Lighting, power points, ceiling fans, switchboard and safety switch upgrades, smoke alarms, rewiring and fault finding – we look after every part of a home’s electrical system. Botany housing runs from post-war brick homes and semis through to walk-up flats and newer apartments, with 50.5 per cent of occupied dwellings recorded as flats or apartments and 27.8 per cent separate houses at the 2021 Census. We handle switchboard replacements, RCD protection, rewires, power points, lighting, hot water and fault finding, and every job is tested and certified.

Botany is a working suburb with warehouses, transport yards, workshops and shops sitting alongside the housing. We look after three-phase distribution boards, sub-mains, machine and compressor circuits, high bay and dock lighting, shop and cafe fit-outs, and scheduled maintenance for operators who cannot afford downtime. We cover fit-outs, three-phase supply, data cabling, emergency and exit lighting, and maintenance planned around your trading hours.

When a safety switch will not reset, a board is arcing or half the property has gone dark, you need someone who can find it rather than guess. We attend, isolate the fault, make the installation safe, and quote the repair before we carry it out.
At Olympic Electrical, we are proud to be the electricians Botany families, strata committees and business owners trust. Every job is handled by fully licensed tradespeople with years of experience behind them and a standard of work we stand by.
Whether it is a straightforward installation, a switchboard upgrade, power out to a shed or studio, or an emergency electrician at short notice, we are equipped for it. We are more than just electricians – we are the local electrician experts across the Eastern Suburbs, for every job big and small.
We are just a call away – wherever you are in Botany, from the Botany Road shops and Booralee Street through to Beauchamp Road, The Esplanade, Sir Joseph Banks Park, Mill Pond and East Botany, we get an electrician to you fast.

Lights flicker when the kettle and heater run together, or old ceramic fuses blow on a Sunday night. We test the circuits, replace the tired switchboard with a modern board, and fit RCD protection so faults trip instead of smouldering.
Half of Botany homes are flats, and unit boards are often the original small panel with no RCD. We replace the lot switchboard, sort out failing kitchen and bathroom circuits, and coordinate access with the strata manager before we start.
Double adaptors behind the lounge and a laundry running off one point are the usual signs a post-war home has outgrown its wiring. We add properly rated circuits and power points, then test and certify every one before we leave.
Part of Botany sits inside the Botany Township heritage conservation area, and those older cottages can still hold rubber or fabric wiring with no earth. We test it, stage the rewire room by room, and keep cornices intact.

All our electricians are fully licensed, insured, and continuously trained to stay current with industry standards. We bring years of hands-on experience to every project, making sure your electrical work is done safely and to the highest possible standard.

From the first quote to the final invoice, you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for. Our clear communication and honest approach help you plan your project with complete confidence.

When something goes wrong, it goes to the front of the queue. Our electricians respond quickly and offer same-day service, so power and safety are restored without a long wait.

We’re proud to be a top-rated Sydney electrician, with 250+ happy customers and a long list of five-star reviews behind us. That reputation is built on turning up, doing the job properly and standing behind it.

We back the quality of our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee. This means you can have total confidence knowing that if any issues arise due to our work, we’ll return promptly to make it right — no extra cost, no hassle.

Booking us is easy — call, send an email, or fill out our quick online form, and we will find a time that works around your day. Our friendly team responds promptly and takes the time to understand exactly what you need.

Once we understand the scope of your project, we’ll provide a detailed and transparent quote outlining all costs upfront. We believe in honesty and clear communication, ensuring there are no hidden fees or last-minute surprises.

We turn up inside the window we promised, and if anything changes you hear from us first. Our electricians are punctual, prepared and respectful of your home or business from the moment they arrive.

Our electricians treat every property — whether it’s a home or business — with the utmost respect. We work efficiently, maintain a tidy workspace, and thoroughly clean up after the job is completed.

Olympic Electrical started in 2017 with one van, a licence and a simple promise: turn up when we say we will, and charge what we quoted. Spyro still runs the business the same way today, and the team has grown to five-plus licensed electricians working across Sydney and through Botany and the Eastern Suburbs every week.
You deal with tradespeople, not a call centre. The electrician who quotes your job is the electrician who does it, the site is left clean, and the workmanship is backed by a lifetime labour guarantee. That is how we have built a base of more than 250 happy customers and thousands of completed jobs.

Botany is not a purely residential suburb, and the electrical work reflects that. Behind the houses sit container-ready warehouses, transport yards and process plant, and that means three-phase boards, sub-mains, motor circuits and lighting on a scale most domestic electricians do not touch.

Every job we finish in Botany is tested, and we issue a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work as NSW requires, so you hold written proof the work meets AS/NZS 3000. Type AC devices have been banned in new electrical work in NSW since 1 May 2023, so any board we touch gets the correct RCD type. We are licensed and insured, and we do not sign off on anything we would not live with.
We quote the job, and the fixed price is agreed before work starts. We look at the actual switchboard, the actual ceiling space and the actual cable runs, then tell you what the whole thing costs, including materials and certification. No hourly meter running, no surprise items at the end. If we open a wall and find something nobody could have known about, we stop and you decide.
Whether it is a switchboard upgrade, new lighting or a full rewire at home, or a fit-out, three-phase supply and planned maintenance for your business, our licensed electricians handle it end to end. You get a fixed price agreed before we start, a tidy site when we leave, and a lifetime labour guarantee on every job across Botany and the Eastern Suburbs.
The questions we hear most from Botany homeowners, apartment residents and strata committees. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Yes, in most cases. We work 7am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 2pm Saturday, and Botany is inside our core Bayside and Eastern Suburbs run, so a dead circuit, a tripping safety switch or a burnt power point usually gets seen the same day. Call 02 8999 3691 and tell us what has failed. If we cannot get there the same day, we will say so on the phone rather than leave you waiting.
We do not publish prices, because a switchboard in a 1950s brick home and a board in a Beauchamp Road warehouse are different jobs. We look at the work, quote it, and the fixed price is agreed before work starts. That price includes materials, testing and the compliance certificate. You will not get an hourly rate that climbs while we are on site, and you will not get a bill that differs from the quote.
Old switchboards. The older post-war brick homes and semis often still run a small board with ceramic fuses or early circuit breakers and no RCD protection on most circuits. The wiring behind it has usually been extended over decades for air conditioning, a renovated kitchen and a granny flat. We test the whole installation, then replace the board and bring the final subcircuits up to AS/NZS 3000.
Half of Botany dwellings are flats, so this comes up constantly. Broadly, wiring and fittings inside your lot are yours, and anything serving the building generally sits with the owners corporation as common property. Where the line falls depends on your strata plan. We attend, identify what has failed and where it sits, and put that in writing so you or your strata manager can act on it.
Yes. We install home and workplace EV chargers, including load management so the charger works with the supply you already have. Type AC devices have been banned in new electrical work in NSW since 1 May 2023, and an EV charging circuit needs Type A or Type B protection depending on the equipment. We check the switchboard and the existing circuits first, then quote the charger, the circuit and the protection as one fixed price.
Yes. Botany sits against Port Botany and a working industrial and logistics belt, including the Botany Bay Industrial Estate on Beauchamp Road, so three-phase distribution boards, sub-mains and machine circuits are ordinary work for us. We install and repair three-phase boards, isolators, motor and compressor circuits, high bay lighting and dock lighting, and we test and certify the lot. We work around shift patterns so the floor keeps running.
Salt air off Botany Bay, plus dust and diesel from the freight roads, is hard on anything mounted outside. Around The Esplanade, Sir Joseph Banks Park and the Mill Pond side we regularly find corroded outdoor power points, rusted-out garden and carport lights and weathered flexible conduit. We replace them with properly rated weatherproof fittings and stainless fixings, and we check the earthing while we are there.
NSW rules for rented homes require at least one working smoke alarm on each storey. Alarms must be repaired or replaced within two business days of the problem being found, hard-wired alarms must be worked on by a licensed electrician, and alarms must be replaced within ten years of manufacture. We handle hard-wired alarm replacement and interconnection for Botany landlords and agents, test everything, and issue documentation for your file.
When we are already on site for a booked job, the safety check is free. We look at the switchboard, confirm whether RCD protection covers the final subcircuits, check the earthing and bonding, test the smoke alarms and look over accessible wiring and fittings. You get a plain summary of what is fine, what should be watched and what needs doing. There is no obligation to book any of it with us.
Yes. Olympic Electrical has been trading since 2017, founder Spyro runs a team of five or more licensed electricians, and we carry insurance. We have looked after more than 250 customers and completed over 7,000 projects. Every job is tested and certified with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, and our labour carries a lifetime guarantee. If our workmanship fails, we come back and fix it.
We cover Botany 2019 and the surrounding Bayside and Eastern Suburbs area, including Banksmeadow, Port Botany, Pagewood, Mascot, Hillsdale, Eastgardens, Matraville, Eastlakes, Daceyville, Kingsford, Kensington, Maroubra, Randwick, Chifley and Phillip Bay. Because those suburbs sit close together, we can usually move between jobs quickly, which is why same-day attendance is realistic.
