Own a split-level off Mona Vale Road, a townhouse near the Village Green or a shop inside St Ives Shopping Village? Our seasonal deals also stretch to homes around Hassall Park, Acron Oval and Hunter Avenue. Bring up the deal when you ring and we credit it to your quote.

St Ives grew fastest after the Second World War, spreading from the shops and main roads out to ridges and gullies above Garigal and Ku-ring-gai Chase. The 2021 Census counted 66.1 per cent separate houses and an average of 3.5 bedrooms, with 53.6 per cent of homes holding four or more. Big post-war and 1970s family homes mean long cable runs, tired boards and outdoor power. We do board replacements, LED lighting refits and extra circuits for home offices and pool equipment.

Commercial life centres on St Ives Shopping Village, a 1960s centre that now holds more than 100 stores, including Coles, Woolworths and Harris Farm. We maintain tenancy boards, refrigeration circuits and lighting for retailers there, plus clubs, childcare centres and school buildings spread along Mona Vale Road.

Our same-day service covers St Ives from the Wildflower Garden end of Mona Vale Road down to the East Killara border. Typical urgent jobs: a storm-soaked outdoor circuit tripping the house, a failed pool pump feed, a scorched switchboard in a 1970s brick home, or half the lights dead after a tree strike.
Families make up most of our St Ives bookings. The Census recorded 54.5 per cent of families as couples with kids, and those households run dishwashers, dryers, heaters and home offices at once, so old circuits struggle. Owners ask us to add power to garages, rewire rumpus rooms and fit ceiling fans in bedrooms that face the western sun. As your St Ives electrician we also look after retirees downsizing into the unit blocks near the Village Green.
The work changes by street. Near the shopping village it leans toward apartment boards and townhouse strata issues, while bush-edge blocks toward Garigal need weatherproof outdoor lighting and sturdy feeds to sheds and studios. When a tree comes down on a line during a summer storm, we answer as an emergency electrician and isolate what is unsafe inside the property. That mix keeps us busy right across the North Shore.

Most St Ives houses went up after 1950 as families moved in. Four-bedroom plans with added rumpus rooms often run on original circuits, so we test insulation, add earths and separate heavy appliances onto their own lines.
Streets backing onto Garigal and Ku-ring-gai Chase national parks see falling limbs and wind-driven rain. We fit sealed outdoor fittings, protect external runs and check boards after storms.
Flats make up 26.1 per cent of St Ives dwellings, many clustered near the shopping village. We repair unit boards, sort lot versus common property faults and liaise with strata managers.
With over 100 stores, St Ives Shopping Village keeps retailers refitting. We add circuits for new layouts, replace display lighting and keep cold room supply stable during trading.

Our licensed electricians know the brick and timber homes that spread across St Ives after 1950, including the quirks of split-level layouts where boards hide in garages and under stairs.

Before any work begins we inspect, then send a single written figure. A Village Green unit and a five-bedroom house on a sloping bush block get separate, honest quotes.

A storm-damaged outdoor circuit near Garigal or a burning smell from a Mona Vale Road home gets priority in our daily schedule, so families are not left in the dark.

Over 250 customers rate our work, and plenty of St Ives bookings arrive through school parents at Brigidine, Masada or St Ives High recommending us to each other.

Every cable we run in a St Ives house, unit or shop carries labour cover for life, including circuits buried in brick walls and ceiling cavities that are hard to reach later.

Pick a slot around school pick-ups or sport at Hassall Park. Mention whether the driveway is steep or shared, and we will plan the van and tools to match.

We look at the board, walk the property and explain the choices. Then you receive a fixed written figure, and it only shifts if you ask us for extra work.

Our vans come up Mona Vale Road or Archbold Road and arrive inside the window we promised. If traffic on the A3 slows us, we phone you with an updated time.

Floor covers go down before drilling, offcuts and packaging leave in our van, and your compliance certificate arrives with a short summary of what we changed.

Nearby suburbs we also serve

Spyro started the business in 2017, and today five-plus licensed electricians work under his name, with St Ives now a steady part of our run north of Gordon. The suburb rewards patient work: big family homes, long ceiling spaces, steep driveways and gardens that back onto national park. We rewire, upgrade boards, add EV circuits in double garages and service shops at the village. One team handles each booking from first visit through to the paperwork.

Spyro speaking. If your St Ives board still has ceramic fuses, or the pool pump keeps tripping power in the house, call me on 02 8999 3691 and we will send a licensed electrician up to check it.

St Ives averages 1.9 vehicles per dwelling, and 53.6 per cent of homes have four or more bedrooms, so garages and long driveways are the norm. Many of those houses also have boards that predate any thought of charging a car overnight.

A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued for every job we finish in St Ives, as NSW requires. Many houses here were built in the decades after 1950 and extended since, so we often find mixed old and new wiring. When we change a switchboard, AS/NZS 3000 means residual current protection on all final subcircuits, and Type AC devices have been barred from new work since 1 May 2023.
We give a written fixed figure once we have seen the job. Guessing by phone does not work in St Ives: new lights in a compact unit beside the Village Green can be a short visit, but the same fit-out in a split-level house on a steep block toward Garigal may involve tight roof spaces and long runs. So we inspect, explain, and commit to one price.
Planning an EV charger for the garage, sick of a pool pump that trips the house, or ready to swap an old fuse board in your St Ives home? Ring 02 8999 3691. A licensed electrician will visit, give you a written fixed figure and back the labour for life.
St Ives families, retirees, unit owners and village retailers ask us these questions most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often, yes. We work 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm on Saturday, and St Ives sits on routes our team drives through the week. Call 02 8999 3691 in the morning and we can usually slot you in the same day. Burning smells, a main switch that will not reset or wiring hit by a fallen branch jump ahead of routine bookings.
We do not quote blind. Two jobs that sound alike can differ a lot here: a new circuit in a single-level brick house with an easy roof is quick, while the same circuit in a split-level on a sloping block may need extra access and longer cable. We visit, look at the board and the route, and then send you a fixed written price that holds unless you change the scope.
Not always, but it needs checking. Homes from the post-war boom often kept their original rubber or early PVC cable while kitchens, rumpus rooms and air conditioning were added over time. We test insulation resistance, confirm earthing and look at how extensions were connected. Sometimes only a few circuits need replacing; sometimes a staged rewire makes more sense. You get a written report either way.
Blocks bordering Garigal or Ku-ring-gai Chase national parks see branches falling on outdoor cables, water getting into garden lights and possums chewing through roof wiring. We fit sealed outdoor fittings, protect exposed runs in conduit and make sure outdoor circuits have RCD protection. After a big storm, we can check that nothing outside the house is live or damaged before your family uses the garden again.
Yes. Plenty of St Ives blocks have pools, studios or large sheds at the back. We run a correctly sized submain from the house board, install a small sub-board at the outbuilding where needed and set up pump, filter and lighting circuits to the relevant standards. Trenching routes are planned around tree roots and garden beds so the result is safe and neat.
It depends where the fault sits. Wiring from your own unit board to your rooms normally belongs to the lot owner, while the main board, meter room, hallway lights and car park lighting usually belong to the owners corporation. Flats make up about a quarter of St Ives dwellings, mostly near the shopping village. We find the fault and give both you and the strata manager a clear written note.
Yes. Most St Ives houses have a garage or carport, and many households run two cars. We check the spare capacity of your supply and board, then install a charger on its own circuit with correct protection. If your board is old or full, we can quote an upgrade at the same visit. We install the charger on your property only; street or kerbside charging is outside our work.
We do. The village has more than 100 stores, and tenants regularly refit layouts, add equipment and change lighting. We run new circuits, supply commercial electrical maintenance, replace fittings and check emergency and exit lights. Noisy or shutdown work is booked around trading hours in consultation with centre management.
In larger St Ives homes this often points to a loose connection, an overloaded circuit or a board that was never sized for ducted air, a pool and an induction cooktop together. It should be checked, because loose connections heat up. We test the circuit under load, tighten or replace failing parts and tell you whether a board upgrade is worth doing.
All of St Ives 2075, including the shopping village, the Village Green, Memorial Avenue, Cowan Road, Mona Vale Road, Archbold Road, Hunter Avenue, Hassall Park, Acron Oval, Mimosa Oval and the streets near the Wildflower Garden. We also work every week in East Killara, North Turramurra, Warrawee, Wahroonga, Terrey Hills, Belrose, Killarney Heights, Lindfield and Davidson.
