Glenfield was surveyed into lots in 1881 but mostly filled in during the 1950s and 1960s, so streets like Cambridge Avenue and Trafalgar Street hold fibro and brick homes now 60 or more years old. Newer duplexes in Panorama and Glenfield Circuit pushed townhouses and semis to 28.1 per cent in 2021, against 11.7 per cent across NSW. We handle rewiring of post-war homes, board swaps and extra circuits for crowded three-bedroom houses.

Commercial work in Glenfield centres on its schools, including Hurlstone Agricultural High School with its farm, the station interchange and small shops. The 2021 rezoning allows for up to 2,900 new jobs. We support commercial clients with lighting, power and fault repairs.

Glenfield homes get same-day service from our Macarthur vans, whether near the station or out by Kennett Park. Usual urgent faults: an old ceramic fuse blowing on a hot afternoon, a duplex losing power to its kitchen, or a damaged cable in a garden.
Glenfield leases out more of its homes than the state average, 33.9 per cent against 32.6, and households average three people. That means lots of property managers and landlords, along with owner families in the newer estates. Common jobs include smoke alarm compliance between tenancies, extra outlets in bedrooms turned into study spaces, and full rewires for 1950s cottages that still run on old cable. As the Glenfield electrician these owners rely on, we keep the paperwork tidy for agents too.
The station interchange draws commuters from north, south, east and west since the Leppington line opened in 2015, and the 2021 rezoning brings thousands of new homes. We expect more urgent call-outs and new builds alike as Glenfield grows, and we cover it with the rest of Macarthur.

Attached housing makes up 28.1 per cent of Glenfield dwellings. We find out which wiring belongs to your lot and which to the scheme, then work with the community association before shutting anything down.
With a third of homes leased, agents book us to replace expired smoke alarms, test RCDs and fix minor faults so a property is ready for the next tenant.
Panorama and Vista at Panorama are community titled with a pool, tennis courts and barbecues. We look after lighting, pump circuits and outdoor power for these shared facilities.
The Glenfield weather station has recorded 41.1 degrees. Heatwaves put split systems, fridges and fans on at once, so we check old boards before new cooling circuits go on.

Post-war Glenfield homes from the 1950s and 1960s are regular work for our licensed electricians, and their old cable, missing earths and fuse boards call for experience rather than guesswork.

We inspect first, then set a fixed figure in writing. A community title duplex in Vista at Panorama and a fibro cottage near Seddon Park are priced on their own merits.

A Glenfield tenant without power, or a board that is hot to the touch, jumps ahead of routine work, and we tell the agent exactly when the van will arrive.

Landlords, agents and owner-occupiers around Glenfield make up a real share of our 250+ customers, many of them referred by a property manager who has used us before.

Our labour on every Glenfield job is guaranteed for life, whether we rewired a post-war cottage completely or added a single circuit to a new duplex.

Book online or call, and tell us if tenants need notice or if the property is in a community title estate with gate access. We fit a slot around those needs.

Once we have seen the board and the wiring, the figure is emailed to you or your agent in writing. It holds unless you approve extra work first.

Commuter parking near Glenfield station fills early, so we plan where the van goes and arrive in the window we gave. If the M5 slows us, you hear from us first.

We clean up, remove old fittings and cable, and email the CCEW with a plain summary. Agents get records ready to drop straight into the landlord file.

Spyro started out in 2017 with a single van, and the crew has since grown to five-plus licensed electricians. Glenfield brings together a lot of what we are good at: rewiring older homes carefully, keeping rentals compliant for busy agents and wiring newer duplexes properly. The suburb is changing quickly, and we like being the crew that understands both the post-war streets and the new estates going up around them.

Glenfield grew mainly in the 1950s and 1960s, and 69.2 per cent of its dwellings are separate houses, many from that period. Wiring of that age often has worn insulation, limited earthing and far too few circuits for modern households.

NSW law requires a CCEW once electrical work is done, and every Glenfield job we complete is certified. In homes from the 1950s and 1960s, disturbing old wiring often exposes unearthed fittings or deteriorated cable, which we either fix or report in writing. A board replacement means residual current devices across the final subcircuits, and we choose Type A or better because Type AC units were ruled out for fresh installations in May 2023.
Glenfield jobs are priced on paper after we inspect, and that figure is what you pay. A new power point in a recent Glenfield Circuit duplex with open roof access is simple, but the same outlet in a low-pitched 1950s cottage on Cambridge Avenue may need rewiring back to the board. We check first so the price reflects the real job.
Whether you manage a Glenfield rental that needs alarms updated, own a post-war home still on its first wiring, or live in a new duplex needing more power, call 02 8999 3691. We will inspect it and give you a clear written price before starting.
Here is what Glenfield landlords, agents, duplex owners and long-time residents most often want to know. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often the same day. Weekday hours run from 7am through to 5:30pm, Saturday from 7am to 2pm, and Sunday is our day off. Glenfield sits on the M5 side of our Macarthur routes, so ringing 02 8999 3691 before mid-morning tends to land a visit that afternoon. Tell us about smoke, a burning smell or a main switch that trips straight back off and you move up the list.
We visit, test and then email a fixed written figure. In Glenfield two homes on the same street can differ widely: one may have been rewired in the 1990s, the other may still run on original 1950s cable. The inspection shows which it is, so the price covers the real work and only changes if you ask for more.
It often does. Cable from that era can have brittle insulation, and many circuits lack earthing or RCD protection. We test each circuit and give you a written finding: what can stay, what should be replaced now and what can wait. A full rewire can often be done through the roof space with little damage to walls.
It depends where the fault is. Wiring from your own board into your home normally belongs to you, while shared lighting, gates, pool equipment and common meter panels generally belong to the scheme. In Panorama and Vista at Panorama, which are community titled, we trace the fault first and give both you and the community manager a written report.
In NSW a rental must have a working alarm on each level. Once a tenant reports a faulty one, the landlord has two business days to fix it, and alarms reaching ten years from their stamped date are swapped out. Wiring in hard-wired units is licensed electrician work only. With 33.9 per cent of Glenfield homes rented, we do many alarm checks for agents and leave dated records for each property.
The precinct was rezoned in July 2021, allowing up to 7,000 new homes and 2,900 jobs over time. If you are planning a knock-down rebuild, granny flat or subdivision, we can advise on power for the new dwelling from your existing supply, within the work our licence covers. Work on the street supply or a new network connection sits outside our scope and needs an accredited service provider.
Yes. We run a correctly sized submain from your main board to the granny flat, fit a sub-board with RCD protection and wire the lighting, outlets, cooking and hot water. We check the existing supply can carry the extra load first. If it cannot, we explain what the network provider will need before the job goes ahead.
We do. Glenfield averages 1.7 vehicles per dwelling, and many newer duplexes have a single garage close to the board. We confirm spare capacity, install a dedicated protected circuit and mount the charger. For community title homes we check with the manager before running cable across shared areas.
Yes. Glenfield has several schools, including Hurlstone Agricultural High School, Glenfield Public School and Glenwood Public School, as well as sporting grounds such as Seddon Park and Blinman Park. We carry out lighting, power and fault repairs for these kinds of sites, scheduled around classes and games.
