Renting a terrace off Edgeware Road, pouring beers near the Enmore Theatre, or owning a flat above an Enmore Road shop? Our Enmore offers cover London Street, Reiby Street and the old post office corner too. Mention this deal on the phone and we honour it at invoice.

Enmore packs 3,871 people into under half a square kilometre, and its homes are mostly attached. At the 2021 Census, 46.2 per cent of dwellings were semi-detached, row or terrace houses, roughly four times the NSW rate, with 32.3 per cent flats and only 17.3 per cent separate houses. Dense building followed the 1883 subdivision of the Enmore House estate into 530 lots. We handle terrace rewiring, board upgrades in narrow hallways, and new circuits for kitchens squeezed into rear lean-tos.

Enmore Road is the spine, a strip of Victorian shopfronts running off King Street, home to the Sly Fox pub, specialty stores and entertainment venues, anchored by the Enmore Theatre. A TAFE design campus occupies the former boys high school site. We provide commercial electrical upgrades, bar and kitchen circuits, lighting and planned maintenance around late trade.

Enmore gets same-day service from our crew, from Stanmore Road to the Newtown end of Enmore Road. Urgent calls we see here: a century-old terrace losing half its circuits in wet weather, a restaurant cool room dropping out before dinner, and dead stair lights in a converted terrace block.
Almost half of Enmore homes are rented, 49.5 per cent at the 2021 Census, so landlords, agents and tenants make up a big share of our Enmore bookings. Agents need alarms and RCDs checked between leases, owners want Victorian and Federation terraces made safer without spoiling original detail, and venue operators along Enmore Road need more capacity for kitchens and cold rooms. As your Enmore electrician we also look after small studios and shopfronts with flats above.
Working space is tight. Terraces share walls, meter boxes often sit on narrow front verandahs, and parking near the Enmore Theatre disappears on show nights. We plan access carefully, carry compact gear and keep the mess contained. Whether it is a board fault in a Reiby Street flat or an emergency callout for a bar losing power on a Friday, we respond quickly here and anywhere across the Inner West.

Row and terrace houses make up 46.2 per cent of Enmore homes. We replace brittle cable, add earthing and new circuits while protecting cornices, ceiling roses and street-facing facades.
With 49.5 per cent of dwellings rented, property managers book us at lease changeover to swap out-of-date smoke alarms, trip-test RCDs and hand over signed, dated sheets.
Enmore Road carries a dense run of venues around the Enmore Theatre. We add dedicated kitchen and refrigeration circuits, upgrade lighting and schedule work away from service and show times.
About one in five Enmore dwellings is a studio or one-bedroom home, many in converted terraces or shop-top flats. We untangle shared supplies and separate lot faults from common property.

We have pulled up floorboards in many Enmore terraces and shop-top flats, and knows how wiring added over a century snakes through shared brick walls and lath-and-plaster ceilings.

We inspect before quoting, then commit to one written number. A studio flat off Stanmore Road and a two-storey London Street terrace get separate quotes, since access and cable paths vary widely.

If an Enmore Road bar loses power before doors open or a rented terrace has a smoking outlet, that call moves up our list and the nearest van is sent over.

Enmore renters, terrace owners and Enmore Road operators make up a steady part of our 250+ customers, often referred by a property manager or a neighbouring shop on the strip.

Lifetime cover applies to our labour on each Enmore circuit, whether in a terrace, flat or shopfront, including rewires hidden behind restored plaster and joinery.

Let us know the street and the way in, such as a rear lane, a shared hallway or a locked meter box. We then book a slot around your shifts, tenants or trading.

Once we have tested the board and traced the cable paths, we explain the work plainly and email a single fixed figure you can pass to your landlord or strata.

Street parking near Enmore Road is scarce, especially on theatre nights, so we plan the van spot ahead. If we run late, you get a call with a new time.

Drop sheets go over floorboards and stair runners, offcuts leave with us, and you receive your certificate plus a short note on what changed in your terrace or shop.

What began with Spyro in 2017 is now a five-plus crew of licensed electricians. Enmore keeps us busy because so much is packed into a few streets: Victorian terraces, converted flats, the theatre precinct and a long run of bars and eateries. We stay careful with heritage fabric, clear with landlords and quick for venues that cannot trade in the dark. One electrician runs your job from first look to final sign-off.

Spyro on the line. If your Enmore terrace still runs on old fuses, or your Enmore Road venue keeps tripping at the busiest hour, dial 02 8999 3691 and I’ll book a licensed sparky from our Inner West crew to look it over.

Enmore’s housing was largely built after the Enmore House estate was cut into 530 building sites in 1883, and today 46.2 per cent of homes are semi-detached, row or terrace houses. Many still have boards on a front verandah or in a cramped hallway, with few or no RCDs, making switchboard upgrades our most quoted job in Enmore.

NSW requires a CCEW for every regulated electrical job, and each Enmore visit ends with one. Terraces cut from the Enmore House estate can hide three or four generations of cable, and anything we open up is either corrected or listed on a note to the owner. Swap or modify a board and AS/NZS 3000 demands RCD cover across every final subcircuit; Type AC units have been barred from fresh work from 1 May 2023.
Every Enmore quote is a fixed written figure given after we look, not a phone estimate. Similar requests can differ hugely here: new lights in a renovated studio flat might take an hour or two, while the same fittings in a two-storey Victorian terrace can mean lifting floorboards, working in a tight roof space and chasing brick party walls. Inspecting first keeps the number accurate.
Old fuse board in an Edgeware Road terrace, an agent chasing smoke alarm paperwork, or a venue on Enmore Road needing more power before opening night? Ring 02 8999 3691 for a licensed electrician to inspect on site and quote one written fixed price, with lifetime labour cover.
Enmore renters, landlords, terrace owners and Enmore Road venue operators ask us these most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Quite often. We run weekday jobs from 7am until 5:30pm and Saturday jobs from 7am until 2pm, with Sundays off. Enmore sits between Newtown, Stanmore and Marrickville, all suburbs we visit constantly, so calling 02 8999 3691 early usually gets someone there that day. A burning smell, sparks or a main switch that trips instantly gets bumped to the top of our schedule.
We set a price only after seeing the job. Enmore properties range from compact studio flats to two-storey Victorian terraces and venues on Enmore Road, and each involves different access, cable runs and patching. Once we have looked, you get a written fixed figure. It changes only if you decide to add extra work along the way.
It depends how much has been replaced. Enmore’s terraces largely date from the decades after 1883, and many have been rewired in stages. We often find cloth or rubber insulated cable joined to newer PVC, missing earths and ceramic fuses with no RCDs. We test each circuit, show you what is sound and quote either a full rewire or targeted fixes.
Usually the main board, meter panel, shared hallway and stair lighting are common property, while wiring from your own unit board into your rooms is yours. In Enmore, many older buildings were split into flats over the years, so boundaries can be messy. Our job is to pin down where the fault lives, then put that answer on paper for both you and the owners corporation.
Yes, for some properties. Stanmore House at 88 Enmore Road is on the State Heritage Register, the Enmore Theatre is a local heritage item, and the Federation house at 75 London Street is listed by Inner West Council. Internal rewiring is usually fine, but we keep new meter boxes, conduit and exterior lights off street elevations. Check with council before any visible change.
Each storey needs a live alarm, a tenant’s fault report starts a two-business-day repair clock, and any alarm past ten years from its build stamp comes out. Mains-wired units are licensed-electrician territory. As 49.5 per cent of Enmore dwellings are rented, we do many alarm testing runs between tenancies and leave dated records for agents.
Usually not at the kerb. Enmore averages 1.1 vehicles per dwelling and most terraces have no driveway, so a charger generally needs a rear lane garage or a car space in a newer block. Given a bay, we confirm board headroom, lay a separate feed to that space and mount the unit. We cannot install chargers on public footpaths.
Yes. Enmore Road is an entertainment strip, and many of its venues sit in Victorian buildings wired long before commercial kitchens and cold rooms. We plan circuits for cooking equipment, refrigeration and LED lighting, fit exit and emergency lights, and handle venue fit-outs, working outside trading hours so service carries on.
Yes. No one reaches an Enmore job without a current NSW electrical licence and insurance, a rule Spyro has kept since opening in 2017. Each job comes with a compliance certificate, and our labour carries a lifetime guarantee, so any connection we made that fails later is fixed at no charge.
