Tennyson Point is a small peninsula of about ten streets, and the 2021 Census found 78.5 per cent separate houses, 22.2 per cent townhouses or semis and no flats at all. Homes are large: 65.2 per cent hold four bedrooms or more, roughly double the NSW share. Because lots sold slowly after the 1887 Tennyson Estate subdivision, building dates run from early cottages to recent rebuilds. We handle renovation wiring, extra circuits for big kitchens and LED downlight changeovers in open-plan living areas.

There is no shopping strip on the peninsula. The Tennyson Textiles factory at Morrisons Bay, which employed 160 people by 1958, closed after the 1960s and the land became parkland and townhouses. Commercial work here means home offices, studios and small practices run from residences, which we supply with dedicated circuits and data.

Same-day service covers each Tennyson Point street, from Morrison Road down to Raven Point. Urgent calls we see here: a river storm tripping outdoor lighting circuits, a pool pump outlet that has filled with water, or a large home losing power on one phase.
Most Tennyson Point homes are owner-occupied, with 48.8 per cent owned outright at the 2021 Census and just 12.2 per cent rented. That means our clients here are usually long-term owners planning renovations, families adding rooms and retirees who want an old board replaced before it fails. As your Tennyson Point electrician we also wire home offices, since professionals and managers together made up over half of local workers.
The water shapes much of the work. Houses facing Glades Bay, Morrisons Bay or the Parramatta River take salt-laden wind and summer storms, so exterior lights and garden circuits corrode faster than inland. Townhouse owners on the old factory site ask about shared lighting, and when a board overheats we arrange an urgent electrical repair the same day, as we do right across the Northern Suburbs.

Homes along Glades Bay, Morrisons Bay and the river face salt spray and wet wind. We fit marine-rated fittings, weatherproof outlets and RCD-protected garden circuits that last longer on the foreshore.
At 3.8 bedrooms per dwelling on average, local houses carry heavy loads from ducted air, second kitchens and home offices. We run dedicated circuits and add extra outlets where families need them.
After the textile works at Morrisons Bay closed, townhouses went up beside the new parkland. We handle shared driveway lights, submain faults and questions over which wiring the strata scheme owns.
Lots in the 1887 Tennyson Estate sold in waves up to 1901, so some houses keep much older wiring. We test insulation, add earthing and replace brittle cable without harming original ceilings.

Licensed members of our team have worked on boards in Tennyson Point homes of every age, from early estate cottages near Deeble Street to rebuilt four-bedroom houses above Morrisons Bay.

A townhouse on the former Tennyson Textiles land and a large riverfront home cannot share a guess, so each gets a site visit and then one fixed figure on paper.

When a storm off the Parramatta River knocks out outdoor circuits or a board starts buzzing, we push the job forward and aim to be on the peninsula that day.

Among our 250+ customers are Tennyson Point families and retirees who heard about us from neighbours along Champion Street and Teemer Street after a well-run first job.

Labour on every circuit we install here stays guaranteed for life, including garden and jetty-side lighting that faces harsh salt exposure from Glades Bay.

Call and tell us your street and whether the driveway is steep or shared. With only ten streets to reach, we can usually offer a visit within a day or two.

An electrician inspects the board, roof space and outdoor runs, then emails a fixed written price. Nothing is added unless you ask for extra work.

Street parking on the narrow peninsula roads is tight, so we plan where the van goes and turn up inside the agreed window. Delays mean a phone call from us first.

Sheets protect floors and joinery, the van swallows every scrap of cable and cardboard, and a plain note on each new circuit arrives with your certificate.

What Spyro began in 2017 has grown into a five-plus crew of licensed electricians. Tennyson Point is one of the smaller places we look after, but its big family homes keep us busy with renovation wiring, board replacements and outdoor lighting built to cope with the river air. Owners here tend to stay for decades, so we keep proper records of what we install and come back when they plan the next stage.

At the 2021 Census, 65.2 per cent of Tennyson Point dwellings had four or more bedrooms, and households averaged 2.2 vehicles. Big houses with many appliances, pumps and cars put more pressure on switchboards than almost anywhere else in the Ryde area.

NSW law ties a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work to each job, and peninsula owners receive theirs by email once we finish. On a peninsula where some homes date back to the early Tennyson Estate sales and others are recent rebuilds, the certificate records what we tested and changed. Any board we modify gains RCD protection on its final subcircuits under AS/NZS 3000, and we never use Type AC devices, struck out of fresh installations from 1 May 2023.
We give Tennyson Point owners one fixed price in writing after seeing the job. The difference between properties is large here: adding a light circuit in a two-storey townhouse near Morrisons Bay can be simple, while running cable through a big older home with a low roof and tight subfloor takes much more time. Inspection comes first, then the agreed figure.
Planning an extension on Champion Street, battling corroded garden lights near Glades Bay, or ready to retire an old fuse panel? Ring 02 8999 3691. Our electrician walks through the options on site, then commits to a firm price on paper, with labour covered for as long as you own the home.
Tennyson Point homeowners, renovating families and townhouse owners on the peninsula ask these questions most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Frequently. Weekdays our vans roll 7am until 5:30pm, Saturdays 7am until 2pm, and Tennyson Point sits a few minutes from routes we drive through Gladesville and Putney. Phone 02 8999 3691 early for the best chance of an afternoon slot. Burning smells, sparking or a board that will not reset get dealt with ahead of planned work.
We do not quote blind. Homes here range from compact townhouses to five-bedroom riverfront houses, so the same request can take very different effort. We inspect the board, roof space and access, then send you a fixed written price. That number holds unless you decide to add more work.
Houses around Glades Bay, Morrisons Bay and the Parramatta River get salt-laden air and driving rain, which corrodes terminals and lets water into cheap fittings. We replace them with marine-grade or better sealed units, use proper weatherproof junction boxes and make sure every outdoor circuit has RCD protection so a wet fault trips safely.
Yes. With nearly two thirds of local homes at four bedrooms or more, many owners here extend rather than move. We work with your builder from rough-in to fit-off, plan circuits for new bathrooms, kitchens and ducted air, and check whether the existing board and supply can carry the extra load before the frame goes up.
The townhouses near Morrisons Bay were built after the textile factory closed, and they usually fall under a strata or community scheme. Wiring inside your lot and your own board is normally yours; shared driveway lights, meter panels and submains are generally common property. We trace the fault and write up where it sits for you and the strata manager.
We do. Households here averaged 2.2 vehicles at the 2021 Census and most homes have a garage or driveway, which makes charging practical. We measure how much headroom the board has, lay a separate feed into the garage, mount the charger and set up load management if needed so the house does not overload.
Certainly. The Tennyson Estate was subdivided in 1887 and lots sold through to 1901, so some homes on the peninsula carry wiring from several eras. We test insulation resistance, find unearthed circuits and quote a staged rewire that protects original ceilings, joinery and floors.
Yes. Pool and spa equipment needs its own protected circuit, bonding and weatherproof outlets placed well clear of splash zones. On the peninsula we also allow for salt air when choosing fittings, and we coordinate with your pool builder so the pump, heater and lighting are ready when the shell is finished.
We do. Managers and professionals together made up over half of Tennyson Point workers at the 2021 Census, and many work from home at least part of the week. We run data cabling to a study or granny flat, add dedicated power for equipment and position outlets so desks are not reliant on power boards.
Every part of Tennyson Point 2111 is ours to cover, taking in Champion, Beach, Deeble, Kemp, Teemer and Bayview Streets, Morrison Road, Tennyson Park, Raven Point and the homes above Glades Bay and Morrisons Bay. We also work every week in Putney, Gladesville, Ryde, Huntleys Point, Huntleys Cove, Boronia Park, Meadowbank and East Ryde.
