This small Tarban Creek peninsula is townhouse country. The 2021 Census recorded 78.6 per cent of its 323 occupied homes as semi-detached, row or townhouse dwellings, 20.7 per cent as flats and just 1.5 per cent as separate houses, against 65.6 per cent statewide. Half the homes have three bedrooms. We add extra outlets in open-plan living rooms, swap tired halogen fittings for LED downlights, and rework garage circuits where owners want a workbench or a second fridge.

Commercial work here is modest in scale: the cafe and function venue on the waterfront, plus rowing boatsheds used by UNSW Rowing Club and Sydney Girls High School beside Tarban Creek. We handle lighting, pontoon-side outlets and business electrical repairs where damp air and river spray test every fitting.

Huntleys Cove sits a short hop from our regular Gladesville and Hunters Hill runs, so same-day service is realistic here. Typical urgent calls: a townhouse garage circuit tripping after a storm, a scorched kitchen outlet, or a lighting fault in a shared driveway that leaves neighbours in the dark.
Residents here skew older than most of Sydney, with a median age of 50 and roughly one in three people aged 65 or over, so a lot of our Huntleys Cove work is about comfort and safety at home: brighter stair lighting, easier-to-reach switches, and alarms that stop chirping at 3am. As the Huntleys Cove electrician many owners already know, we also help investors who lease out the 27 per cent of homes that are rented.
The peninsula was once part of the Gladesville Mental Hospital grounds and carried the name Tarban until residents voted for the current one in 2002. That history means compact streets, shared driveways and townhouse blocks with common electrical assets. Whether a body corporate needs a driveway light replaced or a resident needs an urgent fault repaired, we plan around neighbours and parking, then carry the same care to jobs right across the Northern Suburbs.

Most homes here are attached townhouses. We separate what belongs to your lot from what the owners corporation maintains, so repairs to driveway lights, meters and shared feeds go to the right account.
With a median age of 50, many residents want better lighting on stairs, illuminated switches and interconnected alarms. We fit these neatly without disturbing finished walls more than the job needs.
Moist air off Tarban Creek and the Parramatta River corrodes outdoor fittings faster than inland. We use weatherproof enclosures and check terminals on balconies, courtyards and garage doors.
Some townhouse boards still rely on older breakers with limited residual current protection. When we alter or replace them, every final subcircuit receives RCD cover as current standards require.

Our licensed electricians regularly work in Hunters Hill municipality townhouses and understand how wiring is shared between individual lots and the common areas of a Tarban Creek complex.

Nothing is billed from guesswork. We walk through your Fryar Place or Waruda Place townhouse first, then send one written figure that stays put unless you change the brief.

A dead circuit on a peninsula with one road out can feel isolating. We keep room in the day for urgent Huntleys Cove calls and phone ahead with a realistic arrival time.

Many of our 250+ customers live along the Parramatta River foreshore, and several Huntleys Cove owners came to us after a neighbour in the same complex recommended the team.

Labour on every job we complete at Huntleys Cove carries a lifetime guarantee, from a single replaced outlet on Karrabee Avenue to a full townhouse board swap.

Ring or book online and mention which complex you live in and where visitors park. We then suggest a window that suits your week, including early Saturday slots.

Our electrician inspects the board and the circuits involved, talks you through the options, and emails a written fixed quote before a single cable is touched.

Visitor bays near Mortimer Lewis Drive fill quickly, so we plan where the van will sit and arrive inside the agreed window, texting you if the Victoria Road traffic slows us.

Before leaving we vacuum any drill dust, take all packaging away, test every circuit we touched and leave the compliance paperwork for your records or the strata manager.

Spyro started the business in 2017 with a simple idea: turn up when promised and explain the work honestly. The crew has since grown to more than five licensed electricians, and the riverside suburbs between Gladesville and Hunters Hill became familiar territory. In Huntleys Cove we mostly refresh lighting, replace older boards, fit extra outlets and keep alarms compliant for owners and landlords, with the same electrician staying on each job from quote to handover.

With 78.6 per cent of Huntleys Cove homes counted as townhouses or semi-detached dwellings in 2021, most sit in complexes whose boards are now decades old. Adding or checking residual current protection is the upgrade we recommend most often here.

In NSW a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is mandatory, and every Huntleys Cove job we complete gets one. For townhouse complexes that paperwork matters, because owners corporations and future buyers will ask for it. Boards we alter gain RCD cover across the final subcircuits, and we skip Type AC units altogether since they left new work on 1 May 2023.
You get a fixed written figure after we have seen the job. That matters here because two addresses a few metres apart can differ widely: adding lights inside a single townhouse with ceiling access is quick, while running a new feed through a shared garage slab or common wall needs strata consent and extra hours. Seeing it first keeps the quote honest.
Tired halogen lights, an ageing board or a smoke alarm that keeps chirping in your Huntleys Cove townhouse? Call 02 8999 3691 and book a licensed electrician who knows the peninsula. We look at it in person, commit to one written price, and back our workmanship with a lifetime labour promise.
Townhouse owners, retirees, landlords and owners corporation committees in Huntleys Cove tend to ask us the following. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Most days, yes. We work from 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm on Saturday, and crews pass through Gladesville and Hunters Hill often. Calling before lunch gives us the best chance of reaching your townhouse that afternoon. If a board is hot, smells of burning or will not reset, say so straight away and we will prioritise the visit. Sundays we are closed.
We quote after looking, never from a phone description alone. An electrician checks the board, the circuit paths and access, then emails a fixed written price. In Huntleys Cove the biggest variables are whether ceiling space exists above the townhouse and whether the work touches common property. That fixed figure only changes if you ask for more work while we are there.
Generally, wiring from your own board into your rooms belongs to you as the lot owner, while mains, meters, driveway lights and shared feeds are the owners corporation’s responsibility. Every by-law and plan can differ, so we check before quoting and note in writing which items fall to which party. That saves arguments at the next general meeting.
It can be. A brief dip when a large compressor starts is common, but regular flicker, warm switch plates or a buzzing board point to a loose connection or an overloaded circuit. In many Huntleys Cove townhouses the air conditioner shares a circuit with other loads. We test voltage drop, tighten or replace terminations and add a dedicated circuit if the load warrants it.
Yes, it is common work here. Huntleys Cove has a median age of 50 and a large share of residents over 65. We fit illuminated or larger rocker switches, sensor lights on stairs and paths, extra outlets at bench height to avoid bending, and interconnected smoke alarms so a warning upstairs is heard downstairs. We plan fittings with the person who will use them.
They do. Moist, sometimes salty air around Tarban Creek and the Parramatta River gets into poorly sealed fittings, so terminals corrode and outdoor circuits begin tripping safety switches. We use enclosures with the right IP rating, seal cable entries and position courtyard outlets away from wash-down areas. A yearly look at exposed fittings catches most problems early.
Around 27 per cent of Huntleys Cove homes were rented at the last Census, so we do plenty of this. Under NSW tenancy rules, each storey needs a working alarm, a reported fault must be fixed within two business days, and any alarm older than ten years from its manufacture date gets replaced. Mains-powered units are licensed electrician work only. We test, swap what fails and hand you a dated record.
Often we can. We check the capacity of your supply, how far the garage is from your board, and whether cabling must pass through common property. Where the owners corporation needs to approve the route, we supply a clear description and drawing for the committee. Once approved we fit the charger circuit, label it and test it under load.
If your townhouse still has halogen downlights, replacement is usually worthwhile. Halogens run hot, use more energy and often sit near insulation in the ceiling. We install modern LED fittings rated for contact with insulation, choose colour temperatures to suit living areas and bedrooms, and can add dimming where the circuit allows.
All of postcode 2111’s Huntleys Cove, including Mortimer Lewis Drive, Karrabee Avenue, Fryar Place, Waruda Place and the Tarban Creek waterfront, plus the Manning Road and Salter Street edges.
