options and send a written fixed figure, including any trenching, before any work is booked in.

We turn up in the agreed window with the right cable lengths on the van. If Mona Vale Road traffic delays us, we phone ahead with a revised time.

Trenches are backfilled, offcuts and packaging go with us, and you receive the compliance certificate along with a sketch of where new cables run on your land.

Spyro founded the business in 2017 and has grown it to five-plus licensed electricians. Duffys Forest gives us some of our most varied days: a switchboard swap in a large family home in the morning, then power and lighting for a stable or arena in the afternoon. We like acreage jobs because careful planning pays off, from trench routes to sizing a sub-main for the workshop you might add in five years.

Duffys Forest grew from orchards, farmlets and horse properties, and equine recreation has expanded here since the 1980s. With 99.3 per cent of dwellings being separate houses on large blocks, power to sheds, stables and studios is the job we quote most often in 2084.

A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued for every job we complete in Duffys Forest, as NSW requires. On acreage that includes underground cabling to outbuildings, which we document so future digging avoids it. Any board we alter gets RCD protection on its final subcircuits under AS/NZS 3000, and Type AC devices have been ruled out for new work since 1 May 2023, so Type A or better goes in.
Every quote here is a fixed figure in writing, given after we have walked the land. Numbers over the phone rarely hold in Duffys Forest: swapping lights in the main house is simple, while powering a stable fifty metres down a slope involves trenching, conduit and a sub-board. Once we have seen the ground and the loads, we settle on one price.
Need power to a new shed, lights for the arena, a generator inlet before bushfire season or a modern board for the house? Call 02 8999 3691 and a licensed electrician will walk your Duffys Forest block, then send one written figure with labour guaranteed for life.
Acreage owners, horse keepers and families in Duffys Forest put these questions to us most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often we can. Our hours are 7am to 5:30pm on weekdays and 7am to 2pm on Saturdays, Sunday closed. Call 02 8999 3691 early, tell us whether the whole property is off or just one building, and we will do our best to reach the ridge before the day finishes. Anything sparking, smoking or exposed is dealt with first.
After a site visit, as one fixed amount in writing. Distances drive cost out here: a trench to a stable, cable sized for a long run, or a sub-board in a workshop all change the scope. We measure everything first, explain the choices, and the figure only moves if you decide to add more work.
Yes, it is one of our most common Duffys Forest jobs. We calculate voltage drop for the distance, run the sub-main in conduit underground, and fit a separate board at the outbuilding with RCD protection. Lighting, outlets for tools and power for water heaters or fans can all be added in the same visit.
Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park surrounds the suburb on three sides, and fires have historically visited the area regularly. We check external wiring and fittings, replace damaged or brittle outdoor cabling, and can fit a generator inlet with a changeover switch so pumps and essentials keep running during an outage. Follow the Rural Fire Service for your bushfire survival plan.
Yes. Plugging a generator into a power point is dangerous, because it can feed back into the network and injure line workers. We install an approved inlet and a changeover switch at the board, so the house draws either from the grid or from the generator, never both at once. We label which circuits the generator will run.
We do. With equestrian activity well established here, arena and yard lighting is a regular request. We use weatherproof LED floodlights, mount them on suitable poles or structures, and aim them to limit glare and light spill into the bushland. Switching can be local, timed or sensor controlled depending on how you use the space.
Quite possibly. Duffys Forest homes average 4.3 bedrooms and often have pools, ducted air and home offices added over time. If your board has no spare ways, lacks RCD protection or runs warm, an upgrade is wise. We also fit safety switches across every final subcircuit, which the wiring rules require when a board is altered.
Yes. With 2.9 vehicles per dwelling, many households here are ready for home charging. We check the board and supply capacity first, then run a dedicated circuit to the garage, carport or shed. Where the charger sits well away from the board, we size the cable for the distance so charging stays reliable.
We do. AGBU Alexander Primary School, the Terrey Hills Golf and Country Club and local equestrian facilities all need regular maintenance, emergency light testing and RCD checks. We plan the work around lessons, events and member play so disruption stays minimal, and provide dated records for compliance files.
Yes. Every one of our electricians is licensed in NSW and fully insured. Spyro has run the business since 2017, and the team has now completed more than 7,000 projects. Each job receives a CCEW, and we guarantee our labour for life, so faulty workmanship on anything we install is fixed at no charge.
