Living near Asquith station, Asquith Park on Mills Avenue, the Pacific Highway strip or the bush edge of Ku-ring-gai Chase? This season’s Asquith special is open to you. Bring it up on the phone before we lock in your visit and it goes straight onto the job.

Asquith splits almost evenly between houses and apartments. The 2021 Census recorded 48.4 per cent flats, far above the 21.7 per cent NSW figure, alongside 42.0 per cent separate houses, and 39.3 per cent of dwellings had two bedrooms. The suburb dates from 1915 land sales beside the new railway, and mains power only reached it in 1926, so early cottages on streets like Baldwin Avenue and Victory Street often carry decades of patched wiring. We handle unit board replacements and full rewires in those older homes.

Asquith was zoned industrial under the 1951 County of Cumberland plan, and the Wrigley’s chewing gum plant built from 1958 still operates here. Alongside it sit the Hornsby Maintenance Depot rail yard and the suburb’s other industrial land. For local businesses we provide commercial and light industrial electrical work: machine circuits, three-phase outlets, lighting and fault finding.

Asquith gets our same-day service on every street, from the Pacific Highway units near the station out to homes backing onto Ku-ring-gai Chase. Urgent jobs here include a strata unit whose board keeps tripping, a burnt-out outlet in an older cottage, and a workshop machine circuit that dies mid-shift.
Renters and first-home buyers shape our Asquith workload. The 2021 Census found 35.0 per cent of dwellings rented and 42.2 per cent held with a mortgage, with a median resident age of just 36. Landlords ask for smoke alarm compliance between tenancies, strata committees want common area lighting sorted, and new owners want old cottages made safer before they move in. As your Asquith electrician we also fit appliance circuits and air conditioning for families settling into bigger houses.
The suburb runs from the railway line and the highway east into bushland on the Ku-ring-gai Chase boundary, with Asquith Public School on Dudley Street and the high school on Stokes Avenue in between. That mix of apartments, cottages and factory units means a sudden electrical fault can land anywhere, and we handle it the same way across the North Shore.

Close to half of Asquith dwellings are flats. We replace unit switchboards, repair common area lighting and advise committees on where lot wiring ends and common property wiring begins.
Halloran's 1915 land release gave Asquith its first streets of cottages. Where original homes survive, we upgrade tired wiring and add earthing without disturbing the timber details owners want to keep.
Asquith has held industrial zoning since 1951. We install three-phase outlets, machine isolators and high-bay lighting for workshops, and trace faults quickly so production can restart.
Eastern Asquith borders Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. For homes near the bush we check outdoor fittings after storms, fit sealed lighting and install surge protection for sensitive equipment.

Our licensed team knows Asquith’s blend of early railway-era cottages, apartment blocks and industrial units, and each needs a different approach to cable routes and board access.

We see the job, then write down a single fixed amount. A light fitting in a Pacific Highway unit and a rewire of a Baldwin Avenue cottage are quoted on their own merits.

When a strata board near Asquith station trips out or a workshop loses a machine circuit, we slot the call into that same day’s schedule rather than leaving it for next week.

Our 250+ customers include Asquith landlords, strata managers and small manufacturers, many of whom now call us first for anything electrical in 2077.

Every job we complete in Asquith comes with lifetime labour cover. Should our workmanship in your unit, cottage or factory ever fail, we return and put it right at our cost.

Let us know your street, whether there is visitor parking or a strata key to collect, and your preferred time. We then book a slot that suits your work or tenants.

After checking the board, the meter room and the circuits involved, we send a written fixed price. You know the total before anyone drills a single hole.

Parking on the Pacific Highway is limited, so we plan where the van goes and arrive in the agreed window. If highway traffic runs slow, we phone with an updated time.

We vacuum dust from carpets, clear offcuts out of common areas and send your compliance certificate by email, so strata managers and landlords have the record on file.

Spyro founded the business in 2017, and we have grown to five-plus licensed electricians working across Sydney’s north. Asquith keeps us busy because it asks for a bit of everything: apartment boards and intercom lighting for strata blocks, rewires for cottages from the 1915 land sales, and machine circuits for industrial tenants. The electrician who quotes your job is the one who does it, so you never have to explain the problem twice.

At the 2021 Census, 35.0 per cent of Asquith dwellings were rented, above the 32.6 per cent state rate, and 48.4 per cent were flats. That puts plenty of landlords and strata managers in 2077 under NSW rental smoke alarm rules every time a tenancy changes.

NSW requires a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work after each job, and we issue one for every Asquith visit. For strata units, that record helps committees show the building’s wiring has been tested. Where we change a board, AS/NZS 3000 means residual current protection on all final subcircuits, and we fit Type A or better, because Type AC devices are not allowed in new installations after 1 May 2023.
We give one fixed price in writing, and only after we have seen the work. Adding a circuit in a two-bedroom apartment off the Pacific Highway usually means strata access, a shared meter room and short cable runs. The same request in a separate house near Asquith Park can involve crawling under the floor and running cable through the ceiling. Those differences are why we inspect before committing to a number.
Need a rental smoke alarm check, a unit board swap near Asquith station, or three-phase power for a workshop? Ring 02 8999 3691. A licensed electrician will come out, look at the job, confirm a fixed price in writing, and guarantee the labour for life.
Asquith landlords, strata committees, young homeowners and industrial tenants tend to ask us these questions. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Often we can. Our electricians are on the road from 7am until 5:30pm on weekdays and from 7am until 2pm on Saturday, with Sunday off. Asquith is right beside Hornsby, which we pass through constantly, so a morning call to 02 8999 3691 usually gets someone there that afternoon. Let us know straight away if a board is hot or buzzing so we can prioritise it.
By looking first. Swapping a few fittings in a newer apartment near the station is quick, while rewiring a cottage that has been extended several times since the 1920s takes much longer. After inspecting, we send a written fixed price that covers labour and materials, and it stays put unless you decide to add something.
It depends on where the fault is. Wiring from your unit’s board to your outlets and lights is usually the owner’s responsibility, while the main switchboard, meter room and common area lighting are generally owners corporation property. We check the building’s by-laws and strata plan before quoting, then send the invoice to the right party. We also report any common property problems to your strata manager in writing.
Landlords in NSW must provide a working smoke alarm on each storey, repair a faulty alarm within two business days of being told, and replace alarms within ten years of their manufacture date. Hard-wired alarms must be fitted by a licensed electrician. With more than a third of Asquith homes rented, we do a lot of this work and can supply records for your agent.
Yes, provided the site already has three-phase supply at the board. We add three-phase outlets, isolators for machinery, and dedicated circuits for compressors and welders. If the building needs a new network connection or upgraded service mains, that must be done by a Level 2 contractor, and we are happy to coordinate the internal work around theirs.
Homes on the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park boundary can see storm damage, falling branches and power surges. We recommend sealed outdoor fittings, surge protection on the main board, and RCD protection on every circuit. If a storm damages cabling on your property, we can make the site safe and repair it. Anything on the street side or on network poles belongs to Ausgrid.
Often, yes. Asquith only got mains power in 1926, and cottages from the early land releases may still contain rubber-insulated cable or ceramic fuses. We start with an inspection and insulation tests to see what can stay and what must go. A house rewire is usually easiest before painting or new flooring, so it pays to plan ahead.
Yes. For a house, we check board capacity and run a dedicated circuit to a wall charger in the garage or carport. In a strata building, the owners corporation usually needs to approve the work and decide how usage is metered. We can prepare a proposal for the committee showing the circuit route, load management and how charging would be billed.
We do. Offices, showrooms and factory units in Asquith’s industrial areas regularly need new lighting, extra outlets, data points and tenancy fit-outs when a business moves in. We work around trading hours, stage the job so part of the space stays usable, and provide certificates for the landlord and the business owner at the end.
