Prospect is overwhelmingly detached. At the 2021 Census, 84.1 per cent of dwellings were separate houses, against 65.6 per cent for NSW, and 42.6 per cent had four or more bedrooms. Owners dominate too: 43.9 per cent carry a mortgage and 33.1 per cent own outright, with only 21.1 per cent renting. Large homes like these load up boards with ducted or split cooling, second fridges and home offices, so we spend much of our time on switchboard upgrades, new circuits and LED downlights.

Business here clusters around a handful of big sites: Sydney Action Park, the 25-hectare water park, the 1877 Royal Cricketers Arms Inn on Reservoir Road, and the youth centre on Hylands Road. We also service workshops in the industrial ground on Prospect Hill, now inside neighbouring Pemulwuy, handling lighting, three-phase power and routine maintenance.

We offer same-day service right across Prospect, from Ponds Road over to the reservoir edge. Urgent calls we see include a cooling circuit failing on a scorching January afternoon, a safety switch that will not reset after a summer storm, and an outdoor outlet damaged by water.
Most of our Prospect clients are owner-occupier families living in three- and four-bedroom houses, which is no surprise when the Census counted an average of 3.4 bedrooms per dwelling. They call for extra power in garages and home offices, safer boards before a kitchen renovation, and better outdoor lighting. As a Prospect electrician we also look after a few heritage properties from the old village days.
The suburb sits beside Prospect Reservoir, which was finished in 1888 and was Australia’s first earthfill embankment dam. Streets run between the Great Western Highway, the M4 and the Prospect Highway, so our vans reach every corner quickly. Heat is a real factor, with 45.1 degrees recorded here in January 2018, and air conditioning pushes old boards hard. For a total loss of power, call our urgent electrical repair line and we come across Western Sydney to help.

Over 42 per cent of Prospect dwellings have four or more bedrooms. Bigger homes mean more lighting, extra appliances and higher cooling loads, so we add circuits and balance loads across the board.
The Royal Cricketers Arms, the Tarlington Place post office building and St Bartholomew's on Ponds Road are heritage listed. We wire such buildings discreetly and protect original fabric.
Temperatures at Prospect have passed 45 degrees. We run dedicated circuits and outlets for split systems, fit outdoor isolators and check that boards can handle every unit running at once.
Sydney Action Park and the Reservoir Road hotel bring visitors year round. We support nearby venues with lighting repairs, extra kitchen circuits and emergency lighting tests planned around their opening hours.

Our licensed team knows Prospect’s large family homes and older village buildings, and checks board capacity properly before adding the heavy cooling loads that local summers demand.

We inspect before we price. A four-bedroom house near Tarlington Place and a heritage building on Reservoir Road each receive their own fixed figure in writing.

When a hot-weather overload knocks out cooling in a Prospect home full of kids, that job jumps our queue and an electrician is sent across promptly.

Prospect homeowners near the reservoir and along Ponds Road are among our 250+ customers, and many heard about us through relatives in Blacktown or Greystanes.

Labour on each circuit we install in a Prospect house is guaranteed for life, whether it is a new board, a garage outlet or a string of outdoor lights.

Let us know your street and whether the board sits in the garage, hallway or outside wall. Then we lock in a time around school runs, shift work or weekend plans.

After checking the board, roof space and cable paths, we explain what is needed in plain English and send one written price before any Prospect wiring changes.

Highway traffic near the M4 can be unpredictable, so we allow for it and arrive in the agreed window. If a crash holds us up, we phone ahead with a revised time.

Floors are protected, offcuts are bagged and removed, and before leaving we walk you through the finished work and hand over your compliance certificate.

Back in 2017 Spyro opened the doors, and the team now numbers five-plus licensed electricians. Prospect has become familiar ground: family homes with busy boards, heat-driven air conditioning jobs, and the odd heritage building near the reservoir that needs a careful hand. We keep the talk plain, turn up when promised, and the electrician who quotes your job is the one who completes it.

Prospect households averaged 2.1 motor vehicles per dwelling at the 2021 Census, and 84.1 per cent live in separate houses with garages or driveways. That combination makes home EV charging practical for many families here.

After every Prospect job, a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is lodged, as NSW rules require. In older houses, anything we find unsafe while working gets fixed or written up for you. When we modify a board, AS/NZS 3000 obliges us to protect every final subcircuit with residual current devices, and because Type AC units have been banned from new work since 1 May 2023, we install Type A or better.
Our price is fixed and written down before we start. Two Prospect homes can differ widely: adding a circuit in a newer four-bedroom house with a roomy roof space may be quick, while the same request in an older village building near Reservoir Road means careful routing around original materials. We inspect first, then commit to one number.
Air conditioning tripping your Prospect board, a new EV to charge, or a heritage building that needs careful rewiring? Dial 02 8999 3691. One of our licensed people will see the site, set a firm price on paper and guarantee that workmanship permanently.
Prospect homeowners, families and local venue operators ask us these questions most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
In most cases, yes. Our team runs from 7am until 5:30pm on weekdays and 7am until 2pm on Saturdays, and we do not work Sundays. Prospect is close to the M4 and Great Western Highway, which we use constantly, so a morning call to 02 8999 3691 often means a visit that afternoon. Warn us about sparks, smoke or a hot switch so we can move you forward.
We only give prices after seeing the job. A new circuit in a recent four-bedroom Prospect home with good roof access is a very different task to the same work in an older building with hard walls and limited cavity space. Once we have inspected, you get a fixed written figure that only changes if you ask us to add something.
Large Prospect homes often run several split systems at once on the hottest days, and older boards were never sized for that. Tripping can come from overloaded circuits, a failing RCD or a fault in one outdoor unit. We test each circuit under load, find the cause and, if needed, add dedicated circuits or upgrade the board so cooling keeps running through a heatwave.
It depends on its age and spare capacity. Many Prospect renovations add an induction cooktop, a wall oven and a dishwasher at once, which can overwhelm an original board. We check the main switch rating, spare poles and RCD coverage, then advise whether a renovation rewire can simply extend the existing board or whether an upgrade makes more sense.
Yes, with care. Prospect holds several heritage-listed places, including the Royal Cricketers Arms Inn on Reservoir Road, the post office building at 23 Tarlington Place and St Bartholomew’s Church on Ponds Road. For older buildings we route new cabling through existing cavities, avoid cutting original joinery, and keep new fittings discreet. Check with council about any approvals before major changes.
Certainly. With most Prospect homes being detached houses with driveways and garages, workshop power is a common request. We run a sub-circuit from the main board, add weatherproof outlets, lighting and, if needed, a small sub-board with its own RCD protection. Heavy tools like welders or compressors may need a larger circuit, which we size after checking your supply.
We do. Bigger blocks and long driveways in Prospect benefit from sensor lights, garden lighting and bright entry fittings. We choose weatherproof LED fittings rated for outdoor use, run cable in conduit or underground where needed, and add timers or sensors so lights come on only when useful. Every outdoor circuit gets proper RCD protection.
Yes. Prospect’s commercial activity centres on Sydney Action Park, the hotel on Reservoir Road and community facilities on Hylands Road. We carry out lighting repairs, add kitchen and refrigeration circuits, test emergency and exit lighting, and handle fault finding. Disruptive work is planned for quieter periods so visitors and guests are not inconvenienced.
For many families it is. The Census recorded 2.1 vehicles per Prospect dwelling, and most homes have a garage or carport near the meter. We assess spare capacity, run a dedicated circuit, and mount the unit where the cable reaches the car comfortably. If your board is already busy with air conditioning, we explain the options before any work begins.
We cover all of Prospect 2148, including Reservoir Road, Ponds Road, Tarlington Place, Hylands Road, the Great Western Highway frontage and the streets near Prospect Reservoir and the Nature Reserve. We also work regularly in Pemulwuy, Girraween, Toongabbie, Seven Hills, Blacktown, Greystanes, Pendle Hill, Wetherill Park and Smithfield.
