Beauty Point began as Billy Goat Point, a finger of land pushing into Middle Harbour, and took its present name when it was carved into building blocks. The estate was released in 1928 with roughly 120 lots, and memoirs of its early years describe modest bungalows and two-bedroom cottages. Where those interwar houses survive, their circuits are often near a century old; where they have been replaced, bigger homes chase harbour views. We handle whole-house rewiring and new lighting for both.

Beauty Point is almost entirely residential. Our non-domestic calls here come from Beauty Point Public School, the St Thérèse Catholic church, and residents who run a business from a home office. The nearest shopping strip is at Spit Junction, which we also service. For home-based businesses we provide data cabling, dedicated circuits and reliable office lighting.

Same-day service is available across Beauty Point, down Pearl Bay Avenue to the water and along Beauty Point Road and Bay Street. Typical urgent faults here include salt-damaged outdoor lights tripping the house, a failed pool pump circuit, and power loss in an older bungalow after heavy rain.
Our Beauty Point clients are mostly homeowners on a quiet peninsula surrounded by Middle Harbour, with Pearl Bay tucked along one flank. Some live in original interwar bungalows from the 1928 estate; others have rebuilt and want lighting, automation and outdoor power to match the view. As your Beauty Point electrician we handle upgrades to old boards, pool and garden circuits, and ceiling fans for rooms that catch the afternoon sun off the water.
Blocks drop towards the water and Quakers Hat Reserve keeps bush close to the houses, so access and cable routes need thought. We arrive ready for narrow driveways and long garden stairs. A quick fitting swap and an urgent power fault both get the same attention we give homes across the North Shore.

The Beauty Point estate was released in 1928, and early homes were modest bungalows and cottages. We update their old wiring, replace fuse boards and add earthing without disturbing original timber features.
Homes surrounded by Middle Harbour face constant salt exposure. We install marine-grade outdoor lights and outlets, seal all connections, and replace corroded fittings before they cause faults or tripping.
Many harbour homes have pools, decks and outdoor kitchens. We run dedicated circuits for pumps and heaters, install weatherproof outlets, and add the equipotential bonding pools require under the wiring rules.
Quakers Hat Reserve keeps harbour-front bushland close to Beauty Point homes. After storms we check outdoor wiring for damage from falling branches, and fit surge protection to protect sensitive electronics.

Our licensed electricians understand interwar bungalows from the 1928 Beauty Point estate and the larger harbour homes that followed, and plan each job around old framing and steep sites.

After inspecting the job we send one fixed figure in writing. An upgrade in a compact Bay Street cottage is priced differently from new lighting in a multi-level waterfront home.

If a storm knocks out power in your Pearl Bay Avenue home or the pool circuit fails, we arrange a visit the same day so your home is safe and running again.

Beauty Point homeowners are among our 250+ customers, and many have recommended us to neighbours after we sorted outdoor lighting, pool circuits or an old switchboard.

We guarantee our labour for life on every Beauty Point job. If a fitting or connection we installed near the water ever fails because of our work, we return and fix it free.

Let us know your street and how the front door is reached: steep drive, stairs or a shared path. We then pick a time that sits comfortably with your week.

Our electrician checks the board, the affected circuits and any outdoor areas, then emails a written fixed price. Nothing starts until you say yes to it.

Beauty Point streets are narrow with limited parking, so we plan where the van will go. We arrive in the agreed window and call if we are running behind.

Once finished, we clean up inside and out, take away all waste, test every circuit, and email your compliance certificate so your records stay complete.

Since Spyro started the business in 2017, we have grown to five-plus licensed electricians working across Sydney. Beauty Point jobs appeal to us because they need care: interwar homes from the late 1920s with ageing wiring, modern harbour houses with complex lighting and pool equipment, and steep sites where access takes planning. The electrician who quotes your job is the one who completes it, so you always know who is in your home.

Beauty Point is a peninsula surrounded by Middle Harbour, with Pearl Bay on its flank, so most gardens and decks sit within reach of harbour air. Pool pumps, deck lighting and garden power all sit close to salt air, so they need the right design and protection.

Each Beauty Point job closes out with a CCEW, the compliance certificate NSW law demands from every licensed electrician. Inside homes built on the 1928 estate, old cable we touch is either renewed or described in a written note, so you know its state. Swapping or modifying a board brings in the AS/NZS 3000 rule that final subcircuits carry RCD protection, and Type AC devices have been ruled out for fresh installations since 1 May 2023.
We give a fixed price in writing only after we have seen the job. Replacing a few light fittings in a small bungalow on Bay Street is quick and simple. Running new circuits to a pool and deck in a multi-level home above Pearl Bay involves more time, materials and access planning. Inspecting first means the quote reflects your actual job, not a rough guess.
Pool circuit on the wish list, outdoor lights losing the fight with salt, or a fuse panel in a 1928 Beauty Point bungalow still hanging on? Ring 02 8999 3691. One of our licensed electricians will inspect on site, put an exact fixed figure on paper and back every hour of labour for life.
Beauty Point homeowners, pool owners and families renovating older houses ask us these questions most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Quite often. Our vans are out from 7am until 5:30pm on weekdays and from 7am until 2pm on Saturday, and Lower North Shore jobs fill much of our week. Ring 02 8999 3691 before lunch and an afternoon visit to Beauty Point is often possible. Mention any sparking, scorching or a complete blackout inside the house, because those jump the queue.
We look at the job first. In Beauty Point, the same request can vary a lot: adding lights in a small single-storey bungalow is usually quick, but running power down long garden stairs to a pool takes more time and materials. After inspecting, we send you a written fixed price that does not change unless you add work.
It may. The estate was released in 1928, so original homes can have wiring nearly a century old, including rubber-insulated cable and ceramic fuses. We test insulation and earthing to see what can stay and what should be replaced. If you are renovating, it is best to rewire before plastering and painting so walls and ceilings are only opened once.
Yes. We install dedicated circuits for pool pumps, heaters and lighting, with correct isolation, RCD protection and equipotential bonding. On steep Beauty Point blocks, pool equipment is often below the house, so we plan the cable route carefully and use weatherproof enclosures that stand up to salt air from the harbour.
Beauty Point is almost surrounded by Middle Harbour, so salt in the air attacks metal fittings and lets moisture into connections. This often causes the safety switch to trip. We replace failing lights with stainless steel or marine-grade fittings, seal cable entries, and make sure outdoor circuits have the right protection so problems do not return.
Stay clear of any fallen wires and wet fittings, and turn off the main switch if it is safe to do so. If a line is down or there is fire, call 000. If the whole street is dark, report it to Ausgrid on 13 13 88. Then call us, and we will make your property safe and repair the damage on your side of the meter.
Look for three warning signs: ceramic fuse carriers, no RCDs, or no spare slots left for new circuits. Any one of them usually justifies a switchboard upgrade. Beyond safety, a modern board gives a pool pump, split system or car charger somewhere to connect. Before energising it, we insulation-test the circuits it will feed, because a bungalow from the late 1920s can still hide cable that should not stay in service.
In most cases it is. First we confirm the board and supply have room for the extra draw, then we lay a dedicated protected circuit to the garage or carport wall. Houses already running a pool pump or ducted air may need load management so everything shares the supply sensibly. Where the driveway drops towards the harbour, we mount the unit high and dry, away from runoff and car doors.
Yes. Older bungalows from the estate’s early years rarely have enough outlets for a modern desk setup. We add dedicated circuits for computers, install data points for reliable internet, fit good task lighting, and add surge protection to protect equipment. We can also run power to a garden studio or converted garage.
We cover all of Beauty Point within postcode 2088, including Beauty Point Road, Bay Street, Pearl Bay Avenue, Medusa Street, Quakers Hat Road and the streets near Quakers Hat Reserve and Beauty Point Public School. We also work in nearby Mosman, Balmoral, Clifton Gardens, Cremorne, Seaforth, Clontarf, Balgowlah Heights and Northbridge.
