Current Girraween deals apply from the Targo Road cottages to the Magowar Road workshops, and to families near Girraween Park, CV Kelly Park and the Toongabbie Road warehouses. Bring the offer up on your first call and the saving is noted on the job card.

Girraween splits almost evenly between houses and attached homes. The 2021 Census recorded 45.8 per cent separate houses and 46.6 per cent semi-detached, row or townhouse dwellings, far above the 11.7 per cent NSW figure, with only 7.7 per cent flats. Arthur Rickard carved the estate up from 1910, so Federation weatherboards like the c.1923 cottage on Targo Road sit beside new duplex pairs. We replace worn switchboards, rewire older cottages and fit out fresh duplex halves with their own metering and circuits.

Toongabbie Road carries a run of factories and high-clearance warehouses with quick links to the Great Western Highway and M4, and Magowar Road holds more light industry. We handle three-phase machine feeds, warehouse high-bay lighting, office partitions inside industrial units and commercial maintenance that works around dispatch schedules.

Girraween gets same-day service across the grid between Toongabbie Road and Pendle Hill. Typical urgent jobs: a Federation cottage losing a circuit to perished rubber cable, a new duplex whose RCD trips every time the oven runs, or a warehouse roller door stuck because its supply has failed.
Girraween households are big and busy, averaging 3.2 people per home in the 2021 count, and more than a third of residents were born in India. That means packed kitchens, several air conditioners on at once and home offices tucked into spare rooms. As a Girraween electrician we split circuits so the kettle and the rice cooker stop fighting, add power to garages and help owners who are knocking down a 1920s cottage to build a duplex pair.
The estate has a long memory. Heritage listings cover 26 Tungarra Road, built before 1916, and the Targo Road cottage from about 1923, both timber and both fragile inside the walls. Factory tenants along Toongabbie Road call us for machine faults and lighting, and anyone facing an urgent electrical problem gets a quick reply from our team working across Western Sydney.

Attached homes make up 46.6 per cent of Girraween dwellings. We wire each half with its own board and meter position, plan kitchen and laundry circuits, and coordinate with builders on the slab and frame stages.
Council lists cottages on Targo and Tungarra roads dating from before 1916 to around 1923. We rewire such timber homes carefully, keeping verandah details and original casement windows intact while replacing brittle cabling.
Large freestanding warehouses with tall internal clearance line Toongabbie Road. We service three-phase distribution boards, high-bay lighting, dangerous goods storage areas and upstairs office floors without holding up forklift traffic.
With 3.2 people per household, Girraween homes run heavy loads at dinnertime. We add dedicated circuits for cooking, split air conditioning and extra power points so a single breaker is not carrying the whole kitchen.

Our licensed crew has worked inside Girraween weatherboards from the Rickard subdivision era and inside brand new duplex halves, so both old cable and modern metering are familiar ground.

A Tungarra Road cottage rewire and a single power point in a Magowar Road unit are priced separately after we look, and each figure is set down in writing.

When a Girraween home loses power or a Toongabbie Road warehouse circuit dies, we shuffle the day and send the nearest electrician out as soon as possible.

Girraween parents from the Girraween Public School catchment and small factory owners are among our 250+ customers, and many heard about us from relatives in the next street.

Every circuit we install in Girraween carries a lifetime labour guarantee, whether it sits in the ceiling of a 1920s weatherboard or behind plasterboard in a 2020s duplex.

Ring or message with your street and the job. Tell us if the driveway is shared with a duplex neighbour so we can plan where the van parks without blocking anyone.

We inspect the board and the roof space, explain what is safe and what is not, then email a fixed written figure you can check with family before agreeing.

Our electricians know the Toongabbie Road and Great Western Highway traffic, allow for school pick-up near Girraween High, and phone ahead if the arrival time shifts.

Offcuts, packaging and old fittings leave in our van. You receive the CCEW, a tidy labelled board and a quick walk-through of what we changed in your home.

Spyro founded the business in 2017, and the team is now five-plus licensed electricians with Girraween firmly on our weekly routes. The suburb shows the full range of our work: patching up early Federation cottages, wiring duplex rebuilds from slab to handover, and keeping factories along Toongabbie Road productive. The same electrician usually stays with your job from the first inspection to the final test, so nobody has to explain the house twice.

Girraween’s 2021 dwelling mix showed 46.6 per cent attached homes, four times the state share, and many of those replaced single cottages from the 1910 to 1920s subdivision. New dual-occupancy builds need two complete electrical systems on one lot, which is the job we quote most here.

Girraween’s timber cottages from the Rickard estate era can hide cracked insulation and missing earths, while new duplexes need correct RCD protection from day one. After every job we test the work and lodge a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, the CCEW, so the record stays with the property. Any altered board gets safety switches of Type A or better on its final subcircuits, as AS/NZS 3000 requires.
Nothing is charged by guesswork. We look at the site, then agree a fixed written figure before starting. A rewire in a 1920s Tungarra Road weatherboard involves crawling through a low roof space and lifting old boards, while wiring a brand new duplex half on Octavia Street happens on open frames. Because those jobs differ so much, each quote reflects the real work, and the figure holds unless you ask for more.
If your Girraween home still runs on an original fuse panel, or your duplex build is ready for its electrical fit-out, call 02 8999 3691. We will book an inspection that suits your household, give you a written fixed figure and have a licensed electrician on site at the agreed time.
Girraween families, duplex builders, landlords and warehouse tenants raise these questions with us most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
In most cases, yes. Our electricians work Monday to Friday from 7am to 5:30pm and Saturday from 7am to 2pm, and Girraween sits right beside the Great Western Highway corridor we travel daily. A morning call gives the best chance of a same-day visit. If you notice a burning smell or a hot switch, tell us straight away and we will move that ahead of routine bookings.
We never guess on the phone. An electrician looks at your board, wiring and access first, then writes down one fixed figure for the agreed scope. A fault in a timber cottage near Targo Road can take more investigation than the same fault in a recent duplex, so seeing it matters. The written figure stays the same unless you choose to add extra work.
Ideally before the slab is poured, so conduits for the mains and any underground cables are placed correctly. We then return at frame stage to run cabling for lights, power, data and air conditioning, and again at fit-off. Each dwelling gets its own board and testing, and we lodge a CCEW for both halves so the certifier has what is needed for occupation.
Homes from the early Girraween Estate years often still carry rubber or cloth insulated cable, which becomes brittle and can crack when disturbed. It may work for years, then fail when someone adds a new appliance. We inspect the roof space and subfloor, test insulation resistance and tell you plainly whether a full rewire or targeted repairs make sense for your cottage.
Often it is not the load but a small leakage fault on one appliance or circuit that pushes the RCD over its limit when things heat up. In busy Girraween homes with several people cooking at once, the problem shows up at dinnertime. We test each circuit, find the faulty item and, if the board is overloaded, split the kitchen and cooling onto separate protected circuits.
Cumberland Council lists two cottages in Girraween, and changes to their fabric may need approval. Most internal rewiring can be done without altering the look of the home, but work on the facade, verandah or original windows could be affected. We keep new fittings discreet and suggest you check with council before planning any visible change to a listed property.
Yes. Many Girraween homes average 1.6 cars each, and a wall charger in the garage or carport is a popular upgrade. We check that the switchboard and supply can handle the extra load, run a dedicated circuit with its own RCD protection and mount the unit where the cable reaches the car. Duplex owners can have a charger fitted on each side.
About a third of Girraween dwellings were rented in 2021, so many owners need to meet NSW rental rules. Each storey requires a working alarm, faults must be repaired within two business days of notice, and alarms need replacing within ten years of manufacture. Hard-wired units must be installed by a licensed electrician. We supply, fit and test smoke alarms with dated records for your agent.
We do. The warehouses along Toongabbie Road and the smaller units on Magowar Road call us for three-phase power to machines, replacement of failing high-bay lights, office fit-outs on mezzanines and fault finding on roller doors. We plan the work around deliveries so forklifts and trucks can keep moving, and we provide test records for the landlord or insurer.
We cover all of Girraween in postcode 2145, including Targo Road, Tungarra Road, Octavia Street near Girraween Park, the CV Kelly Park area and the industrial strip along Toongabbie Road and Magowar Road. We are also regularly in Pendle Hill, Toongabbie, Greystanes, Pemulwuy, Wentworthville, Prospect, Westmead, Seven Hills and Blacktown, so neighbouring jobs are easy to fit in.
