Own a townhouse near Upjohn Park, a post-war cottage off South Street, or a factory unit on the western industrial side? Our Rydalmere specials reach Park Road shops, Eric Primrose Reserve and the Yallamundi end too. Bring up the offer as you book and it is yours.

Rydalmere homes split three ways. The 2021 Census counted 53.1 per cent separate houses, 32.6 per cent townhouses and semis, nearly triple the NSW share of 11.7, and 13.8 per cent flats. Much of the old Fairmount orchard was only built out after World War II, when the Housing Commission took it over for public housing, so plenty of boards date from that era. We handle switchboard replacements, fresh circuits for extended kitchens and wiring for villa and townhouse complexes along the eastern streets.

Wikipedia describes western Rydalmere as mostly light manufacturing and service industry, with homes to the east. Nearby is the Western Sydney University Parramatta South campus. We keep factory units running with three-phase repairs, warehouse LED refits, test and tag rounds and office fit-out wiring for trade counters and showrooms.

From our Parramatta runs, Rydalmere is minutes away across Victoria Road, which keeps same-day service within reach on most weekdays. Urgent calls here include a post-war board with a melted fuse carrier, a townhouse losing power to its upstairs bedrooms, and a factory press stopping on a dead phase.
Families form the core of our Rydalmere customer list. Couples with children account for 52.2 per cent of families here, and three-bedroom homes are the most common size, so we spend a lot of time adding outlets to converted garages, wiring ducted air and replacing tired fittings in bedrooms. As your Rydalmere electrician, we also serve the rental market, which covers 41.9 per cent of homes, plus the factories west of Park Road.
Each part of the suburb brings its own jobs. Streets near Rydalmere Park and Eric Primrose Reserve are heavy on original brick and weatherboard cottages, while newer complexes lean on strata wiring. For an electrical emergency at home or in a workshop, the same crew that covers the rest of Western Sydney can get to you quickly.

Large parts of Rydalmere were developed as public housing after World War II. Many of those houses still carry original boards and limited circuits, so we upgrade enclosures and add safety switches carefully.
Townhouses and semis make up 32.6 per cent of homes here. We sort metering, common driveway lighting and individual lot faults, keeping owners and the strata manager informed at each step.
Western Rydalmere is mainly light manufacturing and service industry. We look after three-phase outlets, motor circuits, emergency exit lights and switchboard maintenance for factory units and warehouses.
Homes near the Parramatta River, Subiaco Creek and Vineyard Creek often have outdoor outlets and garden lighting exposed to damp. We replace weathered fittings with properly rated, RCD-protected outdoor gear.

Our licensed team has worked through post-war Rydalmere boards, townhouse meter panels and factory distribution boards, and knows where early wiring was commonly patched or overloaded.

You get a site visit, then a single written figure. A three-bedroom cottage near Upjohn Park and a warehouse off the industrial side of Park Road are assessed on their own terms.

If a Rydalmere family loses power to the kitchen, or a machine line stops mid-shift, we rearrange our weekday bookings to get an electrician across Victoria Road promptly.

Among our 250+ customers are Rydalmere homeowners, townhouse committees and factory managers, many referred by neighbours near Eric Primrose Reserve or by other tenants on the industrial strip.

All labour we put into a Rydalmere cottage, villa or factory unit is covered for life, so if our workmanship ever fails, we come back and fix it at no labour cost.

Tell us whether you are in a house, a townhouse complex or a factory unit, and where the meter panel sits. We then offer a time that fits school runs, shifts or production schedules.

Once we have opened the board and checked the circuits involved, you receive a plain summary and a fixed figure in writing, so you can approve or ask questions first.

Victoria Road traffic can slow the morning run, so we build in time, park off the main road where possible and ring you if the arrival window needs adjusting.

Floors stay covered, any plaster dust is vacuumed, old fittings are taken away, and the compliance certificate arrives with notes on every circuit we worked on.

Rydalmere’s Fairmount orchard was only fully built out once the Housing Commission acquired it after World War II, and 53.1 per cent of dwellings are still separate houses. Many of those homes keep boards from that period, so a modern switchboard is the upgrade we quote most in 2116.

Every Rydalmere job ends with a CCEW, the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work required under NSW law. For post-war cottages, that means we test the original circuits we connect to and flag any failures in writing rather than hiding them behind a new cover. When a board is replaced or altered, residual current devices go on the final subcircuits as AS/NZS 3000 demands, and since 1 May 2023 only Type A or better units are allowed in fresh work.
Every Rydalmere quote is fixed and put in writing after we have seen the site. The range is wide: fitting outlets in a recent townhouse with open roof space near Upjohn Park is straightforward, yet the same job in a post-war cottage with a cramped ceiling and old cable takes longer. We explain what drives the figure, and it only changes if you add to the work.
Old fuses in a post-war cottage, a townhouse circuit that will not stay on, or a factory near Park Road needing more capacity? Ring 02 8999 3691 for an on-site inspection and a written fixed figure from a licensed electrician, with workmanship guaranteed for life.
Rydalmere families, townhouse owners, landlords and factory managers raise these questions with us most often. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Usually. Our crews run from 7am until 5:30pm on weekdays and from 7am until 2pm on Saturdays, and Rydalmere is on our regular Parramatta circuit. If you phone 02 8999 3691 early, we can often be there before the end of the day. Tell us about sparking, burning smells or a main switch that will not reset so we can prioritise it.
We price after seeing the work, then give you a fixed figure in writing. Two jobs that sound the same can differ a lot in Rydalmere: a new outlet in a recent townhouse may take an hour, while the same outlet in a post-war cottage with tight ceiling space and old cable takes longer. The figure only changes if you ask for extra work.
In most cases, yes. Houses built across Rydalmere after World War II commonly have rewireable fuses, limited circuits and little or no RCD protection. We test the existing wiring, report which circuits are sound, and quote a new board with safety switches. If the insulation tests poorly, we explain the options for staged rewiring.
It depends on where the fault sits. Wiring inside your own lot, from your board onward, is normally the owner’s responsibility, while shared driveway lights, mains and common meter panels belong to the owners corporation. Townhouses and semis make up 32.6 per cent of Rydalmere homes, so we trace faults and give both parties a written finding.
Yes. Western Rydalmere is mostly light manufacturing and service businesses. We handle three-phase repairs, motor and compressor circuits, LED high-bay upgrades, exit and emergency lighting and commercial maintenance, scheduling around production so your line does not sit idle longer than necessary.
Many Rydalmere houses sit on blocks with room for a garage workshop or studio. We run a dedicated sub-circuit from the main board, fit outlets, lighting and, where needed, a small sub-board. For detached structures we check trench depth and cable ratings so the work meets AS/NZS 3000.
Rentals account for 41.9 per cent of Rydalmere homes. Landlords must keep a working alarm on each storey, repair any reported fault within two business days and replace alarms once they pass ten years from manufacture. Hard-wired units must go in via a licensed electrician. We do smoke alarm installs and leave a dated record for the agent.
Rydalmere averages 1.7 vehicles per dwelling and most houses have a driveway or garage, which makes home charging practical. We check your board capacity, run a dedicated circuit to the parking spot and install a wall charger. Townhouse owners need strata approval before we start work in shared car parks.
Yes. Extending a Rydalmere cottage or updating a kitchen is the ideal moment to replace old cable and add circuits. We plan the layout with you and your builder, rough in cabling before plaster goes up and return to fit off switches, outlets and LED downlights once painting is finished.
Homes close to the Parramatta River, Subiaco Creek and Vineyard Creek often have garden lights, pool gear and outdoor outlets exposed to moisture. We test those circuits, replace corroded fittings with weatherproof ones and confirm RCD protection, which reduces nuisance tripping after rain.
All of Rydalmere 2116, from Victoria Road and Park Road to South Street, Rydalmere Park, Eric Primrose Reserve, Upjohn Park, the Yallamundi stop and the ferry wharf. We also work daily in Camellia, Ermington, Dundas, Rosehill, Oatlands, Melrose Park, Dundas Valley, Parramatta and Telopea.
