Renting on Sirius Road, owning a villa off Yates Avenue or running a club team at Curtis Oval? Dundas Valley homes near Sir Thomas Mitchell Reserve, Dundas Park and Lachlan Macquarie Park can claim our current specials. Name the deal as you book and we knock it off.

Much of Dundas Valley was built as public housing through the 1950s and 1960s, and plenty of those homes still carry wiring from that era. The 2021 Census put separate houses at 65.6 per cent, matching the NSW rate, with semi-detached homes and townhouses at 29.9 per cent. Families have grown into these places: 40.5 per cent now have four or more bedrooms. We handle house rewiring for mid-century cottages, board changes and the extra capacity added rooms demand.

Business activity in Dundas Valley is concentrated along the Yates Avenue shops beside Curtis Oval, largely redeveloped in 2017 with apartments above ground-floor retail. There are also registered clubs, including The Viking Club on Quarry Road, and several church halls. We look after tenancy fit-out wiring, lighting, and fault repairs for these sites.

For Dundas Valley homes we run a same-day service aimed at the faults mid-century housing produces: old rubber-insulated cable crumbling inside a wall, a porcelain fuse that keeps failing, or power to a kitchen extension dropping out after a storm rolls through the valley.
A lot of our Dundas Valley work comes from the housing story here. Homes from the post-war public building program have been bought, extended and rented out over the decades, and 37.4 per cent were leased at the 2021 Census. Landlords need alarms and safety switches up to date, while owners who added bedrooms want boards that can cope. As your Dundas Valley electrician we also help first-time buyers work out what an old house really needs.
Street names tell you where you are: Sirius, Supply, Alexander, Charlotte and Friendship recall First Fleet ships, and Neptune the Second Fleet. Around them sit original cottages, infill villas and newer townhouses, each with different wiring. When something fails without warning we offer an urgent electrical callout, and our vans also cover the rest of Western Sydney each day.

Dundas Valley grew through public housing in the 1950s and 1960s. We replace ageing rubber and early plastic cable, add earthing where it is missing and bring circuits up to current standards.
Nearly 30 per cent of dwellings here are semi-detached or townhouses. We handle strata meter panels, common lighting and lot faults, and explain to owners where their responsibility ends.
With 37.4 per cent of homes leased, property managers book us to fit or replace smoke alarms, test RCDs and provide records before the next tenant moves in.
More than 40 per cent of Dundas Valley homes now have four or more bedrooms. Extra rooms, split systems and bigger kitchens need their own circuits so the original supply is not stretched too far.

Mid-century Dundas Valley cottages are familiar ground for our licensed team, from brittle rubber cable in the roof to the extra earthing these houses often need after years of piecemeal additions.

An original cottage on Supply Street and a newer villa near Curtis Oval can need very different work, so each gets its own written fixed quote after a visit.

If a Dundas Valley home loses power or an outlet starts smoking, we treat it as a priority and give you a genuine estimate of when we will arrive.

Among our 250+ customers are Dundas Valley landlords, first-home buyers and villa owners, many referred by neighbours who had their own older houses sorted by us.

Our workmanship on every Dundas Valley job, from a single light switch to a complete post-war rewire, comes with a labour guarantee that lasts for life.

Call with your address, whether the home is a cottage, villa or townhouse, and any access notes such as a steep driveway down toward the creek. We then book a suitable time.

Having examined the switchboard and existing cabling, we spell out the options in plain English and send a firm written quote before any work begins.

Your electrician turns up at the time agreed, with parts for common mid-century faults on board. If traffic along Pennant Hills Road holds us up, we let you know.

Once the work is complete we clean up, take away old wiring and fittings, and email your compliance certificate with a brief summary of what we changed.

The company began with Spyro in 2017; these days five-plus licensed electricians look after our Parramatta area work, including many older Dundas Valley homes. What keeps us busy here is the post-war housing: rewires, board replacements and new circuits for extensions. Landlords call us for alarms and safety checks, and families moving into renovated cottages want the wiring checked properly. We enjoy the variety and the chance to leave an old house safer than we found it.

Most of Dundas Valley was built as public housing in the 1950s and 1960s, so many homes are now 60 to 70 years old. With 65.6 per cent separate houses and many since extended, original cabling and piecemeal additions are common.

Our paperwork for each Dundas Valley visit includes a CCEW lodged under NSW law. For a cottage from the post-war building program, that certificate frequently lists fresh cable, sounder earthing and a new board. Rework a switchboard and the wiring standard asks for residual current devices guarding each final subcircuit, while Type AC units, barred from new installs since May 2023, stay off our van.
Before starting, you hold a fixed price in writing. Two jobs in Dundas Valley can look alike on paper but differ greatly: adding lights in a newer villa with easy ceiling access is usually quick, whereas the same work in an original post-war cottage might involve old cable, low roof spaces and extensions built over former outside walls. We inspect, then quote one amount.
Living with an old fuse box in a Dundas Valley cottage, managing a rental that needs alarms, or planning an extension near Dundas Park? Call 02 8999 3691 to have a licensed electrician inspect the job, explain your options and give you a written fixed quote.
Dundas Valley homeowners, landlords, villa owners and local clubs raise these questions with us most. If yours is not covered here, call us on 02 8999 3691.
Usually. Our crew is on the road weekdays between 7am and 5:30pm and Saturdays between 7am and 2pm, and Dundas Valley is a short hop from our regular Parramatta area rounds. A morning call to 02 8999 3691 gives the best odds of a same-day visit. Smoke, a burning smell, sparking or a main switch refusing to reset all jump the queue.
We do not guess over the phone because older homes vary so much. A simple repair in a recent townhouse may be quick, while tracing a fault through an original cottage with several extensions can take longer. After inspecting, we give a written fixed quote, and it only changes if you decide to add work.
Not always, but it is worth checking. Many homes here were built as public housing in the 1950s and 1960s, and some still have original rubber-insulated cable, weak earthing or old fuse boards. We test insulation and earthing, inspect the board and tell you which circuits are fine and which should be replaced, so you can plan the work.
Many are. Semi-detached homes and townhouses make up 29.9 per cent of Dundas Valley dwellings, and many sit in small strata schemes. Generally the wiring inside your lot is yours, while common lighting and shared meter panels belong to the owners corporation. We identify where a fault sits and give both you and the strata manager a written explanation.
Every level of a rented home needs a working alarm. After a tenant reports a fault the landlord has two business days to fix it, and any alarm past ten years from manufacture must be swapped. Only licensed electricians may fit hard-wired units. With 37.4 per cent of Dundas Valley homes leased, we run regular smoke alarm checks and leave clear records for landlords and agents.
Yes. Many families have added bedrooms, living areas or bigger kitchens to original homes. We check whether the existing board and supply can handle more load, then plan new circuits, lighting and power points with your builder. If the old wiring is poor, we can combine the extension work with a partial or full rewire.
Yes. Many original homes have simple ceilings with enough roof access for us to fit ceiling fans and wall controls. We check the ceiling structure, run a suitable circuit and make sure the new fan does not load an old lighting circuit beyond what it can safely handle.
We do. The Yates Avenue centre beside Curtis Oval now includes apartments with ground floor shops, and nearby clubs and church halls need regular electrical maintenance. We handle lighting, extra power, emergency lighting checks and fault repairs, planning the work to suit trading hours and events.
The reserve sits on an old blue metal quarry opened in 1832, and the surrounding area has sloping ground running down toward Ponds Creek. Some nearby homes have split levels or deep subfloors, which affects how we run cable and where outdoor circuits go. We plan routes carefully and protect garage and outdoor wiring from moisture.
