Trading inside Broadway Shopping Centre, living in One Central Park or managing a Kensington Street tenancy? Our current Broadway deals extend to Bay Street, Mountain Street and the Victoria Park end of the strip. Raise the offer when booking and we will include it.

Broadway is a 700-metre stretch of the Great Western Highway dividing Ultimo from Chippendale, and the homes along it are almost all high density. The Central Park redevelopment on the old brewery site delivered 1,426 apartments, including One Central Park, finished in 2013, while the eastern former Grace Bros building became student accommodation. We look after power point additions, lighting, appliance circuits and fault finding inside apartments, always working with strata.

Broadway Shopping Centre, opened in 1998 inside a 1923 Grace Bros building, houses major retailers, a 12-screen Hoyts and a 500-seat food court. UTS, Notre Dame and small shopfronts line the rest of the road. We deliver tenancy fit-out wiring, food outlet circuits, lighting upgrades and scheduled maintenance for these businesses.

Broadway gets our same-day service along its full length, from Harris Street out to Victoria Park. Common urgent calls: a food court tenancy losing its fridge circuit, a shop’s lighting failing before opening, or an apartment board in Central Park tripping with no obvious cause.
Most of our Broadway work comes from businesses and apartment residents. Retailers and food outlets need circuits added, moved or repaired as tenancies change, and building managers in the Central Park towers call about faults inside individual apartments. Owners along Kensington Street, where old terraces and warehouses have been adapted for new uses, ask for wiring that respects the heritage fabric. Acting as your Broadway electrician, we fit into each building’s access rules.
The road’s history adds variety. Buildings here range from brutalist university towers to 1920s department store shells and some of Sydney’s newest apartment blocks. Whether you need LED downlights for a shopfront or an emergency electrician for a sudden outage, our team is nearby, working daily across the City of Sydney.

The Central Park redevelopment delivered 1,426 apartments across several towers. We handle lighting, power and fault tracing inside each lot while leaving risers and shared plant to building management.
Broadway Shopping Centre and nearby shopfronts house retailers and food outlets. We add circuits for fridges and cooking equipment, rework lighting and fix nuisance tripping around trading hours.
Terraces and warehouses along Kensington Street have been adapted for new uses. We install modern wiring and lighting while keeping visible changes to original brickwork and timber to a minimum.
Student accommodation and rented apartments sit close to UTS and Notre Dame. Landlords book us for smoke alarm upgrades, RCD testing and written records between tenancies.

Broadway’s blend of apartment towers, retail tenancies and adapted heritage buildings is routine ground for our licensed crew, from old brick to modern high-rise systems.

Pricing happens after we look, and we put it in writing. A food court circuit and an apartment lighting change in One Central Park each get their own firm figure.

A shop that cannot open because its lighting failed, or an apartment left without power, moves up our list so we reach you as quickly as the day allows.

Shop owners, apartment residents and building managers along Broadway sit among our 250+ customers, often referred to us by the business next door.

Labour on every circuit we install, whether in a Broadway shopfront or a Central Park apartment, carries a lifetime guarantee from our team.

Give us the building name, the floor and any loading dock or security arrangements. We schedule a time before trading, between classes or when your apartment is free.

Having seen the tenancy or apartment, we explain what is needed in plain language and email a fixed figure, so owners, managers and tenants all see the same number.

Broadway traffic can be slow, so we plan parking via Bay Street or a nearby car park and arrive in the window agreed. If we are late, we phone first.

Work areas are cleaned, packaging is removed and ceilings are closed up. You receive the CCEW and a short summary of exactly what changed.

Broadway quickly became a regular part of our week after Spyro opened the business in 2017. The strip suits a team that can move from a shopping centre tenancy to a converted Kensington Street warehouse and then an apartment tower in a single day. Our five-plus licensed electricians handle retail fit-outs, apartment repairs, lighting upgrades and faults for businesses and residents all along Broadway.

Broadway was once a major retailing centre, home to the Grace Bros flagship for 90 years, and today Broadway Shopping Centre alone houses major retailers, a 12-screen cinema and a 500-seat food court. Tenancies change often, so shop and food outlet wiring is the work this strip needs most.

A Broadway visit is never closed off without our Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, which the state mandates, whether it is a food court circuit or an apartment light. In older buildings such as the former department store or Kensington Street warehouses, wiring we disturb is upgraded or flagged in writing. Altering a board brings AS/NZS 3000 RCD requirements onto its final subcircuits, while fresh installations have excluded Type AC units from 1 May 2023.
Before a single cable moves, you hold our fixed figure on paper. Rates quoted over the phone rarely suit Broadway, because adding a power point in a modern Central Park apartment is straightforward, while wiring a new food tenancy involves centre rules, supply checks and ceiling access. We inspect first, then commit to one figure.
Fitting out a new shop on Broadway, sorting a tripping circuit in your food outlet, or updating lighting in a Central Park apartment? Dial 02 8999 3691; a licensed member of our team assesses the site, writes up a firm price, and our workmanship stays covered for life.
Broadway shop owners, food outlet operators, apartment residents and landlords ask us these questions most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Usually. Weekday bookings run 7am through 5:30pm and Saturdays 7am through 2pm, and Broadway lies on routes we drive daily between the CBD and the inner west. Call 02 8999 3691 early to improve your chances of a same-day visit. Safety risks such as burning smells or total power loss take priority over routine jobs.
We price after seeing the work, because jobs vary widely here. A new light in an apartment is simple, while a food tenancy may need supply upgrades, dedicated circuits and centre approvals. After inspecting, we provide a fixed written price that changes only if you ask for additional work.
Yes. We plan circuits for cooking equipment, fridges, coffee machines, lighting and signage, check the tenancy’s supply capacity, and install exit and emergency lighting where required. Broadway Shopping Centre and other buildings along the road have strict contractor procedures, and we complete inductions and permits beforehand so the job stays on schedule.
Usually, wiring from your apartment’s own board into its rooms is the lot owner’s responsibility, while main switchrooms, risers, lobbies and car park lighting belong to the owners corporation. With 1,426 apartments across Central Park, we trace these faults often and provide a written finding so the right party arranges the repair.
Yes. Kensington Street’s terraces and warehouses have been adaptively reused, so electrical work must respect original brickwork, timber and facades. We route new cabling discreetly, avoid visible changes on street-facing elevations and discuss approvals with you. For listed buildings, check with the City of Sydney before major changes.
Rentals must have an alarm working on every level; once a tenant flags a fault, you have two business days to fix it, a decade from manufacture is the upper age limit, and only licensed electricians wire in mains-powered units. Near UTS and Notre Dame, tenancies change often, so we offer smoke alarm testing and dated records at each changeover.
Often, with strata approval. Where your building has a basement car space, we assess the building’s spare capacity, discuss metering options with building management and install a dedicated charger circuit once consent is granted. Without a private bay, kerbside charging on Broadway itself is not something we can supply.
Yes. Older Broadway tenancies can still run older fluorescent or halogen fittings. We replace them with efficient LED lighting, rezone switching to suit the layout and add feature lighting for displays, which can cut running costs and improve how the space looks.
Every electrician on our team is licensed and insured. Spyro founded the company in 2017, and we have since completed more than 7,000 projects for over 250 customers. Our labour is guaranteed for life, so if something we installed on Broadway fails due to our workmanship, we come back and fix it at no charge.
We cover all of Broadway 2007, including Broadway Shopping Centre, UniLodge on Broadway, Central Park, One Central Park, Chippendale Green, Kensington Street, the UTS and Notre Dame precincts, Bay Street, Mountain Street and Victoria Park. We also work daily in Ultimo, Chippendale, Glebe, Railway Square, Forest Lodge, Camperdown, Darlington, Haymarket and across the City of Sydney.
